This is our first book club event, and it's FREE! International and local friends welcomed! We're looking for people who want to think and grow in a post-AI world. You can: · Bring a book you love to share or exchange (physical or digital). Read a few favorite paragraphs and discuss them with the group. · Bring an idea to talk about. · Simply be a listener and learn from others' perspectives.

This is the perfect activity for anyone wanting to improve their drawing - you don’t need any experience to join. The session is not tutorial, however our host Mary is more than happy to assist you. Please be sure to bring your own materials but if you need some extra we’ll have some basic materials. Lets’s enjoy the cool weather and read al fresco! We’ll get together at the park to read our books. This will be a silent reading session so feel free to bring whatever books you’re reading. You’ll find us under the trees after passing the L shaped building in Tamar Park - the exact location link will be shared on the day (you can also look for a yellow checkered picnic blanket). **General idea:** Join us for a relaxed people-drawing-people activity over coffee or a drink. Both newcomers and experienced participants are welcome to join. **💰 Price** : Only pay for your drink! Hello all. Let's meet this time and try to capture silence of the night. The idea is to try to convey the theme forcefully by capturing night scenes by exploring the shades of silence by using spaces, light and shadows, and situations… **Meeting Time & Place:** **7pm**, at **Sai Ying Pun MTR Station Exit C (street level)**. This is a regular Bring-Your-Own-Book session, where participants share and present to the group non-fiction books they have read. New members are welcome to attend to listen to and discuss the presentations of others. Usually a meeting takes around 2.5-3 hours. During this time we discuss 2 different books, roughly 1 hour per book. Any non-fiction material: a book, documentary, or lecture or a part of it - anything with a title and an author and that contains some coherent ideas. Each presentation includes a summary of a book (15-40 min) and discussion (accordingly). The meeting will be either in a park or in a coffee shop, on HK side. The exact place to be confirmed with the attendees **by WhatsApp only**. I will / have sent the link to the WhatsApp group, please use the link. Introvert friendly. We have people from different countries, so while books can be in any language, the language of the meeting is English. There is a fee of 20 HKD for the first timers to help funding the Meetup membership needed to run the group. Do not hit "Attend" if you are not going to attend. If you RSVPed, but there is anything preventing you from going to the meeting, remember to tell the host as soon as possible and/or update the RSVP - before the RSVP is closed, to give other people a chance to take your spot. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine. We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you. The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit. Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
