We meet in Cedar Park or Leander every Sunday and sometimes get together mid-week. We are progressive, non-religious people. Attendance is about 6-10 (most don't RSVP here). We generally discuss what is going on in our lives, not as much religion and politics. Most of us deal with religious and conservative folks all week so this is OUR space to be OURSELVES. Peers in recovery who need to use a Wifi connection, a printer, or a desktop computer are welcome at the Communities for Recovery center between 1 and 4 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Our computer lab is ready to offer you online access to whatever you need to take the next step in your recovery journey!

These classes are gentle and effective for everyone, regardless of age, physical condition, or experience. They include breathing, alignment, balance, strengthening, toning, stretching, relaxation, and meditation. RSVP is required: through Meetup or by email, text, or phone (see below). Bring: A mat; a thick towel, blanket, or rug; and water. Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. The purpose of Yoga Asana isn't fitness. It is, in part, to take care of the body as our vehicle; and although this may include fitness, it should never be defined by it. Yoga Asana practice gives us the opportunity to become aware of the body and the life force within the body, helping us to experience that we are not the body but rather the eternal being within the body who needs fulfillment on a level that the body cannot satisfy. This experience can then lead us to the deeper yoga practices, which are centered around meditation (the heart of yoga) and spiritual inquiry about our eternal identity and purpose.
