Masculinity Across Genres – Film Screening & Conversation
Masculinity Across Genres – Film Screening & Conversation
**Masculinity Across Genres** is a curated film screening and conversation. This event is for people especially men who want space to reflect on masculinity without judgement, performance, or having to “get it right”. Many men carry pressure, confusion and silence all at once but rarely have places to put it. Two short films one comedy, one sport and a open a guided conversation with the filmmakers in the room. You’re welcome to speak, respond to the films, or simply listen. Expect a focused screening, a thoughtful conversation, and space to reflect. London Krishnamurti Dinner & Dialogue
London Krishnamurti Dinner & Dialogue
Our Meetup is open to everyone and anyone interested in self knowledge, self awareness, relationship and discovering a totally new way of living. Here, together over supper, we talk about everyday life topics, in an atmosphere of attentive listening, sensitivity, kindness, openness and friendship. **WHAT TO EXPECT** * This group meets up TWICE MONTHLY to talk over and explore life topics together; such as Fear, Conditioning, Belief, Desire, Attachment etc... * The approach for our investigation is inspired by 20th Century (non religious/ non political) revolutionary thinker, J Krishnamurti. * The atmosphere for our dialogue is relaxed, openminded, serious, compassionate, fun and friendly. * We learn through direct observation, self discovery and careful listening to each other, rather than through already acquired experience or knowledge. **WHO'S IT FOR** * Those wishing to explore deeper issues of everyday life and relationship, in a non therapeutic, non religious but friendly atmosphere. * Those interested in the thinking of J. Krishnamurti, but this is NOT a prerequisite. * Those interested in meeting new like-minded friends. * Those feeling stuck, at a crossroads, or wishing to delve deeper. * All nationalities, cultures and backgrounds welcome. * All ages & diversity welcome. **WHAT HAPPENS AT THE MEETUP** * Our sessions won’t have any fixed theme; we will spontaneously raise a topic at the restaurant. Sometimes we may wish to investigate further into a topic: we can suggest a short K video that we can all view prior to the following weekly session together. * The mood is challenging but non-confrontational, investigative but non-intellectual, contemplative but non-religious and especially serious but also good fun! **NO FEES OR DUES** * We pay for our own meal at the restaurant * There is no charge for the organisation * You can [donate to OPEN DOOR](https://open-door-worldwide.com/donate/) if you appreciate this initiative. **ABOUT OUR GROUP** * This event is organised by [OPEN DOOR](https://open-door-worldwide.com) * OPEN DOOR is a non profit making organisation * Run by [Jackie McInley](https://open-door-worldwide.com/about/) **OTHER SIMILAR EVENTS** * [PLEASE VISIT HERE FOR MORE DIALOGUE & SELF-INQUIRY EVENTS](https://open-door-worldwide.com/events/) **ABOUT J. SOLD OUT • TEiP DEEP: A small group, deep dive into a single Thought Experiment
A **smaller, quieter, and less rushed** edition of THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBS. At TEiP DEEP, we have the chance to spend a whole hour and a half on **one thought experiment**, exploring different perspectives, coming up with new questions, listening and learning from one another. **How it works:** \- We split into small groups for each chapter of the thought experiment \(3\-4\)\. \- We shuffle every 25 mins to meet new people and change things up\. \- And at the end we'll have a brief group reflection\, sharing ideas and insights \- this will be lightly facilitated to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak if they want to \(no pressure\)\. Some simple ground rules to keep our conversation the best it can be: * respect for one another’s perspectives, beliefs, time (etc.) * confidentiality of personal stories * own your perspective * you don’t have to talk if you don’t want to. Our aim is the same as our bigger Thought Experiments in Pubs meetups: **a chance to meet and talk at about meaningful, thought provoking things**. Although we’ll be going a bit ‘deeper’, we’ll keep the intention to have an enjoyable evening, with good humour and fun. Places are limited to 15-20 people and tickets are £5. Please update your RSVP if you can no longer attend so that someone else can have your place. **Who should come:** Everyone! We believe that the more perspectives, the richer the conversation. This group is not about being experts in Philosophy, it is about *doing* philosophy. That is, bringing our various life experiences and lenses on the world to group discussions about the human experience, the nature of reality...etc. etc.... **Where we'll meet:** The Fitzroy Tavern in Fitzrovia. The nearest Tube stations are Goodge Street and Tottenham Court Road. Looking forward to meeting & talking with you :-) **[WHATSAPP GROUP](https://chat.whatsapp.com/D13LHw5BV3rEtUtO3ORklC)** \- stay in the loop **[INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/thoughtexperimentsinpubs/)** \- see what we look like **[FACEBOOK](www.facebook.com/thoughtexperimentsinpub)** \- ditto **[WEBSITE](www.alltogether.one)** \- sign up to the newsletter\, support\, & feed back \*\*[ALTERNATIVE PLATFORM FOR TICKETS](https://tribeirl.com/thought-experiments-in-pubs) \- tribe\*\* #philosophyinpubs #inclusivity #openmindedness #deepdive #TEiPdeep

Young Entrepreneurs Hangout — Lincoln Memorial Walk & Coffee
This is a **Saturday hangout for young entrepreneurs and builders** who want to meet like-minded people and actually make friends. We’ll meet at the **Lincoln Memorial**, on the **west side near the Reflecting Pool**, and take a walk around the area till the sun sets. Afterward, anyone who wants to keep hanging out can grab **coffee/tea or a small bite nearby (Maman)**. This isn’t a networking event or a pitch session. It’s for people who are interested in building things (or thinking about it) and want a solid group of people around them outside of work. You don’t need a startup, a title, or a plan - just be open to meeting people you’d actually want to hang out with again. Most people will be coming solo so don't be shy :)

The Journey of Love: From Agape to Philia
The Journey of Love: From Agape to Philia
What does love really look like—not in theory, but in lived experience? For this gathering of **Taproom Theology**, we’re doing something intentionally different. Rather than a single speaker or teaching, **individuals and couples have been invited to share their own stories**; stories of romantic love, deep friendship, commitment, loss, singleness, and the relationships that have shaped who they are. Love is often simplified or sentimentalized, yet most of us know it’s far more complex. As Taylor Swift puts it simply and honestly, **“The best people in life are free.”** This evening invites us to explore how love grows across its many forms: * *Agape* — self‑giving love that chooses presence over perfection * *Philia* — the love of friendship, loyalty, and shared life * And the evolving ways love shows up in partnerships, seasons of singleness, and chosen communities in the 21st century Some stories will come marriages or committed relationships. Others from friendships and yet others from the courage to be single without being alone. As C.S. Lewis reminds us, **“Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too?’”** This gathering is not about offering advice, fixing relationships, or presenting “ideal” stories. It’s about **witnessing real love** as it actually unfolds: flawed, faithful, hopeful, and human. Leo Buscaglia once wrote, **“Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.”** Whether you come with a partner, a friend, or on your own, you belong here. Because love isn’t something we master, it’s something we practice, in relationship and in community. Love is a journey. And tonight, we’ll travel it together.

BreadBreakers Community Dinner: Dialogue Over Divisions
BreadBreakers Community Dinner: Dialogue Over Divisions
**In a time of division and isolation, come be part of the community that's rebuilding the town square, one table at a time.** In BreadBreakers, we use the common space of the dining table to have conversations where neighbors can **hear, be heard, and know one another.** If you're hungry for good discourse and deeper community, join us for a Community Dinner in Reston and help blaze the trail to a healthier, more connected society and democracy. Here’s how it works: For just two hours, multiple tables of people set aside the need to "win" and instead focus on sharing, listening, and connecting.
