Have you ever wondered what mysteries lie out there outside the earth? If so, this may be the right event for you. Welcome to the London Society’s first stargazing event where all of this is possible. thanks to ‘The Baker Street Irregular Astronomers’, we’ll be able to gaze at the mysteries through their telescopes pin pointed at their discoveries made. With this particular event and during the evening, we should be able to gaze at Jupiter near the stars ‘Castor’ & ‘Pollux’, Venus or the evening star as it’s known, Saturn, Leo the lion, Orion the hunter. the leo triplet consisting of the M65 & M66 galaxies, the M81 Bode’s galaxy, the M82 Cigar galaxy, the M51 Whirlpool galaxy and the M104 Sombrero galaxy. Here is the itinerary for the evening: 7:15pm - 7:30pm: Await the members 7:30pm - 8pm: Depart to the destination 8pm onwards: Gaze at the mysteries through the telescopes and the naked eye. Come along on Saturday 28th March for treasure hunt around the historic area of Clerkenwell! The treasure hunts are a good way to get to know a museum, gallery or area of London whilst meeting new people. **About the area** Clerkenwell took its name from the Clerks' Well in Farringdon Lane. Which came from 'Clerken' which is an old English word meaning literate person or clergyman. The Monastic Order of the Knights Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem had its English headquarters at the Priory of Clerkenwell. The order was founded to provide medical assistance during the crusades and St. John's Gate (built in 1504) survives in the rebuilt form of the Priory Gate. In the 17th century before Clerkenwell became a built-up area, it had a reputation as a resort a short walk out of the city, where Londoners could disport themselves at its spas, springs, tea gardens and theatres. In the 20th century, the area was associated with radicalism and in 1902, Vladimir Lenin moved the publication of the Iskra to 37a Clerkenwell Green, and issues 22 to 38 were edited there. It is said that Lenin and a young Joseph Stalin met in the Crown and Anchor pub (now known as The Crown Tavern) on the Green when the latter was visiting London in 1903. **How it works** Come along at 1:30pm and you will be randomly divided into teams of 3 people (or you can choose your own team beforehand). For fairness, any London Guides or Blue Badge Tour Guides won't be allowed to take part. Then each team will be given 15-20 written clues which you have to find the answers for. It's up to your team to work together to find the answers. The answers will be found on blue plaques or statues. You can answer them in any order and you will be provided with a map of the area to help you. It's not a race, so you can take your time getting to know Clerkenwell. The treasure hunts are a good way to get to know the an area of London whilst meeting and getting to know new people! **Prizes** The team to get the most correct answers and then return to base (a local pub or cafe) will win book vouchers for Waterstones bookshops of £10 per person. If more than one team gets the top score, there will be a tie break question back at the pub. Дюны Северного моря и национальный парк Norfolk Broads — неповторимое и особенное путешествие, которое обязан совершить каждый, хоть раз в жизни😍! Мы отправляемся на **побережье северного Норфолка**, которое славится первозданной природной красотой. Возможно, именно поэтому его облюбовали **тюлени🦭**, обитающие здесь круглый год. Грациозные в воде и немного неуклюжие на суше, с трогательными мордочками, огромные самцы, изящные самочки и крохотные детеныши🦭 — весь пляж просто усыпан животными, а воздух наполнен их криками. Ещё местечко **Horsey Gap** прославилось тем, что в 2015 году на его пляже родились первые в мире официально зарегистрированные тюлени-двойняшки. Вы можете наблюдать за морскими созданиями со специально оборудованных смотровых площадок или отважиться и подойти как можно ближе. Но не стоит забывать, что на суше тюлени чувствуют себя уязвимо, а потому необходимо обращать внимание на обозначения огороженных участков, созданных ради безопасности как людей, так и животных. Нас ждет потрясающее зрелище, которое подарит море впечатлений, эмоций и множество замечательных фотографий📸. После неспешной прогулки мы пообедаем в пабе🍲 [Nelson Head](http://thenelsonhead.com/) и отправимся в крупнейший водный заповедник Европы – Национальный парк **Norfolk Broads**. Его площадь составляет 303 квадратных километра, а ландшафт состоит из сплетения 7 рек и более 60 озер. Парк славится птичьими заповедниками, в которых можно увидеть сов (сипуха), выпь, зимородков. Для детального исследования Norfolk Broads предусмотрены пешие маршруты, велосипедные дорожки, аренда лодок и катеров, в том числе для рыбалки. Мы совершим прогулку на **речном круизном лайнере⛴️**, продолжительностью полтора-два часа. Во время путешествия вы можете наблюдать с верхней палубы за прекрасными пейзажами заповедника, а также виднеющимися то тут, то там небольшими церквушками, старинными домиками с соломенными крышами, амбарами и ветряными мельницами, которые стали своего рода визитной карточкой этих мест📸. Кроме того, есть большая вероятность встретиться с «хозяевами тростниковых зарослей» – выдрами, оленями, зайцами и множеством птиц🕊️. Если спуститься в гостиную на нижнюю палубу лайнера, можно прекрасно отдохнуть за чашкой чая или кофе с десертом в полностью укомплектованном баре. Небольшие размеры нашего очаровательного лайнера позволяют ему изучать самые отдаленные уголки многогранной Англии. Do you want to meet new people in a relaxing chill atmosphere surrounded by new books? Do you dislike loud and smelly places like pubs and clubs? This is the event for you. Science and Philosophy Book Club is creating a new kind of meetup where people who love books and knowledge can meet new friends in a big book shop. We will explore around different sections of the book shop together as a group while making interesting conversations with each other. We will go to both fiction and non-fiction areas. If you feel shy and feel nervous to come alone, I will make sure you will feel comfortable and accomodate to your needs. I will help introduce you to others so you can go over the barrier of anxiety when approaching a new person. We will meet on the ground floor lounge area of Doubletree Hilton Hotel at 6 p.m. It is an amazing cosy bar with classy vibes. We will wait for everyone to show up while getting some drinks and socializing. At 7 p.m we will head to the Waterstones book store near Russel Square and UCL. After we explore the book store, we will come back to the hotel bar and stay there for the rest of the night. This event requires £5 donation to cover the venue fees. You can pay via cash or card.
