Folk Tales in Watercolour
Folk Tales in Watercolour
**Folk Tales in Watercolour - Illustration Workshop** This month-long workshop explores **European folk stories, forest spirits, witches, and strange old myths through watercolour.** Drawing inspiration from figures like Baba Yaga and other eerie, ambiguous characters from across Europe, we’ll work with narrative, mood, and symbolism. Across four sessions, participants will experiment with watercolour techniques suited to storytelling: **loose washes, layered textures, limited palettes and character creation.** We’ll look at how folklore can shape visual worlds—crooked houses, deep woods, animal-human figures, and half-remembered legends—and translate those ideas into expressive paintings. Open to all levels. However, this workshop prioritises interpretation over technique, using watercolour as a tool to explore and reimagine European folk stories. **Tuesdays 3 – 10 - 17 - 24 February** from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Join us for the whole course or for singles classes! **In Friedrichshain**, Berlin (exact address by e-mail) **Price:** * **85€** for the 4 classes * **25€** per single class Payment via **PayPal / Bank transfer** ### **Please bring your own material.** If you’d like material suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can also check this helpful guide: [https://www.instagram.com/p/CKWdOx6FczD/](https://www.instagram.com/p/CKWdOx6FczD/) ### **To book:** Email: **hola.berlinartclub@gmail.com** You’ll receive payment details and the exact address upon confirmation. ️ **Spaces are limited** RSVP here doesn't guarantee a spot (sometimes the group is already full, get in touch!) Blanchot Sessions #2
Blanchot Sessions #2
We continue Blanchot Sessions, a guided reading group dedicated to texts by Maurice Blanchot. Little by little, although right away, we've found ourselves at sea. Our core text is *“Encountering the Imaginary.”* We asked: how Blanchot helps us think art, not only literature — image, distance, narrative. How he could help us overcome the unbearable sterility that the art has found itself in. We will sit with selected passages together, follow the writing closely, and take time for questions in conversation. Additional side materials will be provided. The sessions remain open and moderated. No prior knowledge is required — only patience with the text. You’re welcome to join. **Blanchot Sessions — Second Meeting** Wednesday, 25.02. 18:30–20:30 Fee: 20 € Galerie Linger – Art, Books & Press Boppstraße 2, Souterrain links · Kreuzberg Registration: galerielinger@gmail.com
