Tuesday Hot Choc Mob
Tuesday Hot Choc Mob
Join Us for a Hot Choc Mob Evening! We’ll be hitting the streets of London with something simple but powerful: warm drinks, snacks, and human connection. The Hot Choc Mob is a group of volunteers who believe a small act of kindness can mean a lot to someone sleeping rough or living through a tough time. We’re not a charity or religious group—just people who care and want to make a difference in our city. You don’t need any experience to join us. You’ll be welcomed by our walk leader and introduced to the group. From there, we’ll spend about an hour sharing hot chocolate, food, clothing, and friendly conversation with people who need it most. Afterwards, if you’d like to stay, we’ll regroup at a local pub to share stories and get to know each other. Items to bring along that are highly appreciated include bottled water or juice, soft fruit, tinned sardines, new socks, boxer shorts and t-shirts. And if you have a flask for hot water - instant coffee, tea bags, instant hot chocolate, sugar and milk enable us to make hot drinks for those we meet. If you can’t attend but still want to support us, we also have an [Amazon Wishlist](https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3T0FPY3DHUG9A?type=wishlist&filter=all&sort=priority&viewType=list) for essential items. This is your chance to make a real impact in someone’s day while meeting like-minded people who care about community and connection. Spaces are limited, so click RSVP now and join us for an evening that truly matters. Questions? Message Lynn on 07970 983340 Follow us on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/hotchocmob/)

All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 143 / Speed Racer
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 143 / Speed Racer
Speed Racer is a 2008 American sports action comedy film written and directed by the Wachowskis, based on the 1966 manga series by Tatsuo Yoshida. The film stars Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, Matthew Fox, Roger Allam, Benno Fürmann, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rain, and Richard Roundtree. The plot revolves around Speed Racer, an 18-year-old automobile racer who follows his apparently deceased brother's career, choosing to remain loyal to his family and their company, Racer Motors, which causes difficulties after he refuses a contract that E.P. Arnold Royalton, owner of Royalton Industries, offers him. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office failure, grossing $94 million against a $120 million budget. In later years, the film would garner a strong cult following among filmmakers and audiences. It was nominated in three categories at the Teen Choice Awards. Please note we will not be showing the film at the meeting. Make sure you watch the film before you attend and then come and join in with the conversation. It’s just a discussion. It’s not a screening. We will be meeting in The Ludski Bar in the Rio Cinema. June Classic: No One Writes to the Colonel - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
New members are always welcome. :) **Description:** ***No One Writes to the Colonel*** (Spanish: *El coronel no tiene quien le escriba*) is a [novella](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novella "Novella") written by the [Colombian](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colombia "Colombia") writer [Gabriel García Márquez](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabriel_Garc%C3%ADa_M%C3%A1rquez "Gabriel García Márquez"). It also gives its name to a short story collection. My fellow explorers, if you enjoyed the event, I’m more than happy to accept any donations which of course are optional but will go a long way to help me unlock and deliver even more exciting and engaging events and resources: https://www.paypal.me/calvinjoy

 Sunday 5th July 🥐🏃‍♀️ THE 5-STOP GIRLY BAKERY RUN & PICNIC 🏃‍♀️🥐
Sunday 5th July 🥐🏃‍♀️ THE 5-STOP GIRLY BAKERY RUN & PICNIC 🏃‍♀️🥐
Let’s be real... the only thing better than a Sunday morning run is a Sunday morning run that involves **FIVE** different bakeries, immaculate vibes, and a park picnic with the girls. Welcome to the Girly Bakery Run - not your average run club, but a rolling 5k pastry crawl through central London! Whether you run every day, haven't run since school, or literally just want to walk and eat baked goods (same), you need to be here. This is the ultimate, low-pressure Sunday morning. Think: beautiful London streets, securing the bag(s) at five iconic spots, and ending with a huge community picnic in the park to sip our coffees, debrief, and eat our body weight in butter. ### 🎀 The Setup We’ve escalated this to a 5-stop tour because we simply couldn't narrow it down. We've got the route, the timings, and the picnic spot completely sorted so you can just rock up and vibe. * **The Route:** We’re doing a \~5k loop hitting up **Chestnut Bakery**, **Ole & Steen**, **Cöödie**, plus **two surprise stops** along the way (& moreeee!). We will be ending the route at our final stop to grab iced coffees/matchas before heading to the park. * **What’s included:** Your ticket is a tiny cover charge to help us host the event, map out this epic 5-stop route, run the community, and set up our post-run picnic spot! * **The Strategy:** Sharing is HIGHLY recommended! The best way to survive a 5-stop pastry crawl is to split treats with your new besties so you get to taste a little bit of everything without crashing before the park. * **What to bring:** * **The Cargo:** Bring a small backpack, tote, or cross-body bag to safely stash your pastries as we move! * **The Funds:** Everyone will be buying their own treats and final coffees, so have your Apple Pay ready. (You can obviously eat a little as we go, hehe, but the ultimate goal is to build a massive stash for the park!) ### 📍 The Details * **When:** Sunday 5th July, meeting at 10:00 AM sharp. * **Start Line:** Bond Street Station (Elizabeth Line). * **The Paces:** Choose your own adventure! We’ll be splitting into two groups, and **we will have a dedicated leader for both**, so absolutely no one gets left behind: * 🏃‍♀️ **The Slow Run Group:** A super easy, chatty, sexy pace. * 🚶‍♀️ **The Walking Group:** A gorgeous, leisurely stroll between bakeries. * *(Note: We are leaving lots of time for the movement, queuing at 5 different stops, and getting to know each other. This is a rough itinerary, so if things shift on the day, we just roll with it!)* * **Dietary Requirements:** Please note that we’ll be visiting standard bakeries. While many will offer vegetarian and vegan options, if you have strict dietary requirements or severe allergies (like gluten, dairy, or nuts), please double-check with the staff at each location before purchasing! * **The Finish Line:** After our fifth and final coffee/bakery stop, the movement part is *done*. We'll walk together to a nearby park, lay out the blankets, and feast on everything we’ve gathered! ### 🎟️ Tickets * **Bakery Run & Picnic Ticket:** £6.00 **Lace up your favourite running or walking shoes, grab your pastry-carrying backpack, and come spend Sunday morning with the best girls in London! 🥐☕️👟✨**
