Session 15: Power
Session 15: Power
Hi! Welcome to Thought Experiments in Pubs - Berlin edition, where you get to have deep conversations with people you've never met. See the comment for today's thought experiments! **Location:** [Atopia Kaffeehaus, Prenzlauer Allee 187, 10405 Berlin](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ukuup9CTrmedrB6f9) * Please consider that the locations we visit do not charge us for our booking, so in return, please make sure to show your appreciation by buying drinks or snacks. đŸ» * If you're signed up but can't make the event, please cancel so someone else can take your spot 🙏 * Make sure you check the right address, there is a sister pub nearby and it's not that one ☝ **The idea:** A chance to meet and talk at a 'deeper' level, and skip the 'small talk'. **How will it work?** We will have a set of 'Thought Experiments', short, philosophical scenarios and questions, which will be discussed in groups. The conversation will flow freely, there are no strict rules, simply share and discuss your perspectives on the given topic. The thought experiments will be posted here ahead of the event. **Who should come?** Everyone! We believe that the more perspectives, the richer the conversation. This group is not about being experts in philosophy, it is about *doing* philosophy. That is, bringing our various life experiences and lenses on the world to group discussions about the human experience, the nature of reality... etc. **Do I need to bring anything?** No! Just an open, inquisitive mind. We will do 3 rounds of discussions. After the event, I would love to hear your feedback on the session. The thought experiments we will discuss are around the theme of the day. Prompts will be posted here on the day of the event. See you soon! \- Dirk *Thought Experiments in Pubs Berlin is inspired by [Thought Experiments in Pubs London](https://www.meetup.com/thought-experiments-in-pubs/), which originated in 2023 as a social experiment to get people together to connect at a deeper level. **Massage Exchange for GBTQ men\*** **[BOOK HERE!](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/massage-exchange/w02-2026)** **Member: 15 €** **Non Member: 25 €** đŸ”” Massage Exchange for **GBTQ men\*** is a monthly event that provides a safe and welcoming space to practice and experience full-body touch and massage techniques (using massage tables). Referencing the content from the “Soul of Skin” massage training, each evening offers participants the opportunity to either try out or deepen various massage styles, fostering a community of learning and support. Switching between giving and receiving roles often allows men\* to engage more deeply, experiencing greater impact and connection. The event provides both thematic suggestions for massage techniques and “best practices”, as well as enough freedom to use the space in mutual agreement with your partner\*. Whether you are new to massage or attentive touch, or an experienced practitioner, this event is an excellent opportunity to connect with others, improve your skills, and enjoy the many benefits of touch in a supportive environment. **Benefits of non-judgmental, full-body Touch** * Touch is essential for our mental health and prevents loneliness * Touch slows down, nourishes, and soothes * Touch can positively influence shame or negative body image * Touch promotes relaxation and regeneration * Touch communicates without words and creates a deeper connection to others * Touch stimulates the capacity for pleasure and empathy **General Information** * This format is for all queer men\* / queer masculinities interested in experiencing touch in a safe(r) setting. * Please pay attention to personal hygiene * Be comfortable with nudity. This event is sensual and may include genital touch but is not about sex. * Bring your own oil, a sheet and a towel to cover cushions, mats, or massage tables. * This event will be in German and/or English depending on participant needs. * This event is also available at a reduced member price – but not part of the two-free-monthly-events benefit.

