đď¸đŹ MICHAEL (IMAX FILM & SOCIAL)
***đ In a world filled with hate, the King of Pop still dared to hope, to inspire, and to make a difference*** đşđž
**đ Hello everyone!** Letâs hear it for the King of Pop in this upcoming musical biographical drama directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan.
The film will follow the life of **Michael Jackson**, with his nephew **Jaafar Jackson** taking on the lead role. Early footage has already drawn attention thanks to his striking resemblance and his natural ability to capture Michaelâs iconic stage presence and dance moves.
The story is expected to offer a broad and balanced look at Jacksonâs life, following his journey from the **Jackson 5** to becoming one of the most famous entertainers in the world, while also touching on the more difficult and complex parts of his story.
**The Plan:** We will meet at the **Cineworld Empire Bar & Confectionary** (far end side). There will be quite a few of us, so I apologise in advance if there is limited seating. Weâll probably start with some **predictions before the presentation** and inside the screen you can look for us in **row E**.
After the film, weâll regroup again for the commentary and **[Letterboxd](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/)**[ ](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/)Review. Ultimately, the music is a huge part of building excitement for whatâs ahead!
**We canât wait to see you there!"**

From Auto Mode to Manual Mode: Master Your Street Photography Camera Settings
**Take Creative Control of Your Photos with Manual Settings (Beginner Guide)**
This beginner-friendly street photography workshop focuses on understanding and controlling your camera settings so you can stop relying on automatic modes and start making deliberate photographer decisions like a pro instead of guessing.
The session begins with a short cafe pre-brief where we talk about your camera's primary settings: **aperture**, **shutter speed**, **ISO** in creative ways, using **Manual Mode** and **Priority Mode** Settings. We then head out onto the street and work through beginner-friendly creative tasks designed to help you put into practice these three key settings to capture photos as we walk and pause at scenes of interest to compose photos.
Youâll be actively shooting throughout, learning how to react to changing scenes, adjust your camera, and understand what settings actually do and adapt in the moment. I will be on hand, helping you individually through the session. We will explore around the St Paul's, Paternoster Square and Southbank areas.
***
**What You Will Learn**
**How to Use the Exposure Triangle:** Understand aperture, shutter speed, and ISO and how they work together in street photography situations.

Notting Hill Stroll & Coffee (Saturday Afternoon, 2:00 pm)
A relaxed Saturday afternoon in Notting Hill â just a light wander through some of the nicer, quieter streets, with a stop for coffee after.
Weâll meet at 2 pm and keep an easy pace â nothing structured, just a simple way to spend a couple of hours and meet a few people without it feeling like a big group event.
Weâll stay away from the busier parts and keep it more relaxed, then stop somewhere for coffee towards the end. People can stay on or head off whenever they like.
Small, friendly group â easy to join, nothing intense or formal.
Meeting point: outside Farm Girl (Notting Hill)

Saturday Acting Workshop - CORIOLANUS
Following our critically acclaimed productions of OTHELLO, MACBETH and TWELFTH NIGHT the Acting gymnasium's Saturday workshop returns to Theatre Deli on Saturday 28th March with a new imagining of Shakepeare's CORIOLANUS. Plenty of superb roles available!!
Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, Coriolanus, a fierce and proud Roman general, earns fame after defeating Romeâs enemies, especially at Corioli. Despite his military success, he despises the common people and refuses to flatter them for political gain. Urged to seek public office, his arrogance alienates citizens, leading to his banishment. In anger, he allies with his former enemy Aufidius and marches against Rome. As destruction looms, his mother, Volumnia, pleads with him to spare the city. Moved by her words, he relents, choosing honor over revenge. His decision saves Rome but seals his fate, as he is killed for betraying his allies in return.

