**You will find us in the games area in the lower section of the pub.** Please ensure you read these: [Rules](https://www.londononboard.com/rules-regulations) We don't allow Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly, Roleplaying games, Magic the Gathering, Mafia, Werewolf etc. at LoB as there are other venues or groups for that and we want to make sure that there is enough space for board games. We want everyone that comes to our events to have a good time, and we know that some games require more communication than others. Please be mindful that we are in a small space and that other members will need to explain rules and focus. As a small group of volunteers, we are very dependent on the good will of our venues to host us for free. It is vitally important that everyone attending LoB buys food and drink to ensure that we can build and maintain those relationships with our venues. If you have any feedback about the venue, please report it to us directly rather than speaking to the staff. You must only attend if you have a place, i.e. that you have made it off the waitlist. If you can no longer attend, please mark your RSVP as ‘Not Going’, ideally more than an hour before the event starts. Please be aware that an organiser may ask to see proof of RSVP.

Details on the film + drinks before below. **PREMISE** Send Help Movie: A brutal island survival thriller where trust erodes, past wounds resurface, and the mind becomes the deadliest enemy. When Sam Raimi returns to the horror-thriller genre, expectations naturally run high—and Send Help does not disappoint. Slated for release on February 6, 2026, in the United Kingdom, this intense survival drama blends psychological warfare, dark humor, and relentless tension into one of the most compelling cinematic experiences of the year. Starring Rachel McAdams, Dylan O’Brien, and genre icon Bruce Campbell, Send Help transforms a familiar survival setup into a gripping battle of wills. What begins as a fight against nature slowly evolves into a disturbing confrontation between two broken people forced to rely on each other—or destroy each other—to survive. **TRAILER** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4wiXj9NmEE **CINEMA TICKETS** https://www.myvue.com/book-tickets/summary/10030/HO00020919/304791 **DRINKS** We can go for a drink before the movie at The Imperial. **SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN** 15.00 - drinks at The Imperial, 5 Leicester St, London WC2H 7BL 15.30 - film at Vue Cinema London - West End (Leicester Square) - 3 Cranbourn St, London WC2H 7AL **ADDRESS AND DETAILS** Vue Cinema London - West End (Leicester Square) - 3 Cranbourn St, London WC2H 7AL

Sundays 1.30pm, volleyball coaching course, beginner/intermediate, Fulham
Want to develop yourself as a volleyball player? Come and improve your skills every Sunday on the volleyball course. It's for beginners, improvers and intermediate level players to focus more on intensive development and less on game time. Please note that this is a course and not a pay as you go weekly session. You need to book the full course on our website using a bank card, PayPal, or Apple Pay. Note that we manage bookings and post updates on the booking page on our website, not on meetup: https://playfit.co.uk/w/volleyball/ If you prefer to pay as you go then you can book the Mon 7.20pm coaching session in Wimbledon and the Sat 11.10am coaching session in Fulham on our website. LARPing AGM
LARPing AGM
We'll be getting together at the Orpington OLC to discuss all things LARP at our Annual General Meeting. Feel free to come along and have your say, or just listen in for a peek under the hood of what goes into the hobby. We'll have the room from midday but I'm not expecting the meeting to start until 1pm to give everyone time to get there and have lunch - there are plenty of food options available a short walk down the High Street. We've got the room till around 5:30, and while I don't expect the meeting to take that long, it's always a good opportunity to socialise (and after that time we'll be able to move out to the main bar area and continue as long as we like). The club is very well known for its CAMRA-award winning beers and ales, as well as a great selection of ciders. The address is 7 Station Road Orpington Kent BR6 0RZ, and there's a small amount of parking for anyone who wants to drive. For those coming by train, get off at Orpington Station and walk down the hill, the OLC is directly opposite the Tesco's at the bottom. Just to note, the OLC is a private member's club, so there will be a sign-in process and a £1 charge for anyone who is not a member (the club takes card only, no cash).

