Inside the AI stack: Vercel agents & GPU optimisation
Inside the AI stack: Vercel agents & GPU optimisation
This edition of Future Form explores two parts of the modern AI stack. Vercel’s agent infrastructure, including the new Sandbox and what’s on the roadmap. And how to optimise code to run more efficiently on custom CUDA kernels. **Luke Philips-Sheard**, **Engineering Manager,** **Vercel** Luke will break down Vercel’s new Sandbox and how it enables secure, isolated environments for running AI workloads and agent-driven tasks. Drawing on experience in finance and high-growth environments, he’ll explore how sandboxing helps manage untrusted code, contain risk, and safely run agents against real systems. **Jack Foxabbott, Founding Member of Technical Staff, Stealth Startup** Jack will dive into Neural Kernel Search and the evolution of custom CUDA for non-standard architectures. A practical look at how low-level optimisation unlocks performance gains that frameworks alone can’t deliver. If you’re building AI systems that need to run fast, reliably, and at scale, this one’s for you. **Bonus:** pizza, drinks, and practical peer-to-peer AI insights.

Reel Philosophers - First Rule: Talk About Fight Club
\***Free with promocode** \- details below Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” David Fincher’s 1999 film Fight Club tells us that even those of us whose lives appear successful and desirable tend to lack this significant “why”. We will examine how a crisis of meaning and fractured subjectivity drive the film’s characters to seek identity, authenticity, and meaning through violence and underground ritual. Together, we’ll ask whether Fight Club points to possibilities beyond nihilism, or merely exposes the dangerous seduction of creating meaning in a world that feels empty. **Please note that we'll screen film clips only, not the entire film.** Inspired by ancient Greek symposia, Reel Philosophers nights help sharpen **critical thinking** through film discussions, gently guided by professional philosophers. Philosophy meets art at the [Vorboss](https://vorboss.com/) office, connecting the local business community. *Vorboss is built for London, delivering world-class connectivity and tech services that are simple, transparent, and built for the future. When nothing happens: Bayesian approaches to testing for "no effect"
When nothing happens: Bayesian approaches to testing for "no effect"
**When nothing happens: Bayesian approaches to testing for "no effect"** We are delighted to have Mircea Zloteanu for the first Bayesian Mixer of 2026, please register here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/bayesianmixer/2066946 **Abstract:** Non-significant p-values do not constitute evidence for the absence of an effect, yet researchers often wish to make claims about “no difference.” Often this will lead to publications that make incorrect statements (i.e., claim no difference when the data is just uncertain) or even deter researchers from pursuing specific hypotheses or publish their work. This talk presents Bayesian alternatives for evaluating null results. First, I demonstrate Bayes Equivalence Tests for interval (composite) hypotheses. Second, I illustrate the default Bayesian t-test method relying on model comparison (using the JZS Bayes factor), showing how routine analyses can quantify evidence for or against a point null. Third, I introduce posterior-based equivalence testing using the Region of Practical Equivalence (ROPE) via bayestestR. Together, these approaches provide principled tools for publishing credible null findings. **Bio:** Mircea Zloteanu is a Lecturer in Psychology and Criminology at King’s College London, where his focus is on Research Methods and Statistics. He received his PhD in Experimental Psychology from University College London and has previously held posts at UCL, Teesside University, and Kingston University. His recent work focuses on meta-research, statistical methodology, and improving research practice, with particular emphasis on Bayesian methods, equivalence testing, and transparent reporting. Mircea is actively involved in the open science movement as UK Reproducibility Network Local Co-Lead and a member of ReproducibiliTea, promoting reproducible, rigorous, and cumulative psychological science.
