[RICHMOND HILL] Hike @ Wilcox Lake (6km) + Mindfulness & Gratitude 🙏
Join us for a Gratitude walk/hike to Wilcox Lake in Richmond Hill.
The theme for this week's hike is: GRATITUDE. We will have some moments of reflecting and sharing (only if you are comfortable).
There will also be YOGA for beginners to warmup and cool down. I will guide you through a beginner-friendly yoga sequence before the hike and again at the end of the hike. So if you normally leave hikes feeling stiff and sore, this session will be a treat for your joints and stiff muscles.
Come meet new friends while doing a fun and social hike!
This hike is rated easy and a relaxed pace. Perfect for those looking to socialize while getting in some exercise and suitable for beginners. So, for those who are looking for short and easy hikes, you better come out for this one! Only 6km with the option of extending. 😀
MINDFULNESS MEDITATION & FOREST BATHING:
During the hike, we will practise mindful meditation and mindful forest bathing (still, quiet time in the forest). After a long work week, this is a great way to help with stress release.
We will find a spot in the forest to practice a minimum of 10 minutes of silent meditation.
Here is what to expect:
* 6km hike to a very pretty Wilcox lake and park
* Forested paths with flat trails (55m elevation gain), suitable for beginners
* Yoga stretches at the beginning and end of the hike
* Gratitude reflection and session for sharing
* 10-mins mindful meditation 🧘♀️
* Relaxed pace (we are NOT a fast hiking group). We wait for everyone and slow down when needed/stop and take breaks as needed.
* Free parking (large lot)
* Community centre washrooms on route
What you need to bring:
* wear running shoes, sneakers or hiking shoes. You can probably hike in good walking sandals, too.
* pack some water or beverage
* a sweater for cooler weather
Be prepared for all conditions on trail including mud.
MEETING SPOT:
FREE parking:
Bond Lake Public School
245 Old Colony Road, Richmond Hill
MEETING TIME:
Please aim to arrive by 2pm.
The session is led by a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor.
***Hike leaves promptly at 2:10PM***
\*\*\*YOU MUST UPDATE YOUR RSVP to *NOT Going* if you can not attend. If your RSVP remains going and you do not attend, you will be marked as a *no show*. You will not be added to future hikes with 3 no-shows.

**About Wilderness Union**
Wilderness Union is deliberate about building an outdoors community that connects you to the life-changing magic of the outdoors and helps you find your people.
Members range from 20-40 years old. The group is a mix of GTA locals and newcomers to Toronto from within Canada and abroad.
Attendance numbers on Meetup don't reflect our actual event attendance - we typically have 15-20 community members at each event. Large enough that there's someone new to meet but small enough that it's not overwhelming!

Board Gaming for Dads - York Region
\*\*NEW LOCATION UPDATE\*\*
HELLO Everyone,
We are happy to announce that our 6 year running group will be moving our weekly event back to our old location which is now under the Fionn MacCools banner. Game night will be at Fionn MacCools at 125 York Blvd #135 in Richmond Hill.
Start time is at 7 PM sharp, so please do you absolute best to show up at least a few minutes before then. If you feel you are running late, let us know in the group chat or contact one of the organizers directly.
If you are new to the group, we are made up of a friendly group of Dad's who like to play large variety of Euro style games both new and old.
We encourage everyone to please try and support venue partner with food and/or drink orders, if at all possible.
While the organizers usually bring a number of titles, it's fairly common for attendees to bring a game or two of their own to these events. You may want to keep in mind factors like game duration and table space required, set up time and repacking time. If you do not have anything to bring, don't feel like you have to, we've got you covered.
Because the player count is usually not known precisely until everyone shows up, having extra games around with varying player counts helps when deciding what to play.
Looking forward to seeing you at our next event!! PLEASE RSVP if you are coming, cheers!!
