Disconnect & Connect in Nature
Disconnect & Connect in Nature
I’m putting together a small hike trip weekend in Hoorneboegse heide in Hilversum, the idea is to come with a few people who want to step out of their routine, spend time in nature, and meet others in a relaxed way. This is not a tour or a structured retreat. The idea is simple step out of your comfort and everyday life to reconnect with nature and with each other. We will – explore the beautiful nature – share a few moments together – and keep things easy and natural There will be time together (walks and sunset). Group size will be small (around 2- 4 people), to keep it comfortable and personal. This Meetup is to connect people who are interested in real and human connection If this resonates, feel free to join and I’ll share more details 🙂

AI Agents: Test or Trust?
AI Agents: Test or Trust?
**The Agent Who Tested Me: Behavioral Testing for AI Skills** Hoe test je tools die elke keer net een ander antwoord kunnen geven? Welkom in moderne software engineering. Deze avond is **volledig in het Nederlands (Dutch spoken).** **Programma** 17:30 Ontvangst en eten 18:30 The Agent Who Tested Me: Behavioral Testing for AI Skills 19:30 Korte pauze 19:45 Software engineering in the age of AI agents: who’s in control? 20:45 Q&A en discussie 21:00 Afsluiting met een borrel

Immersieve ervaringen: van verhaal tot beleving
Immersieve ervaringen: van verhaal tot beleving
*Please note: this meetup will be held in English.* In this first meet up, you will be shown a set of immersive artistic and design research experiments. Project Thuis conducts two years of artistic and design research into immersive experiences that place the body at the centre. The central question is: "How can immersive experiences in (semi-)public spaces contribute to a sense of connection, belonging, and 'feeling at home'? To explore this, a multidisciplinary consortium consisting of [Fillip Studios,](https://www.fillipstudios.com/) [affect lab,](https://www.affectlab.org/) [Introdans,](https://introdans.nl/) [Utrecht University,](https://www.uu.nl/staff/SPonzanesi) and the [Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences,](https://civicinteractiondesign.com/) has embarked on a creative journey together. Within the context of Project Thuis, this meetup will focus on artistic and design research forms applicable across various disciplines. **Programme:** 16:00 - 16:15: Opening 16:15 - 17:15: Interactive session 17:15 - 17:30: The role of the maker in the future of immersive experiences 17:30 - 18:00: Networking and drinks (including presence of [CIIIC](https://us2.mailchimp.com/mctx/clicks?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ciiic.nl%2F&xid=f4ced03a90&uid=2313462&iid=e62065ab18&pool=cts&v=2&c=1780312609&h=0b99fb0b79b5fe3d2625a4891bea9d8bc6ef045db3b8ee6ffe56d6cfc6e501c4)) Within the context of Project Thuis, this meetup will focus on experiments that you, as a maker, can use to conduct artistic and design research across various disciplines. *[This event marks the first in a series for Project Thuis (Home). Ontwerp Platform Arnhem has been invited to organise the meetups. We strongly endorse the importance of initiatives like this, and are highly committed to connecting designers with these themes and consortia](https://www.ciiic.nl/)***[.](https://www.ciiic.nl/)**
Queer Family Hang Out!
Queer Family Hang Out!
Calling all Queer Families! Kinship Commons is hosting our first Queer family hang out! *Pride Month seems like a great time to find your people.* A casual space to meet other queer / trans families - who get it. Let the kids play, build community alongside each other or just rest and snack. Come for a little while or stay for the whole time. Come as you are or bring a snack to share. 20 June @ 2pm In an effort to keep us safe - Send a DM for location Official Language: English All ages and stages of family welcome! Happy Pride! ***Caring Community Agreements:*** *Kinship Commons gatherings are BIPOC centered, queer-affirming, family-friendly, community spaces built around care, mutual respect, and shared responsibility for the space.* *Many people who come to these spaces are navigating stress, burnout, grief, trauma, parenting, isolation, or major life transitions. We try to create spaces where people can arrive as they are, without needing to perform or explain themselves.* **Consent:** Please ask before hugging, touching, picking up children, taking photos, or sharing someone else’s story. No is a complete sentence. **Children:** Children are welcome in this space and are at the center of our ecosystem. We understand that children make noise, move around, and have big feelings - these are all normal ways to be a growing human. Adults are responsible for their own children, and as a community, we approach all children with patience and care rather than discipline or correction unless safety is involved. At one of our events, if you see a caregiver on their own with children that needs support, please offer a helping hand. **Photos and Social Media:** Please ask before taking photos that include other people or their children. Not everyone is safe being online. **Stepping Away:** You are always welcome to step outside, sit quietly, leave early, arrive late, or take space. You do not need to explain. **Food:** We come from many cultures and backgrounds where food is often the centerpiece of connection in community space. If food is shared, please label common allergens. People are welcome to bring their own separate food if they have dietary needs. **Access:** We try to choose spaces that are close to public transport + parking, accessible for strollers, mobility aids, and different body needs when possible. If you have a specific access need, please reach out ahead of time so we can meet your needs. **Conflict and Harm:** Community spaces are not perfect and misunderstandings happen. We approach conflict slowly, with conversation, curiosity and care, rather than public calling out or shaming. Accountability and repair are part of community. **Shared Responsibility:** This space exists because people help make it exist. This might look like helping set up, cleaning up, bringing snacks, sharing skills, checking in on someone, or simply showing up regularly. You are welcome here whether you are outgoing or quiet, whether you know many people or no one, whether you come once a year or every week. There are many ways to belong to a community.

