Cross Stitch

In this full day BERNINA Stitchwise event, experiment with a multitude of sewing techniques as you complete a stylish and functional zippered pouch — **all supplies provided!** Led by nationally known BERNINA instructor **Sandra Swick**, you’ll explore a patchwork of creative possibilities — decorative stitching, couching, free-motion quilting, stitching on vinyl, adding zipper, embroidery, all the way to quilting in the hoop! This workshop features BERNINA’s top of the line BERNINA 9, 7 and 5 Series machines, and the L 890 Serger, with students sharing machines (you’ll have hands-on experience on each model). Join DC Metro Crafts for a field trip. We'll be at Quill and Crumbs, the cafe at the Shakespeare Folger Library. The Shakespeare Folger Library is about 3 blocks from the Capitol South metro. Head up First as you get out of the station, pass the Library of Congress and the Capitol, turn right on East Capitol, and the Folger is on the right. The entrance is around the side, not through the front of the building. Head upstairs to the cafe and we'll be at the tables at the back. Bring your own cross stitch, knitting, crochet, or other portable craft. We'll be in the back at the group tables.

Come Craft with us at either the MLK Library or the Kogod atrium of the Portrait Gallery. There are generally knitters/crocheters/needle workers in both places. Our success has made us a fairly large group so we are meeting in both places on Saturdays. Don't let the lack of RSVPs stop you, they aren't required, nor is membership to our group. Bring your project and join a boisterous group of crafters in first floor of either building.

Hi All! I wanted do something big a little different. I have recently experienced th trials and tribulations of cancer treatments for my mother in law. Through this time I have seen a ton of support fromm people far wide. To give back a little I wanted to donate some bracelets. There were some that were made and given to the patients at the cancer center. I thought we could’ve come together and make the bracelets to donate. I have an excess amount of beads and things that we can use and if you would like to donate that would be great as well. I got a some cancer ribbon and hope charms to add a special touch. Come join in making bracelets for cancer!

We’ll have some adult themed coloring books available to choose from as well as colored pencils. These are to enjoy *at the event*, not to take home with you.
