BECKENHAM & BROMLEY MYN PUB EVENING IN PENGE
We hold two pub evenings a month on the first and third Wednesdays, with all the other Wednesdays being Zoom pub evenings. We also normally have a monthly quiz on the last Wednesday of the month, during the Zoom evening, at about 9pm, where a different member of our group prepares the questions to be used each month.
This means that tonight is an actual pub evening.
We are meeting at the Moon and Stars in Penge High Street, near the Sainsbury supermarket. The pub is a Wetherspoon establishment so we all know what to expect!
We usually try to sit towards the back of the pub, possibly in one of the booths on the right hand side. Look for the IVC name on one of the tables. If you cannot find us, phone (but not text) Roland on 07761 265 390.
Southbank Vinyl
We're now meeting each month at the Bear in Camberwell, where great food and drink options are available, and we can get some time on their decks. Come along with a bunch of vinyl you'd like to play and share with us.
Think farewells, breakups, departures, endings and moving on. From tear-stained torch songs to bittersweet bangers. Maybe it’s Don McLean driving the Chevy to the levee, John Denver leaving on a jet plane or Fleetwood Mac going their own way, pack those records that capture the feeling of leaving something behind, grab a drink and join us for a farewell.
Grab a drink, enjoy some records. And don't forget to RSVP!
Wednesday Tabletop Games at Ayra Pub/Restaurant
😮 50% OFF EVERYTHING AT AYRA TONIGHT UNTIL 6PM! 😮
Ayra are still running their happy hour seven days a week between 4pm and 6pm!
During these times EVERYTHING will be 50% off - that's ALL food AND drink! Making Ayra likely more cost effective than eating at home 😂🤯
On top of that, they have a brand new menu they have launched recently too!
And there will STILL BE FREE FOOD & FREE ENTRY!
(read to the bottom to find out more)🍔...
Along with our main venue opening hours of Tues, Thurs & Sat at The Mercury Mall, and after the huge success of the last few Weds at Ayra, we have made it our second home & are running official DWL sessions there every Weds for the foreseeable future!
We will always keep running our main sessions at The Mercury Mall but our next Ayra session is tonight from 5pm-11pm (join us anytime during these times).
You can find Ayra here:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/rqMM1rkcK8UEfRfb8
Ayra
101 Brentwood Rd,
Romford
RM1 2EH
In case you haven't been yet, Ayra's space is perfect for gaming - it's very large with many big tables (ideal for all types of games), full lighting & heating. Plus the food & drink options are exceptional.
EXCITING FREE & DISCOUNTED FOOD!🍔🍛...
After the 50% off offer ends at 6pm, they are still willing to offer us all 10% off all food every Weds plus another 10% of all your food orders will go to DWL.
AND! They will again do a free sampling of food during the session - including free tasters of things like chicken tikka, onion bhajis, their legendary naan bread, samosas & possibly more!
Vegi & Vegan options will be available too.
Ayra does have a Bangladeshi & Indian themed menu but it also has plenty of more Anglicised options as well including, but not limited to their signature burger - one of the best burgers I've ever had! No lie.
Plus all their food is homemade with 100% fresh & natural ingredients & yet is still excellent value for money.
☕GREAT SOFT & ALCOHOLIC DRINKS AVAILABLE AT AYRA🍺
Including their legendary Karak Chai!
We again won't charge an entry fee for this session (feel free to put that towards a drink or food) & kids are allowed too (well behaved ones of course 😉)
The pub is a 10min walk from Romford station, has plenty of free parking, & buses 165, 193 & 294 stop right outside with 370 & 496 stopping nearby too.
We will have a small range of popular items in stock as well as a library of games!
So please join us again this Weds & support DWL as well as a lovely local business whilst enjoying the usual fun & games.
Hope to see you there,
Dan ❤️🎴🎲🦐🍻

15 Years of Dinner Club (part 1) at L'Ulivo Charing Cross
It was back in 2011 that the very first Dinner Club took place. Here we are 15 years later meeting each month for an evening of food and fellowship.
So, the next two Dinner Club meals are to celebrate Dinner Club's 15 years - with this first meal at the lovely L'ulivo Italian restaurant on Villiers Street just next door to Charing Cross Station.
*Here at L'ulivo Charing Cross, located in 23 Villiers St (loo-lee-voh), our customers are the number one priority, and we‘ve been taking care of them our way for years. Freshly prepared authentic Italian cuisine is what we love and what keeps our customers coming back. We’ve always endeavoured to provide the best food, service and atmosphere of any London eatery.*
*All of the ingredients we use here at L'ulivo Charing Cross are just that: local. We stock our restaurant kitchen in much the same way that we stock our home kitchen, with daily deliveries of fresh ingredients that we select ourselves, at market each morning.*
You can check out the A La Carte Menu using the link below.
[L'Ulivo menu ](https://www.lulivocharingcross.uk/menu/menu?menu=677)
Our evening will begin at 6pm for those that wish to come for a pre-dinner drink at Retro Bar on George Court (just off The Strand). This is a great opportunity to meet and chat to others coming for the meal in a more relaxed and informal setting before going for the meal.
Our table at L'Ulivo is booked for 7.30pm. Please meet us there if you are not attending pre-dinner drinks.
Our previous meal at L'Ulivo was delicious and the staff were very attentive - so this should be a lovely way to start our 15th birthday celebrations.
If you would like to come along for this meal, please RSVP as soon as you can. You will need to pay a deposit of £11. £10 of which will go to your meal and the remaining £1 is split between PayPal and Meetup costs. Meetup will also charge a 'handling fee' that is part of their terms and conditions for hosting the group on their website.
I do not need pre-orders for this meal as we will order on the night.
Following the meal, for those of us that wish to, we will go on for post-dinner drinks (probably either back at Retro Bar or at Halfway to Heaven). This is a lovely way of rounding off the evening but is also non-compulsory to attend.
So, come along and celebrate 15 years years of Dinner Club - it'll be great to see you.

Freestyle + Karaoke ! ! ! (bring wine)
**Karaoke Night**: Bring your glee club friends. Enjoy a flashback to your choir days. No chorus line. It's all you baby. Sing. Shout. Scream. Lip sync if you need to. But do show up and do have a good time.
**On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours.
**Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass!
**Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing.
**Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,

Brunch Social at 17 Arrows Kitchen & Bar
Join us for a relaxed and enjoyable brunch at 17 Arrows Kitchen and Bar!
This is a great opportunity to meet new people, enjoy good food, and ease into the weekend with great conversation. Whether you’re new to the group or it’s your first event, you’ll feel right at home.
Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you.
**SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events.
**OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome.
**Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. Bring a bottle to share if you care to. See all the details below for the Hilliard Wine Club Wine Tasting. In Person. In Real Life. Actual Wine from glass bottles with corks and everything.
**Wine**: Tastings will be $15 for four samples as always. And you are welcome to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to share with others. Participation in the wine tastings is optional. But since you’re going, I will buy enough wine to cover you. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby.
**Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass!

Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine.
**Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
