Join us Friday evening for the Bethesda Art Walk! From 6 - 8pm you can enjoy a guided short walking tour of five participating galleries and studios in downtown Bethesda. Meet the artists, view the art, and enjoy light refreshments at each stop! We'll start at Gallery B's 2026 Bethesda Painting Awards! There were more than 500 talented applicants this year, and the jury awarded 4 prizes. Amy Kaslow is exhibiting the work of two Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonists with some of the finest lampoons called “What’s So Funny?” Syndicated cartoonists Nick Anderson and Mike Luckovich take daily swipes in newspapers and summon us to reflect and repair. Triangle Art Studios is excited to welcome guest artist Alexis Limpiado! She is a Philippine-born artist now based in Frederick, MD. Unfortunately, I already made plans for Knit in Public Day, but I thought it would be nice to get together for some stitching over the weekend. This is going to be a super-casual event. The start and end times are really just suggestions. Come out whenever you get a chance and stay for as long as you feel like. All crafts are welcome, as well as all skill levels. Or just come out to chat about crafts with a bunch of super-cool crafters. My plan is to arrive around noon, eat some lunch, do some knitting, eat some more, stitch some more, etc. until it's time to go home. Aslin has a full menu of pub food and pizza, as well as a wide selection of craft beer and soft drinks. Hope to see you there!

Mary Cassatt is one of America's greatest female painters, and she painted women in a time of turbulent change. Sometimes, a painting of a mother with a child is also a painting of a suffragette! Join us at the National Gallery to take a deeper look at 40 of Cassatt's works, including some rarely shown.
