This PGCC Hand Dance class is taught by the "7" Step Hand Dance Academy. The "7" Step Hand Dance Academy is a non-profit organization, dedicated to teaching, preserving, and promoting the African American art form of D.C. Hand Dancing. If you have ever wanted to learn how to hand dance, come join us. Not only will have fun learning how to hand dance, but you will make new friends in the process! This is a 8-week course. Philadelphia based **Box and String Trio** (Bill Quern, Sarah Gowan, and Laura Alexander) play instrumental traditional roots music from the American Appalachians, England, Canada, Scandinavia, and France as well as original music composed in traditional styles. With a combined instrument collection that includes guitar, mandolin, concertina, melodeon, 4 & 5 string banjo, fiddle, cello, harmonica, jaw harp and foot percussion they provide a varied and entertaining program.
