Designing APIs & Building Contextual Chatbots | Data Engineering Meetup
Two talks. One evening. Plenty of ideas to take home. We’re ready to kick things off for another Berlin Meetup, and are happy to present the speakers of the evening:
**[Jens Wriske](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jens-wriske-8b538a397/):** ***"Designing APIs on top of Data Platforms using Databricks"***
Modern data platforms increasingly follow a lakehouse architecture, where data remains owned and governed by domain teams rather than application developers. This session explores how APIs can be designed on top of Azure Databricks to provide access to heterogeneous data sources without duplicating or owning the underlying storage layer.
**[Tanuj Jain](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tanuj-jain-10/): *"The Story Behind the Story: "Building a Contextual News Chatbot."***
Most news readers lack the background to fully engage with the stories they encounter. This talk walks through the development of a chatbot embedded in a news article page for a German news publisher, designed to give readers on-demand context about what they're reading. We share the key technical and product decisions made along the way, and what we learned about building an AI feature that sits at the intersection of editorial and user experience.
✧ ✧ ✧
**What to expect:**
* Two expert talks and Q&A
* Networking opportunities in our great Creator Space
* Some snacks & drinks to fuel your thoughts : )

This is a **spiritual women’s group** for those seeking deep transformation, where you’ll be embraced in a **supportive sisterhood**. Together, we will grow, heal, and empower each other, creating bonds that nourish and uplift.
Through guided tantric practices, we will create a sacred space to support you in:
* **Blossoming as a woman**
* **Stepping into your full abundance**
* **Amplify your feminine energy** and inner strength
* Cultivate **self-love**, emotional balance, and relaxation
* Understand the **principles of Shakti and polarity** with Shiva

* Learn **morning rituals and purification techniques** for daily alignment
* Embrace **yoga techniques to enhance happiness** and joy
* Practice **stress management and relaxation** to restore inner peace
* Use **transfiguration** as a tool for spiritual growth and transformation
Whether you are new to Tantra Yoga or seeking to deepen your practice, this course offers a nurturing environment for your growth and radiance.

***Please note, that you can only participate at this group, if you are woman and atleast 18 years old.***
**About the group instructor**
My name is Niluma Anne, a passionate Yogini on a dedicated spiritual journey for the past seven years. From the very beginning, I have immersed myself in a spiritual women’s group, which has been a profound source of support and growth. Yoga and Tantra Yoga have brought incredible balance, harmony, and a deeper understanding of myself, truly transforming my life.
Throughout my journey with the traditional integral Yoga system, I’ve learned practical ways to bring calm and balance into daily life, even in challenging times. Completing my Tantra Yoga for Women Instructor Training was a turning point, as it allowed me to blossom in ways I hadn’t thought possible. Being surrounded by a nurturing sisterhood showed me the immense power of women uplifting one another, and I now feel called to share this path with other women who seek similar transformation.
In this **Tantra Yoga for Women** group, I am excited to lead you through these teachings, helping you connect deeply with your feminine energy and support your blossoming into fullness and joy. Together, we’ll create a safe and sacred space where you can embrace your own potential, find balance, and build bonds with a supportive community of women. I look forward to sharing this journey with you!

New to Rust and looking for a fun way to learn? Or are you already familiar with all the essentials and lacking the motivation to master the rest?
Or perhaps you're already pretty fluent in Rust but never got a chance to code for constrained environments while were always curious about that? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you're in luck!
In this talk, I'll introduce a new project, that makes Rust
programming a lot of fun, especially if you're fascinated by pixel art
and/or retrogaming.

The terminal has evolved far beyond plain text interfaces. In this talk, we'll explore how Rust is pushing the boundaries of what's possible in terminal applications.
* Open mic / lightning talks
* Networking

If you’re interested in giving a longer talk at a future meetup, this is also a good opportunity to connect with the organizers.
**Venue & access**
Please arrive on time. We will have someone at the entrance to let people in between 18:30 and 19:15. After that, access becomes more difficult as the doors are locked and require manual opening.

After years of drinking with strangers at Sip Happens, he finally gets to complain about it on stage. 😄

The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code*
Visual Studio Code is one of the most widely used development environments today, and much of its flexibility comes from its extension ecosystem. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs.
In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling.
The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options.
