* avec Thierry Janssen, revisiter l’Égypte ancienne où le soin du vivant formait un projet moral et spirituel ;
* avec Marie-Hélène Straus, écouter la sagesse des Kogis, peuple qui n’a jamais rompu l’alliance avec la Terre ;
* avec Christian Arnsperger, interroger notre présent et la possibilité d’une économie des profondeurs au-delà du capitalisme.
\*\*\*\*

★ Erasmus, Expats & Internationals meetings for Socializing★Ⓜ️ Bastille
The week feels endless and you can’t see the finish line? Friday blues hitting you hard? Come take a break with us and shake off the gloom of everyday life!
**On the program:** chatting over a drink – or two – to get to know each other, social games… And if you want to practice your English (or any other language), don’t hesitate! Many internationals will be there, since we also meet to encourage cultural and language exchanges. An icebreaker game is suggested to meet more people – just ask the organizer.
We’ll be a big group, often more than fifty people, so the idea is to talk to everyone – that’s the Friday concept, with the app :)
Tall, short, slim, curvy, old, young, beautiful, not-so-beautiful – come as you are, we’ll welcome you with open arms.
Two key words: friendliness and curiosity.
Come at the time that suits you, but the earlier you arrive, the more you enjoy the vibe!

Paste da Latte 24.04
Paste da latte are soft, delicate Italian milk rolls, loved for their light texture, gentle sweetness, and comforting homemade feel.
In this class, we’ll focus on the techniques that make them so special—creating a smooth, elastic dough, working with the right balance of milk and butter, and shaping the rolls so they bake up soft, fluffy, and beautifully golden. Expect little breads that are tender, fragrant, and perfect for breakfast or an afternoon treat, plus plenty of tips to recreate them at home with confidence.

April Book Club: Why I Write by George Orwell
For the meeting in April, we'll read and discuss Why I Write by George Orwell
Sorry for the short notice to those who were there in the previous book club - having to do on an earlier date as I am no longer available on the 2nd of May - the date discussed during the meeting
Description from Goodreads:
Whether puncturing the lies of politicians, wittily dissecting the English character or telling unpalatable truths about war, Orwell's timeless, uncompromising essays are more relevant, entertaining and essential than ever in today's era of spin.
**\*New to book club? You're welcome to join our discussion. We'll discuss our thoughts on the book and share related topics.**

\*\*\*
\*\*\*
Participation
• Tarif standard : 50 €
• Tarif solidaire : 35 € (RSA, chômage)

Bookish Cafe: The Handmaid's Tale
Welcome to our bookish club. This time, we will be discussing a great modern classic: *The Handmaid’s Tale*.
Margaret Atwood’s novel invites us into a world that feels both distant and uncomfortably familiar. A society where control, identity, and freedom are constantly negotiated and often stripped away.
This is a story, a reflection on how fragile rights and autonomy can be, and how easily they can be reshaped or taken away.
As for discussing the book, let’s think about the themes that stood out most to us, the moments that made us pause, and how this story resonates with today’s world or even your own world experience and view. This is an opportunity to explore, question, and share perspectives.
Let’s dive in.
PS: This event is free, but please sign up only if you are truly willing to come to the event. Thank you! I will check up with you beforehand. :)

In this class, we will discuss how to raise mushrooms on logs outdoors as a way to raise food in parts of your yard that are usually too shady to grow vegetables or other crops.
We will discuss what mushroom species can be cultivated, what tree species they can grow on, and demonstrate how to prepare and inoculate the logs. By following these steps, you can have your own bountiful mushroom harvest!

Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Richard Ades**
**Band: The McKenzies**
**Clinton Heights Lutheran Church**
**15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