LCC CITY DRIFTING: Isle of Dogs to Thamesmead [WEST LONDON]
LCC CITY DRIFTING: Isle of Dogs to Thamesmead [WEST LONDON]
Welcome back ramblers, rovers, loungers and loafers and happy 2026! It's a new year, but we're picking where we left off, in the onetime capital of cockney London with its dockworkers and gangsters, the Isle of Dogs - which became the landing-pad for an invasion of alien Thatcherites in the 1980s with the construction of Canary Wharf, which now towers over the council estates and parklands of this misunderstood peninsula. From there we'll head west, looking eventually to end up in the Brutalist wonderland (featured in Kubrick's *Clockwork Orange*!) of Thamesmead, possibly by way of the free Woolwich Ferry service from north shore to south. Meet at Canary Wharf station, out in front of the big curved class canopy. Elizabeth Line services at Abbey Wood will get us home. See you there! Check planned TfL disruptions here - our day should be all clear for most everybody: https://content.tfl.gov.uk/planned-track-closures.pdf A little background on our City Drifting project here: **Now just wait a minute. What the hell is a drift ([dérive](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9rive))?** A drift is any unplanned journey through the urban landscape in which participants practice a form of radical mindfulness, collectively exploring new ways of relating mentally, ideologically and materially to the "ordinary" urban environment we all think we know so well. First theorised publicly by Situationist thinker, artist and provocateur Guy Debord in his 1956 essay *[Theory of the Dérive](https://libcom.org/article/theory-derive-guy-debord)*, drifting is a sort of *critique of ideology* done by walking, looking, and feeling. **The urban environment of London is not a neutral space:** it is packed with surveillance equipment, anti-homeless architecture, consumerist [Gruen transfers,](https://www.smartcapitalmind.com/what-is-the-gruen-transfer.htm) crowd management systems and security perimeters, among a thousand other subtle and not-so-subtle methods of population control. Moreover, our everyday relationship to the city and its pathways is conditioned deeply by our habits of movement and our habitual perceptions: our commute to work, to school, our nips down to the shops, etc. **All these routines create what Marxists call a *reified* relationship with the urban environment: through over-familiarity it becomes something seemingly natural, "just there", ordinary, unchangeable - boring.** This boredom and familiarity kills the radical imagination, without which we're fucked. To be able to start to imagine how society could be transformed, we also need to imagine how spaces, buildings, their use, their whole purpose (and who these serve) could themselves be transformed. A necessary step in this process, according to Debord and the Situationists, is the drift. Like the 19th-century gentleman *[flâneur](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fl%C3%A2neur),* by wandering the city with an attitude of "fresh eyes", we can shake loose our ingrained sense of what London and its streets are like. **As a collective, we will work to "estrange our senses" and see the streets, buildings and people differently, as if we were encountering them for the first time.** That is to say: these aren't just random walks around London - with the right frame of mind, they will be opportunities to turn the world upside down, if only for a moment! But don't take it from me - as Debord observed: *"In a dérive one or more persons during a certain period **drop their relations, their work and leisure activities, and all their other usual motives for movement and action, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there.** Chance is a less important factor in this activity than one might think: from a dérive point of view cities have [psychogeographical](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychogeography) contours, with constant currents, fixed points and vortexes that strongly discourage entry into or exit from certain zones."* See you on the streets comrades, and remember, as [Raoul Vaneigem](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raoul_Vaneigem) once wrote: *"All space is occupied by the enemy. We are living under a permanent curfew. Not just the cops — the geometry".*

Sunday Dungeons & Dragons Meetup
Sunday Dungeons & Dragons Meetup
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO TAKE PART? You just need to RSVP using the button on this page, and show up on Sunday. That is true for both DMs and players. You must be 18+ to attend. If this is your first time or looking to join a game, please find the Sunday Hosts Edward or Jason on your arrival. We will point you towards a game you can join. **Unless you have spoken to Jason or Edward beforehand about reserving tables/rooms at the pubs, you are NOT allowed to do so. I cannot state the importance of being able to rotate the availability of the rooms with other attendees/general pub goers in case the Pub needs them.** **The rooms should only be used by attendees who have a group plus DM or attendees who are DMing on the day. Otherwise I will assign you to the tables around the pub. This is non-negotiable.** TIMES Please ensure you arrive between 12:30pm and 1.00pm. **If you arrive later than 1pm, it may not be possible to find you a game.** I'VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE, IS THAT A PROBLEM? Nope! You do not have to have previous experience of D&D or another tabletop role-playing game. We will have newbie-friendly games on Sunday. WHAT DO I HAVE TO BRING? Nothing. If you have dice, paper and pencil, and a Player’s Handbook, then bring them, but it’s not a problem if you don’t. We can lend you everything you need including a pre-generated character. I'M NOT FROM THE UK, THAT ISN'T A PROBLEM, RIGHT? Actually, we have loads of members from other countries; at times, we’ve had more ex-pats than Brits. We get a lot of people joining who’ve just moved to London from another country, left their old D&D friends behind, and who are looking for a new gaming group, so you don’t need to worry about not fitting in. The one catch is that your English does need to be OK. You don't have to be perfectly fluent, but roleplaying’s a language-based activity and if your listening isn't decent you may have trouble following what’s going on. Lots of our members speak more than one language, but we can't guarantee that we can place you in a game with someone who can interpret for you. DUNGEON MASTERS We are always on the look-out for DMs. If you would like to run a game, please PM Edward_w or Jason Sia. HYGIENE & ANTI-COVID GUIDELINES If you are symptomatically ill or suspect/know you have caught covid in the last 10 days but are asymptomatic, please do NOT attend. Please wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth and/or a face shield whenever possible. This is not a rule, merely a request. Please avoid sharing food. Please wash your hands and/or use hand sanitiser gel frequently. Please maximise social distancing where possible and keep social mixing to a minimum. If you test positive for covid after attending an event, please contact Zander the Meetup Organiser, immediately. If possible, please let Zander know your Dungeon Master's name. If your venue has stricter rules than those outlined above, please follow those rules. **VENUES AND MONEY MATTERS** There is no charge, membership fee or subscription. However, a collection tin may be circulated by the Organiser/Assistant Organiser/Host towards the running of the Meetup. There is a recommended donation of £2 cash per attendee (DM or player), but contributions are purely voluntary: you are under no obligation. We do not track or record who donates what (and for that reason, donations by Paypal etc are not accepted). **The venues are businesses and, as such, rely on us spending on food and drink while we are there**. Our continued use of the venues is dependent upon it. Please spend as much as you reasonably can; if you are thinking of having lunch at your venue, please do. The venues have vegetarian and vegan options. Please do NOT bring drink from outside except tap water in a transparent plastic bottle. Please do NOT bring food from outside. Bringing food or drink (except tap water) from outside can result in you being permanently banned by the venue's management. Guide dogs are absolutely fine. Other dogs and pets may not be permitted subject to the discretion of the Pub Staff & Organisers. If you have any questions, please post it in the comments below or PM Edward_w or Jason, the Sunday Hosts.
