👾 Level Up Your Folds Vol.2 (presentations and collective folding alert!) 🍊
👾 Level Up Your Folds Vol.2 (presentations and collective folding alert!) 🍊
After hopping across various Berlin venues, we’re thrilled to return to Saftladen for the second edition of *Level Up Your Folds*! Big shoutout to this non-profit (and a very *professional* one, mind you 🍊) indie game developer collective for hosting us again – couldn’t ask for a better creative playground! 👾 Food or snacks for sharing during the origami session are very welcome, so bring them on! Here's an overview of what you could expect: * **Special format of 2x presentation** by our beloved origami masters, followed by **guided collective folding of a model** of their choice! * **Mandatory donation** (amount of your choice) – this supports essential costs like the Meetup subscription and keeps our community thriving 🌱 You can either submit a **physical donation** to the event host in person or make a **digital donation** **[here](https://paypal.me/origamiberlin?locale.x=de_DE&country.x=DE)** (and inform the host afterwards). * In-person folding practice for all levels – beginners and experienced folders are equally welcome. * Origami paper + model instructions will be provided (from the host’s collection, for reference only). Feel free to bring your own favorite sheets or tools! * Photos may be taken for memories & our archive (Meetup, Instagram, Telegram) – let the host know if you prefer not to appear. * **We kindly encourage everyone to buy at least one drink (€2 each) to support [Saftladen](https://saftladen.berlin/) for hosting us!** ⚠️ **RSVP Policy – Please Read** ⚠️ Our community has grown a lot since its birth in August 2024, which is amazing — but it also means we need to handle RSVPs more carefully: * RSVP opens **7 days before** each event (apart from short-notice events) and closes at **noon on the event day**. * Please cancel your spot or contact the host directly (via Meetup message function or our [Telegram channel](https://t.me/+T4URs80l2ig3NWNi)) by **noon on the event day** if you can't make it last minute. * Members with **2 no-shows** (without notice) will be removed from the group unless a valid reason is provided. Thank you for helping us keep our community respectful, reliable, and fun! 🙏 Get in touch if you have questions anytime and see you all at the folding tables very soon! 👾🍊
Cylce & dine - Wagencafé Eberswalde
Cylce & dine - Wagencafé Eberswalde
========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Eberswalde > Finowkanal > Biesenthal > Bernau LEVEL: Easy-Peasy to Intermediate DISTANCE: 35ish kms MEETING POINT: 09:00 - Berlin Südkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** Recommened by a member the Wagencafé in Eberswalde is founded by a Philosopher and received quite a few raving reviews. So, why not just popping over and have a chat!? And a coffee! And maybe a cake? The cafe is just a few kms after the train station and once we all had enough, coffee & chat, we head further on a former towpath with a gorgeous view across the Finowkanal, passing the bridge where it's said the famous autor Theodor Fontane had kissed his later wife the first time (well, when the bridge was still part of the Weidendammbrücke in Berlin). But also a former Paper- and Brass factory are interesting places along the way. Once we leave the towpath after about 10km we head south, passing an old Airfield and then cycling mainly through nature. In Biesenthal is another chance for a quick stop, just in case the energy from the first coffee has burned down. From there its just 10 more km to the train station in Bernau, were we can hop into the S-Bahn or, for the stronger amongst us, head further to Berlin. All in all a relaxed tour on a hopefully sunny day! **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 35ish km ride, with mainly solid but also some forrest or soft ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 09:00 - Berlin Südkreuz, at the ticket machine at the NORTHERN END (facing the TV tower) of the platform. I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 8,10 way out / person and 5,00 (Berlin ABC) way back, so it doesn't make much sense to organise a BBT. But don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 09:10 - dep. Berlin Südkreuz, platform 6, taking RE3 towards Stralsund 10:02 - arr. Eberswalde, platform 3 **WAY BACK:** Any S-Bahn we catch in Bernau. But you can head further back to berlin, if you feel so. **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary. ========= DETAILS =========

