We bring you two amazing talks, as well as the usual conversations, pizza and beer! 📍 **Hosted at Autogen AI, Pentonville Road, London** 📅 **Wednesday, 19 February** 🕕 **6:00–8:00 PM** ## Talk 1 **Abstract:** Concrete CMS, a popular open-source content management system, contains a critical flaw in its file upload functionality that can be exploited in two distinct ways. This talk demonstrates how a single upload can lead to a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), allowing access to internal cloud resources, and a double race condition that enables Remote Code Execution (RCE) via a malicious backdoor. We’ll walk through the exploitation process, show how existing protections can be bypassed, and highlight practical steps to secure file upload mechanisms in real-world applications. ## Talk 2 **Abstract** Treat authentication as a production-critical system with its own failure modes and operational risks. In this talk, I break down real-world auth incidents involving JWKS rotation errors, refresh token storms, clock drift, and session store outages. I show how to define SLIs and SLOs that measure user impact and how to build monitoring and alerting that expose real reliability problems. I demonstrate practical guardrails such as token caching, exponential backoff with jitter, circuit breakers, and feature-flagged degraded modes. Finally, I walk through an incident runbook that helps teams diagnose, mitigate, and recover from authentication failures safely and quickly.

**We don’t do boring Wednesdays and so this week, we’re hugely excited to be hosting our latest sports & fitness social to spice up your midweek.** Yep that’s right - for this latest social, we’re excited to be heading back to Rise Climbing, near Canning Town for our **latest Social Bouldering Night,** exclusively for 20s and 30s. If you’ve never been bouldering before, it’s perhaps the most social form of free climbing and one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Unlike other forms of rock climbing, bouldering is free from ropes and harnesses and instead offers soft, safety mats and low walls to encourage climbers to explore their physical limits in a safe environment. But it’s not just a great work out for your body, the venue offers a range of wall challenges of varying design and difficulty that will test your problem solving skills, as well as your creativity, technique and balance. And it is the challenge element that makes bouldering one of the social sports around at present, as it is great spark for conversation in your shared attempts to take on the range of climbing routes on together. Best of all, we’ve been able to organise this **bouldering session, along with shoe hire and a free induction, all** **for just 10.85pp!** And after the bouldering, they'll be an option to head to a nearby pub so you can get a drink, share experience and get to know your fellow climbers a little better. We will all walk from Arundel to Amberley village together past the castle markets to the roof top lounge in Amberley for lunch (about 9km) Option 1: Some can stay on the roof top and relax for the afternoon.