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 132 / Amadeus
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 132 / Amadeus
Amadeus is a 1984 American period drama film directed by Miloš Forman. Peter Shaffer adapted it from his 1979 stage play, inspired by Alexander Pushkin's 1830 play Mozart and Salieri. Shaffer described it as a "fantasia on [a real-life] theme", as it imagines a rivalry between two 18th-century Vienna composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce) and Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham). Salieri struggles to reconcile his professional admiration and jealous hatred for Mozart, and resolves to ruin Mozart's career as his form of vengeance against God. It was nominated for 53 awards and won 40, including 8 Academy Awards (including Best Picture), four BAFTA Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards (including Best Motion Picture – Drama). Abraham and Hulce were both nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor, with Abraham winning. In 1998, the American Film Institute ranked it 53rd on its 100 Years... 100 Movies list. In 2019, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." Please note we will not be showing the film at the meeting. Make sure you watch the film before you attend and then come and join in with the conversation. It’s just a discussion. It’s not a screening. 🙏 We will be meeting in The Ludski Bar in the Rio Cinema. London. An Awkward Couple: AI and the Sacred Space of Imagination
**IMPORTANT!** Please register on Luma page [https://luma.com/91i0ao14](https://luma.com/91i0ao14) Computers used to be for calculation. Now, they are for creation. As AI enters the sacred space of human imagination, we need to reappraise our relationship with the machine. Will MacNeil, an award-winning digital artist whose work spans top brands including Nike, Adidas, BBC, EA Sports, and the National Museum of Qatar, joins the Projector Global Community to discuss this evolving dynamic. **In this talk, Will explores:** * **The Human Wrestle:** How to "wrestle" with digital tools to create work that feels innately human-crafted. * **Data Storytelling:** How to use samples of abstract data to create moving artworks that tell emotional stories. * **The New Frontier:** How to harness and exploit AI to discover new creative languages – without being consumed by the machine itself. This session wraps these practical insights in a larger discussion about how computers and digital media are influencing our lives and our development as a society. **Join us at Barclays Eagle Labs** for a deep dive into how a top-tier Creative Director uses code not just to automate, but to elevate human expression. **Perfect for:** Designers, data scientists, and innovators who want to keep their fingers on the pulse of what is possible in creative tech. **Speaker's Bio: Will MacNeil** is an award-winning digital artist and Creative Director whose work sits at the intersection of data-driven design, real-time systems, and generative art. Product is... prompt AND context engineering
Product is... prompt AND context engineering
Product Is… is BACK! After a break since April last year, we're excited to return in 2026 with lots of really interesting new themes and discussions to be had. Let's start with one. Here's the thing: you've been learning to write better prompts. But what if the prompt is the easy bit? What if context is where all the real work lives - and what if product people are the only ones who know how to do it properly? Will Chan, Senior Product Manager at Risk Ledger and organiser of the AI Signals meetup, will lead us through why context engineering might be the most important skill you're not thinking about. This event will be at Synechron's office on the seventh floor, 95 Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7NA. A massive thank you to Synechron for providing the venue. Doors open at 6:30 PM, we kick off at 7:00 PM, and wrap up by 8:30 PM. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Come ready for proper discussion, new connections, and ideas worth thinking about. \-\-\- THE THEME \- PRODUCT IS\.\.\. PROMPT AND CONTEXT ENGINEERING \-\-\- For product managers, designers, and researchers, context is everything. Context is the currency that sets product people apart from other disciplines like development or commercial teams. Product professionals need to understand the widest range of contexts - from users to business to implementation. As AI tools become embedded in our work, something interesting is emerging. To create effective prompts, context has to be injected accurately. But here's where things get fascinating - you may need to create prompts to create context to create prompts. It's turtles all the way down. The more time you spend using AI in products, the more you find yourself going back in your process. You're creating prompts for the final prompt, for the output you need to be as effective as possible. You might spend longer creating the prompt than doing the work itself. Join us as we explore what context engineering means for product people. How do you manage context in a rapidly changing world? What does this look like in a qualitative