FLow - vocal soundbath and breathwork meditation + freestyle vocal session
🕢 Doors open at 18:30 and sessions start at 19:00. Freestyle vocal workout at and play session. €8-20 😌 Flow is a state of being… an experience when you allow yourself to be 100% fully engaged in the present moment in a feedback loop between clarity and satisfaction. It is an undeniable sensation where things seem to be more effortless, pleasurable, in sync, and you can easily sense a connection with something greater than yourself; this is what we will create…: • a connected and mindful meditation where it is possible to blissfully surf the cutting edge of the present moment together… • a game where it’s possible to feel excited and calm in the same moment, and everyone can win as much as they like… Scott Bolden, founder of Das Baumhaus Berlin will share some very easy, practical and effective methods developed during the last 12 years of facilitating the “Improvisational Groove Orchestra” (I.G.O.) improv vocal jam sessions. Within 20 minutes participants learn to use the common sound space to create resonance in the form of improvisational music where it is quite common to experience some real flow moments… It is very easy to participate, no musical talent or training is required so anyone is welcome to join. All of the session is done with eyes closed to avoid visual distractions and keep focus on the co-created sound space. During these sessions we will also have short breaks for feedback and refreshment. Important – Please be on time. It is very important to understand the methodology and warm up in the group before joining in! 🎤 @21:00 - Freestyle vocal workshop and practice session. €8-15 Have you ever wanted to learn how to do freestyle vocalizations? Warning There's no way to predict how much the blossoms bloom. Keine Erfolgsgarantie: Wenn nichts blüht , sind wir durch die Grenzen der Natur eingeschränkt. A simple outside cook meetup to make and take home ready made elderflower syrup. In the tiny park near Blaschkoallee grow some wild elderflower bushes and we make syrup directly from the blossom.

Watercolour Herbarium: A Sensory Workshop
### **🌿 Watercolour Herbarium: A Sensory Workshop** Do you know which herbs boost memory? Which ones calm your body, support digestion, or help you sleep? Join us for a unique 4-day watercolour journey where art meets nature, observation, and everyday wisdom. **In this workshop, we will create our own illustrated herbarium — a personal catalogue of plants — while working directly from real, fresh herbs from my little balcony garden.** You’ll learn how to observe their shapes, textures, and colours, and translate them into delicate watercolour studies. But this is more than painting. Each day, we’ll explore a different selection of herbs like oregano, rosemary, mint, basil and more — learning how they grow, what they’re traditionally used for, and how they can support your body and wellbeing. **We’ll touch them, smell them, paint them… and even taste them in teas and infusions,** engaging all our senses to truly connect with each plant. ✨ What to expect: * Guided watercolour sessions (all levels welcome) * Real herbs to observe and paint from life * Gentle introduction to herbal knowledge & home remedies * A growing collection of your own illustrated herbarium * A calm, sensory, and inspiring atmosphere * Tips about how to grow these herbs at home during this spring By the end of the 4 days, you’ll leave not only with a beautiful series of paintings, but also with a deeper understanding of the plants around you — and how they can become part of your everyday rituals. The workshop includes **four classes**, but you’re also welcome to join individual sessions (when available). Judgement of Paris - House Wine
Judgement of Paris - House Wine
This is the 50th Anniversary of the Judgment of Paris. Significantly, in 1976, California wines unexpectedly outperformed French wines in a blind tasting with nine French judges, challenging the perception that only French wines were of the highest quality. This event helped elevate the status of California wines on the global stage and is considered a pivotal moment in wine history. House Wine, in Worthington, modestly, recreates that moment in history with a tasting both American and French wines in a fun, casual atmosphere. Come at 6:45, pay your fee at the register and join your friends for this "Judgey" tasting. https://www.wineenthusiast.com/culture/wine/the-judgment-of-paris-turns-40/ Arrive when you can and we'll have a table for gathering. Feel free to bring your own food as it is welcomed at this local gem or order from the newly opened Worthington Inn, or local favorites such as Dewey's, Everest, Jet, Worthington Tavern and The Whitney. Each person pays their tasting fee, typically $15, and gets their wine glass, then approximately five pours of the wines being served. **Parking is tough**. Try the second lot behind House Wine accessed by the land by the back parking lot or the municipal lot one block north of House Wine. **Waiver and Liability and Attendance Policy.** Participation by you and your guests means you agree to the Waiver of Liability and Attendance Policies on our Group Page. People who have two more or Attendance policy violations are subject to removal from the group.

Bring your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontroller, or any other electronic project and join fellow electronics makers for a night of creativity and collaboration! This session is open forum to share your current projects—whether complete or in progress, it’s all interesting! Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired. **New to electronics or curious about tinkering?** You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building. While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.

Shut Up & Write!® East Side Columbus
Shut Up & Write!® East Side Columbus
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 11 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Happy writing & I look forward to seeing you at Streetlight Guild! **WHAT SHOULD I BRING?** Whatever you need to be able to write! You're welcome to bring earplugs/headphones if noise will bother you! **OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:** * **RSVP:** Please RSVP by 6:00pm the evening of the meeting. This helps me know how many to expect, and if we'll need additional space! * **COVID:** While masks are not required, please be mindful of the other writers around you and their comfort levels. * **WIFI/OUTLETS:** Outlets are limited, so please ensure your devices are charged when you come! But Streetlight Guild does have free WiFi! Yay! * **PARKING:** There is free public parking at Streetlight Guild.

For anyone off work or with a flexible schedule, come to Pistachio Vera in German Village for a tea and pastry. We will try to get a table outside.
