Biggest Christian IRL singles party - Rooftop social (Islington)
Get your ticket here: https://www.fatsoma.com/e/bbbdatsj/biggest-christian-irl-singles-party-rooftop-social-islington
It’s been four years of BODA, where friendships, flirty IRL feels, snogs, and deep connections have all come together in rooms full of genuinely good people. And now, we’re introducing something a little new as part of our faith dating series.
**Welcome to BODA’s first ever IRL Christian singles social**
A night for Christian singles who want to meet in real life, not through a profile, not through endless DMs or algorithms.
We’ve seen countless numbers swapped, keys exchanged, holidays planned, weddings celebrated, and even BODA babies born. Whether it’s a spark of romance or a friend for life, we’re beyond thrilled with the magic that happens when people just meet offline.
Our socials have been called wholesome, even a real boost for single people’s mental health, which means a lot, because modern dating can be tough on both the head and the heart. So come for the rom-com energy, stay for the kind people and the easy conversation.
This time, we’re bringing those warm, fuzzy alpine ski-lodge feels to a rooftop: **the incredible Bubba Oasis** \- cosy corners\, city views\, and a room full of Christian singles ready to meet in the best way possible\.
**What to expect**
• **A singles-only club** \- no couples\, no families \- just a cosy rooftop lodge vibe designed for meeting like\-minded people\.
• **A community of Christian singles** who value intention, sincerity, slower, meaningful connections over swipe culture.
• **Our BODA hosts** on hand all night - welcoming you in, helping you settle (especially if you come solo), and keeping the vibe warm, safe and fun.
• **A strict no-creep policy.** Always lead with respect. If someone isn’t interested, we 'respect the rejection' and move on with kindness. We also have an anti-ghosting policy ❤️
Our hosts can’t wait to welcome you into this welcoming rooftop ski lodge scene - **come as you are, come solo if you want (95% of people do), and come ready to meet someone offline.**
See you there. We can’t wait to meet you! xo
Questions? DM us anytime or check us out on Instagram **@boredofdatingapps**.

CLH Talks: Should Humanists Eat Meat? — Dr Sapna Ramnani
**An ethical exploration of compassion, culture, and choice.**
Humanism asks us to live ethically using reason, evidence, and compassion. But what happens when those values meet one of our most everyday habits: eating meat?
In this talk, humanist speaker and journalist Dr. Sapna Ramnani invites us to step back from slogans, guilt, and culture-war arguments, and instead ask a deeper question:
If humanism is about reducing suffering and increasing wellbeing, whose suffering counts, and how far does our moral circle extend?
Drawing on philosophy, psychology, animal welfare evidence, and humanist ethics, this talk explores why the meat question provokes such strong emotions, how distance and habit shape our moral blind spots, and whether our ethical frameworks have kept pace with what we now know about animal sentience and industrial farming.
This is not a talk about telling anyone what to eat.
It is a reflective, humanist exploration of moral responsibility, compassion, and choice.
**What we’ll explore:**
* What humanism actually commits us to ethically
* Why meat-eating sits at the crossroads of identity, culture, and morality
* The role of “ethical” labels and animal welfare frameworks
* Psychological distancing and why suffering is easy to ignore
* Whether concepts like “farmed with care” withstand ethical scrutiny
* Coherent humanist positions on meat: reduction, contextual eating, and abstention
* The talk acknowledges real-world constraints, culture, health, access, economics, and rejects moral purity tests. Instead, it invites honest reflection, ethical curiosity, and compassion toward others and ourselves.
**Who is this talk for?**
Humanists interested in ethics, philosophy, and moral consistency
Anyone curious about animal ethics without dogma or judgment
People who enjoy thoughtful discussion and reflective talks
There will be time for questions and discussion.
You are not being asked to agree, only to think.
**We kindly request a contribution of £5 for lecture events to help cover marketing and venue hire costs.**
**Format for the evening:**
* Arrive from 6.30pm for drinks at the charity wine bar
* 7pm talk by Sapna
* 7.45 comfort break and drinks from the bar
* All profits go to Sapna’s charity choice — Brent and Harrow Remap

Film Club: A House Divided (Secret Film)
**This month:** A married couple’s decision to separate sets off a chain of events that entangles family duty, truth-telling, class tension, religious conscience, and the fragile trust between strangers. As each person struggles to act rightly within constraints they did not choose, conflicting accounts and partial truths emerge, leaving us unsure not only what happened, but what justice would require. This quietly gripping drama invites us to ask: when responsibilities collide, is there such a thing as a clean moral choice, or only degrees of harm we must learn to live with? **Can you guess the film?** Or come and find out on the day!
This year’s films all revolve around the theme of “**choice**” – plenty of opportunity for philosophical exploration!
PFA Film Club hosts free screenings of thought-provoking films, followed by a discussion about the raised philosophical issues, for general public. In 2026 meetings are held every third WEDNESDAY of the month at the Cafe of St. Hilda's East Community Centre, 18 Club Row, London E2 7EY. The nearest station is **Shoreditch High Street** on the Overground. The screening starts at 6:30 pm (or at **6pm for longer films**) and we need to vacate the building by 9:00pm. We offer complimentary light refreshments during the event.
