Social Sips & Bites Friends With the closing of Whino in Ballston, we find ourselves looking for a new place to hang out. In pursuit of that goal, let's check out Nettie's Tavern in Clarendon. A short walk from the Clarendon Metro, Netties is in the space that used to be Whitlow's. With any luck, some of the magic that made Whitlow's a legend still lingers in those walls, but we'll have to check them out to know for sure. The Happy Hour specials run until 6:00P, and include $5 draft beers, $5 whiskey, $5 wine, and $5 pepperoni rolls. I've heard good things about the food that's on the full menu, so if you're looking for dinner, it might be a good option to check out. Local members of Ohio Paper Folders are invited to our home Fourth of July cookout and fireworks show. This will be on Sat July 4th. This is a four grill (plus a big-ass smoker) cookout with burgers, brats, veggi burgers, salmon burgers, roasted corn and lots of sides (feel free to bring a side). The fireworks show is...huge. 760 mortars plus four tables of multi-shot cakes. (anything worth doing is worth over-doing). We start cooking around 5:00 PM, end when everyone is stuffed.