world where product people live in the grey area? Is context engineering the right term, or is it something else entirely? These are the questions we'll be tackling together. \-\-\- THE SPEAKER \- WILL CHAN \-\-\- Will is a Senior Product Manager at Risk Ledger and organiser of the AI Signals meetup. With over 10 years of experience building and scaling SaaS products in regulated, data-heavy environments, Will specialises in taking complex problems and turning them into products that drive measurable outcomes. Across legaltech, telecoms, workforce management, and retail media, Will has led discovery through delivery for AI and automation initiatives, improving adoption, containment, conversion, and operational efficiency at scale. Most recently, he's owned AI strategy and delivery for customer-facing platforms, doubling feature adoption and embedding AI safely into real workflows rather than demos or prototypes. Alongside delivery, Will enjoys developing product talent. He's coached PMs, shaped product playbooks, and led teams through clearer discovery, prioritisation, and execution practices. Will is passionate about practical AI application and real customer impact over hype. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- ABOUT 'PRODUCT IS\.\.\.' \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- PMs, UX & UI designers, user researchers, developers - you like to dream big when it comes to digital products… Now it's time share your perspective! 'Product is…' grounds itself in informed, knowledgeable context and healthy conversation - vital ingredients to tech success. One keynote speaker sets the tone on a theme of less travelled subject matter before all attendees add their perspective during the second half of round table-style discussion. Don't expect standard tech meetup fare like "How to improve your CV/Portfolio for that dream job at Facebook" or "How this new framework/approach will improve your workflow" - this meetup is food for the mind, but also a place to meet like-minded big-thinkers! We welcome everyone who works in tech - EVERYONE has a valuable perspective that we learn from. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- WHY WE CHARGE FOR TICKETS \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- We do not aim to make a profit from this meetup, our goal is to create healthy and interesting conversations, meet new people and make new connections. Speakers and the organising team give up their time free of charge to ensure the events are enjoyable for all. A small charge is required for attendance - this allows the organisation team to cover overheads, including the Meetup.com subscription, plus food and drink for the evening.

The Bell - Iris Murdoch [In-person Meeting]
**This event is supported by The Royal Institute of Philosophy’s [Local Partners Programme](https://royalinstitutephilosophy.org/news/fund-your-event/).** **N.B. this meeting will be held in person in the Prince of Wales pub near Covent Garden. There is also an online session held on Thursday if you are not in London or are not able to attend in-person.** Our 2026 theme, 'Quest', takes a more inward turn this month. We join the residents of Imber Court, people yearning for spiritual meaning in a lay religious community, each pursuing their own paths to goodness and meaning. When art student Dora arrives, recently having left her husband, conflicts and secrets come to the fore, forcing the residents to confront one another and themselves. The meeting starts at 7pm with drink breaks at 8 and 9. The discussion will end around 10pm, but leave whenever you need to. Here's the blurb from Penguin.co.uk Imber Court is a quiet haven for lost souls. It offers a sanctuary for those who can neither live in the world, nor out of it. But beneath the gentle daily routines of the community run currents of suppressed desire, religious yearning and a legend of disastrous love. Charming, indolent Dora arrives in the midst of all this, and half-unwittingly conjures these submerged things to the surface. **Our confirmed 2026 books are:** * January - The Wizard of Earthsea, Ursual K. Le Guin * February - The Old Man and the Sea, Ernest Hemingway * March - The Bell, Iris Murdoch * April - Haroun and Sea of Stories, Salman Rushdie * May - Journey to the West/Monkey - Weng Cheng-En * June - The Odyssey, Homer

Shut Up & Write!® East Side Columbus
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 25 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Happy writing & I look forward to seeing you at Streetlight Guild! **WHAT SHOULD I BRING?** Whatever you need to be able to write! You're welcome to bring earplugs/headphones if noise will bother you! **OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:** * **RSVP:** Please RSVP by 6:00pm the evening of the meeting. This helps me know how many to expect, and if we'll need additional space! * **COVID:** While masks are not required, please be mindful of the other writers around you and their comfort levels. * **WIFI/OUTLETS:** Outlets are limited, so please ensure your devices are charged when you come! But Streetlight Guild does have free WiFi! Yay! * **PARKING:** There is free public parking at Streetlight Guild.
