**Welcome to UK Mafia!** We meet at **The KINGS ARMS near London Bridge** on the Second Floor (see large function room). **Do I need to know anything beforehand?** This is a **beginner-only** event, and many will be playing with us for the first time. If you are new, **please arrive early if you can** to hear explanations of the rules, and so you get to play many games. We will also explain strategies. Most importantly, this is a social activity, so feel free to talk to anyone between the games and have fun! \* *If you are an intermediate player, there is also a separate intermediate table on the other side of the floor \** **️‍♂️ What is Mafia?** Have you seen 'The Traitors'? Play the game that 'Traitors' is based upon! Mafia is a 10-player social game; it can get competitive, but it's easy to learn. We play at multiple tables. You get a secret role and work with your team to win. A game lasts about 45 minutes, so we play many during the day. The **Mafia team** tries to hide and eliminate the **Citizens**, while the **Citizens** try to find the Mafia through deduction and logic. While this is a beginner-friendly event, we also host tournaments and online events with players from around the world. You will quickly see that the game has two phases: **Night:** * The Mafia secretly targets a Citizen * The *Don* (Mafia) learns if a player is the *Sheriff* * The *Sheriff* (Citizen) learns if someone is Mafia ☀️ **Day:** * Each player says in their turn who they think the Mafia are * Then, everyone votes publicly to eliminate one player The game continues until the Mafia are eliminated or they outnumber (or equal) the Citizens. **Adults-only board-gaming group for anyone in and around Belmont, Surrey!** The group has been running for a few months now and we currently have around 10-15 players each session. However, we'd love for you to join us! Whether you enjoy classic games (Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Chess, Scrabble, Risk, Mastermind, Uno) or prefer more modern favourites (Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders, Blokus, Flip7), there’s something for everyone. We welcome groups, couples and solo players. When you arrive, you can choose to have your own table or join a communal table—perfect for meeting new people to game with. The session run from **6pm to 10pm**. You’re welcome to stay for the whole evening or drop in whenever suits you. We want this to be a chilled and fun evening. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks. This can include alcohol if you wish as the venue is licensed. There is a kitchen which you are welcome to use to make hot drinks – tea and coffee are provided. We welcome and respect all individuals, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or neurodiversity. Come as you are—you’ll be warmly welcomed. Hi everyone! (pre-pandemic information) If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us on Monday evenings from 6pm until the pub closes around 11pm. Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as regular members will bring some along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already. You work late? No worries - you can join us any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 6pm (attendees tend to arrive around 6:30 or 7pm), don't worry :-) Everyone comes and goes when they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or the last to leave, Please write in the comments what time you expect to arrive at the pub, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long. We are a relaxed and friendly group, made up of both natives and foreigners, of locals and those living further afield, happy to welcome newbies and regulars. Events are free to attend, but it is respectable to the public venues we hold them at if you can buy at least one drink or some food while you are present, just like anyone else at the pub would do. Thursday nights are aimed at those with some experience of modern boardgames, and we tend to play more complicated games - anyone who is completely new, or mainly interested in olaying lighter games, should try to come on Mondays. Join us for a fun afternoon of board games and indie games in a private booking near 10 Cutter's lane in North Greenwich Peninsula. Please give me a message when you are nearby and I'll let you in! Bring your favorite game (that can be played in around 30 minutes) to share with the group and be ready for a fun casual time! The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind.