Join the weight loss in Columbus group at the Scioto Audubon Park for an in person meeting. We'll meet to chat casually, talk about goals and enjoy one of Columbus's wonderful parks. We'll meet at one of the outdoor shelters, which is covered in case of rain, is close to some walking trails, and there's also a climbing gym that people can try out (my favorite past time) if people are interested. Let's meet and see where we can take things!

Drunken Philosophy: Where Is Everybody? The Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter
Drunken Philosophy: Where Is Everybody? The Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter
Welcome to Drunken Philosophy, a casual, curious, social discussion club. Come grab a drink and a seat at The Oracle. **Optional topic for this meetup: Where is everybody?** In 1950 the physicist Enrico Fermi was talking about aliens over lunch and asked a question that still has not gone away: if the universe is so vast and so old, and even a fraction of those billions of stars have planets, where is everyone? By the numbers the galaxy should be crowded with civilizations. Instead we look up and hear silence. That gap between "they should be everywhere" and "we see no one" is the Fermi Paradox. One of the most unsettling answers is the idea of a **Great Filter**: somewhere on the road from dead chemistry to a galaxy-spanning civilization, there is at least one step that is almost impossible to get past. Maybe the filter is behind us. Maybe life starting at all, or simple cells becoming complex, or intelligence ever evolving, is the freak accident, and we already cleared the hard part. Or maybe the filter is ahead of us, and advanced civilizations reliably wipe themselves out before they spread. Here is the part that messes with people. If we ever found life somewhere else, even pond scum on Mars, most people would call it the greatest discovery in history. But it might be the worst possible news. It would mean life is common, the early steps are easy, and the hard step is still in front of us. So the eerie silence overhead might actually be the best sign we could ask for. **Questions to wrestle with:** * Is it better to be alone? Would you rather we find alien life and learn we are not special, or find nothing and quietly improve our odds of surviving? * Where do you bet the filter sits, behind us or ahead of us, and why? * If it is ahead of us, what is it? Nuclear war, climate collapse, AI, something we cannot even picture yet? And can we do anything about a filter we cannot see coming? * Does any of this change how you live, or how humanity should be spending its time and money right now? As always the prompt is optional. Come for the conversation, stay for the drinks, and bring your own questions.

How to Get Over Losses and Betrayls & Build Lasting Relationships
How to Get Over Losses and Betrayls & Build Lasting Relationships
Join us for this free, in person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Do you want more motivation and confidence to build lasting relationships? Are you burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival, while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is held at the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
