## Details **Getting Ready for our May events!** 🧹📚 Join us to make our beloved Freethought Library sparkle and shine just in time for our upcoming 24hr Livestream and Fundraiser on May 16th-17th! We will be getting the library looking its best before this important community event. Whether you're one of our regulars, part of the Vanguard, or just looking to give back to the community, we welcome your helping hands! **When:** Saturday, May 9th, 2026 **Time:** 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (drop in whenever you can!) **Where:** The Freethought Library, of course! **What to Expect:** We'll be tackling a variety of tasks including: * Dusting shelves, furniture, and electronics * Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors and carpets * Light landscaping and outdoor cleanup (weather permitting) * General sprucing up and making the library look its best! **Event Details:** * **What to Bring:** Just yourself, clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty, and some comfy shoes. :D Cleaning supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you have equipment you prefer. * **Refreshments:** Light snacks, drinks, and coffee will be provided. * **Pets:** No pets allowed! While we always love to welcome everyone's furry friends, with so many moving parts and people going in and out of the building, we ask that you leave your pets at home. **So Join Us!** We encourage individuals, families, and groups to participate. **This is a wonderful opportunity to get together with Jason and Aja for a nice run/walk followed by lunch and possibly a recovery beverage of your choice!** This is a dog friendly event. We will stay outside on the deck at Red Horn so dogs are welcome! **We will meet at 9:30 for coffee and head out at 10:00**. The route is a beautiful out and back. We will have a turnaround spot at 1.5 miles but anyone needing to turn back sooner is welcome to. And for our overachievers, you will have time to do go an extra mile if you choose. We meet at lunch each week and each meeting follows a fairly organized agenda. First all participants pass their business cards around. Then each member and guest is invited to give a one-minute overview of their company and what is a perfect referral for the week. We always have a 10 minute presentation from one of the members about their business in more detail. And finally we pass referrals. You're welcome to visit. Nobody is ever put on the spot. Kim will lead us through a variety of old and new dances that welcome newbies and delight experienced dancers.** **Roscommon Sessions, a traditional Irish music quartet from Columbus, Ohio, began their musical journey centered around the energy and spontaneity of Irish sessions. They are excited to bring their lively jigs and reels, a couple of flowing waltzes, and the occasional musical surprise to the All Soles contra dancers!** **Roscommon Sessions is Steve Steele (guitar), Jim Lindroth (percussion), Carol Metheny (fiddle) and Sarah Sigmon (fiddle).** **We hope to see you dancing!** **Location: First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Road, Columbus, OH 43214.** **Cost is $10 for adults, $5 ages 12-25.** **New to dancing? A beginners’ session, from 1:30 to 2:00 PM, will get you started. Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area.