The space welcomes those on HRT and those not pursuing medical transition, recognising embodiment as both physical and political. The intention of this space is to support building confidence in our physicality as femmes, nurture bodily autonomy, and develop touch literacy within a supportive community. The practice is intended as an exercise for femmes’ resilience against societal violence and exclusion, rewriting those narratives with empowerment, presence, and joy. The journey flows from individual body awareness (somatic practices and touch) to communal movement (dance and spatial exercises) and ends with free movement and integration, all centered around consent, autonomy, and care. **General information** To engage fully in the experience, participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes. **Participants**: This workshop is for all transfeminine people across all femme spectrums: trans women, transvestites, hormonal faggots, butch femmes, gender-nonconforming, and those identifying within the broader transfeminine experience. **Registration**: This event has limited spots available. Feministischer Stammtisch
Feministischer Stammtisch
Feminine Body Awakening – Hip. Spine. Heart.
Feminine Body Awakening – Hip. Spine. Heart.
**A 3-part embodied dance journey for women** Part 1: 11.01.2026 Part 2: 08.03.2026 Part 3: 12.04.2026 **WORKSHOP 1 – HIPS (Hip Activation – Rooting into Feminine Power)** Donation based \| Only for women \| 11\.01\.2026 \| 14:30 – 17:00 \| MahaYoga Zentrum Building on the essence of **Devadasi – The Sacred Art of Temple Dance**, this series invites you into a deeper, guided exploration of your feminine body. Over three workshops, we journey through **hips, spine, and heart** – key gateways of feminine energy, sensuality, emotional flow, and presence. Each session stands on its own and together they form a coherent path of embodiment, soft activation, and inner awakening. This series is for women who long to: * feel more alive and at home in their bodies * reconnect with sensuality and softness * move beyond the mind and into felt experience * explore feminine energy in a grounded, respectful way * time to meet and share in a circle of women This is a **safe, welcoming space** for all women – all ages, all body types. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely and feel beautiful. Come as you are, leave feeling **soft, alive, and deeply connected** to your feminine essence. **About Workshop 1** The hips are a powerful center of feminine energy, creativity, and emotional memory. In this first workshop of the Feminine Body Awakening Series, we begin with soft, slow movements to gently awaken the hips and pelvis, allowing the body to feel safe, grounded, and receptive. From this place of softness, we gradually add spice and strength: through powerful hip drops, shimmies, and rhythmic accents, we activate the inner fire and explore a more dynamic expression of feminine power. This session supports you in: * releasing stored tension and stagnation in the hips * reconnecting with pleasure, stability, and embodied confidence * feeling both soft and strong, rooted and alive The combination of fluid movements and more earthy, activating sequences invites you to experience the full spectrum of feminine energy – from subtle sensation to vibrant power. This is not about technique or performance. It is about awakening sensation, building presence, and letting the hips speak their own language. The workshop concludes with a **Full Yogic Relaxation**, allowing the nervous system to settle and the experience to integrate deeply. **Address** Deutsche Akademie fĂŒr traditionelles Yoga e. V. MahaYoga Zentrum Brunnenstr. 147 10115 Berlin (Directly at underground station U Bernauer Str. U8 [elevator exit])

The Matzah Ball by Jean Meltzer
The Matzah Ball by Jean Meltzer
I don't usually pick romance but I really wanted to do a Hanukkah book. It's a bit on the longer side but hopefully a quick read. The library only has 5 audiobooks so please try to remember to "release it" when you're done. Columbus libraries: [https://cml.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S105C3503238](https://cml.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S105C3503238) Location: The Goat Riversouth [219 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215](https://www.google.com/maps?q=219%20South%20High%20Street%2C%20Columbus%2C%20Ohio%2043215%2C%20United%20States) [Menu](https://static1.squarespace.com/static/686d3ed16745133042482c5f/t/68ff654dbb03b96875430bde/1761568077220/all_brunch-20250311.pdf) Book summary: Rachel Rubenstein-Goldblatt is a nice Jewish girl with a shameful secret: she loves Christmas. For a decade she’s hidden her career as a Christmas romance novelist from her family. Her talent has made her a bestseller even as her chronic illness has always kept the kind of love she writes about out of reach. But when her diversity-conscious publisher insists she write a Hanukkah romance, her well of inspiration suddenly runs dry. Hanukkah’s not magical. It’s not merry. It’s not *Christmas*. Desperate not to lose her contract, Rachel’s determined to find her muse at the Matzah Ball, a Jewish music celebration on the last night of Hanukkah, even if it means working with her summer camp archenemy—Jacob Greenberg. Though Rachel and Jacob haven’t seen each other since they were kids, their grudge still glows brighter than a menorah. But as they spend more time together, Rachel finds herself drawn to Hanukkah—and Jacob—in a way she never expected. Maybe this holiday of lights will be the spark she needed to set her heart ablaze.

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. đŸ€ đŸ‘‹ **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
