The Aldous Huxley Experience. You don’t want to miss this.
Hi everyone,
Each month we come together to explore new perspectives, challenge our thinking, and dive into the conversations that great books inspire. Our purpose is simple and meaningful: **to learn, to connect, and to nurture the richness of our human experience — one book, one dialogue, one gathering at a time.**
After *Brave New World* was recently presented to the Zug Book Club, the unanimous sentiment was clear: **we want to go deeper.**
So we’re delighted to invite you to:
**✨ The Aldous Huxley Experience**
**When:** March 26 at 19:00
**Where:** Falkenstrasse 28a, 8008 Zürich
This isn’t a standard museum visit — it’s a rare chance to immerse yourself in the world of Aldous Huxley at the **Zürich Aldous Huxley Centre**, which is dedicated to Huxley and supports the study and teaching of his works, including *Brave New World*. The centre also hosts a major exhibition of his complete works, with a substantial portion permanently exhibited at **Huxley Hall** at **Falkenstrasse 28a**, 8008 Zurich. [\[huxleycentre.ch\]](https://www.huxleycentre.ch/)
✅ **RSVP:** Reply to this message with **“I’m in”** (and feel free to bring a friend who loves big ideas).
More about the centre here: [Aldous Huxley Centre Zurich](https://www.huxleycentre.ch/)
Warmly,
Nela
Hackergarten March
We're planning the next Hackergarten Zurich 🥳 We're looking forward to see some familiar faces and share knowledge within the open-source community. Spread the word — everyone is welcome! Bring your project, a bug, a feature, a question... or just your time and enthusiasm 💜 As always there will be free drinks, beer and pizza, sponsored by Quatico.
As usual we briefly present the open-source projects we'd like to work on, break up into groups and try to make an actual contribution. We offer free pizza, beverages and depending on weather conditions a great view on Zurich West from the rooftop terrace.
Many thanks to Quatico (https://www.quatico.com) for hosting the event!

We‘ll do a traditional version and then look at different scientific techniques to translate the recipe into a delicious vegan dish.
Participation requires a short vibe check by me (phone or text), to avoid inviting debate-bros, MLM-people, cryptospammers and right-wingers.

Interactive Cooking Experience
Join us for an interactive Cooking Experience – an exciting, hands-on event where we explore agile collaboration while creating and enjoying a three-course gourmet meal together.
This event is ideal for international Meetup members who enjoy learning by doing, are curious about agile teamwork, and like the idea of turning a kitchen into a playful “scrum space”. No prior agile or cooking experience is required—just a willingness to collaborate, experiment and have fun.
**What to expect**
Together with a professional agile coach and experienced cook, you will form a **cross-functional** kitchen team and experience three “iterations”:
* Appetizer
* Main course
* Dessert
Before each course, we briefly align on what we want to create (including dietary needs such as gluten-free, vegetarian, allergies, etc.), decide who takes which role (chopping, cooking, seasoning, serving, evaluating, cleaning up), then cook, eat and reflect together in a short retrospective. You do not need to be an experienced cook – there are meaningful roles for everyone.
**Event details**
* Date and time:
Saturday, 28 March 2026, 14:30–approx. 19:30
* Duration:
Approx. 5 hours, including arrival, briefing, preparation, cooking, serving, eating, reflection and clean‑up.
* Cost per person:
CHF 49 (all inclusive: coaching, full 3‑course menu, non-alcoholic drinks; alcoholic beverages available at additional cost).
* **MUST BE PREPAID** to confirm your spot.
IBAN: CH 79 0028 7287 8357 0041 L
Name: Adina and Bert van Kampen
* Group size:

The event takes place in a professional kitchen at Restaurant Krone in Randegg (DE), just across the border from Schaffhausen, in a cosy village setting
Address: Otto-Dix-Str. 21, D–78244 Gottmadingen-Randegg
* By car:
Easily accessible from Winterthur and the wider region; parking available nearby.

**Brunch • Beats • Rooftop Vibes**
Sundays in Zurich deserve a better soundtrack.
On **Sunday, March 29**, we’re heading up to the rooftop terrace of **Hiltl Dachterrasse** for a special **Rooftop Sunday Social** – where brunch culture meets house music and great company.
From **10:00 to 14:30**, the legendary rooftop of Hiltl turns into a daytime playground with brunch, drinks, sunshine, and electronic beats. Think of it as the Sunday version of the new **coffee rave trend** — relaxed, social, and full of energy, just earlier in the day and with amazing views over Zurich.
**Zurich Together will have its own table**, so our crowd can start the day together, grab brunch, and warm up with familiar faces. From there, you can stay with the group or mingle with the wider party crowd on the terrace and dancefloor.
Expect a fun mix of locals and internationals, open-minded people between **18 and 45**, and the kind of atmosphere where conversations start easily and Sundays suddenly become much more exciting.

There are almost always 1-2 people dropping out at the last minute, so please feel free to sign up for the waiting list. I will send you a message with the location (private home) a day before the event.
To create a colourful potluck, please bring your favourite HOMEMADE vegan meal for at least 4 people to share. This will lead to a delicious variety of new things to try.
Everyone is welcome :)
No need to bring your own tableware.
p.s. If you are coming by car and you have space, please share in the group for potential car pooling.
We are looking forward to meeting you :)

Let's try a Friday Night Fish Fry!
We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM.
It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
March Book Club Meetup
Welcome, readers!
Our March read is **_The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver._**
The story follows Taylor Greer, a young woman from rural Kentucky who leaves home for the West, only to find herself unexpectedly becoming the guardian of an abused Native American toddler named Turtle. In Tucson, Arizona, they form a makeshift family with a diverse group of people, including Guatemalan refugees and a single mother, exploring themes of motherhood, community, belonging, and finding hope in hardship. The story blends humor with serious issues, creating a story about finding family in unexpected places.
Looking forward to discussing with everyone!
We will meet at Zaftig Brewing Co in their event room in the back. We are welcome to bring in our own food, but **drinks must be purchased at the bar.**
Happy reading! 📖

Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
**Our April novel is: *The Hong Kong Widow* by Kristen Loesch**
**This month’s novel blends gothic atmosphere with historical fiction and chilling horror, set against the haunting backdrop of China. The book is 368 pages in print and 10 hours and 42 minutes on audiobook.**
In 1950s Hong Kong, Mei is a young refugee of the Chinese Communist revolution struggling to put her past in Shanghai behind her. When she receives a shocking invitation—to take part in a competition in one of the city's most notorious haunted houses, pitting six spirit mediums against one another in a series of six séances over six nights, until a single winner emerges—she has every reason to refuse.
Except that the hostess, a former Shanghainese silent film star, is none other than the wife of the man who once destroyed Mei’s entire life.
It is promised the winner will receive a fortune, but there is only one prize Mei wants: revenge.
Decades later, the final night of that competition has become an infamous urban legend: The police were called to the scene of a brutal massacre but found no evidence, dismissing it as a collective hallucination. Mei knows what she saw, but now someone else is convinced they know what she did. She must uncover the truth about the last night she ever spent in that house—even if the ghosts of her past are waiting for her there. . . .