FREE Reconnect online: guided mindful movement practice for destress & wellbeing
A gentle 40-minute online session to support rest, awareness, and reconnection through breath and simple embodied practice.
**Iâm offering two free online Reconnect sessions in April and May, with optional donations, to continue sharing this practice during a busy performance period. Please register your place [HERE](https://reconnect202604.eventbrite.co.uk).**
### đ¸ What to Expect
Each session includes a short check-in, followed by guided abdominal breathing, grounding exercises, and simple mindful movement, with space to gently return to yourself. Weâll close with a brief check-out.
The previous in-person sessions have been heartwarming, thoughtful, and powerful, and the feedback from the session in March makes me feel it's important to keep opening up a space, however small. Where we can slow down and listen inward.
This is a quiet, supportive space. You donât need any experience, just a willingness to pause and be with yourself for a moment.
#### *What to prepare:* A quiet space, comfortable clothing, and the option to sit or lie down. A bottle of water and a space where you can move your arms freely.**
Master Composition & Framing: Humans In Geometry
**Enhance Your Compositions With Fine Art Photography**
This is a fine art street photography workshop, covering enhancing composition skills, visualising a scene before it happens and being more creative as a photographer. We will use architecture, interiors, light, lines, frames or shapes as your urban canvas to compose people in a creative way.
The objective: Donât look for people, look for scenes first! Then wait for the 'right' person to make that scene complete. This street photography technique is called 'fishing'.
The focus of this session is learning how to see and build strong compositions using whatâs already there rather rather than trying to 'hunt' interesting characters and candid one off moments.
We will do silhouetting, leading lines, sub framing, reflections and much more, and how to use the best available light.
I'll give you composition tips before and throughout the session, along with visual challenges as you shoot. We will have some stop off points where I show photos taken at that scene on my iPad for inspiration. This is where I will share my approach and my vision on how I work a scene.
This is a slower, more relaxed way of working â youâre not rushing to catch a candid moment or worrying about being seen by your target subjects, but learning how to recognise when a scene already has potential and how to refine it through framing, positioning, timing and patience. Instead of focusing on individuals, the emphasis is on building strong framed scenes and allowing people to naturally become part of the composition.
We will explore areas around the Square Mile (City of London), including Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Bank, St. Paulâs.
\*\*
**What You Will Learn**
* **Seeing Strong Compositions:** Learn how to identify balanced scenes, leading lines, layers, and natural frames in the street.
* **Framing a Subject:** Understand how to place people within the environment to create stronger visual impact.
* **Using the Environment:** Work with backgrounds, architecture, and street elements to structure your images.
* **Simplifying a Scene:** Learn how to remove distractions and focus on what matters in the frame.
* **Patience in Practice:** Learn how to wait for elements to align within a composition.
***
**What to Bring**
* **Camera Kit:** Any camera can be used for the workshop (DSLR, mirrorless, film and phone). Best lens is wide like a 23mm, 35mm prime sensor, or a zoom like a 18-55mm (crop sensor), 23mm- 70mm f (full frame). No tripod is needed.
**Quick tip:** Set your camera to black & white (B&W) / monochrome LCD preview if you know how. Helpful, not essential.
***
**Event Info**
* **Duration:** 3 hours
* **Group Size:** Max 5
* **Meeting Location:** Liverpool Street, exact spot provided after booking
***
**PAYMENT OPTIONS**
* RSVP via Meetup (standard fee applies)
* Or send ÂŁ25 via PayPal to **street@lindawisdomphotography.com** â no extra fee
* Message me to confirm your spot & I will add you to attendee list.

**Bonus for Members**
* **FREE DOWNLOAD â Master Composition & Framing: Beginner Tip Sheet:** Covering the key topics from this session.
* **FACEBOOK COMMUNITY GROUP:** Private group for Meetup members to showcase their work, receive critique, advice, and tips.
Hampstead Heath Spiritual Gathering & Walk
Our 43rd Spiritual Creatives gathering - in person!
Come and join us for a lovely walk and talk around Hampstead Heath.
We are meeting just outside Hampstead Heath station (London Overground train) at 11.00 on Sunday the 26th of April.
Please note: This is NOT Hampstead Station on the Northern Line! It is the Hampstead HEATH station. The Google link is here:
We will wait for people to arrive until 11.15am and then we will begin walking. If you arrive later, you will only be able to catch up with us at Kenwood House approximately between 12 and 12.30pm. You should be able to find us sitting around as a group having a drink. If the weather permits, you'll find us outside the main cafĂŠ, towards the back. Look for the guy with the multicoloured scarf... that's me!
After a short break of 20-30 minutes, we then walk back through the Heath, taking the long way round to Parliament Hill, and conclude our stroll back to Hampstead Heath overground station around 2 to 2.30pm.
(Please note that you may become so involved in your conversations that you end up losing sight of the main group! Unfortunately, there is no way for you to catch up with us once we have become separated (and we do NOT check our phones for texts or messages during our walk) so please be mindful and conscious to stay with the main group if you want to keep up. Also please bear in mind that Hampstead Heath can be muddy sometimes, so please wear the appropriate shoes).
After returning to Hampstead Heath Overground station, many of our (usually hungry) members like to continue the camaraderie over lunch at one of the local cafĂŠs or restaurants. As our group has grown over the years, these gatherings can be quite large, so we usually have to split into smaller parties and explore different venues. Some of our favourite spots are Dominiqueâs CafĂŠ (dominiquescafe.co.uk) and Silverberries (silverberry.net), both of which offer a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. Itâs a great way to wind down the walk and continue our conversations.
Spiritual Creatives is a warm-hearted and popular meetup group, as you can see from our ratings and comments!
We hope to meet you then! :-)
Best wishes
Cliff

City Lights (1931)
"The SOB is a ballet dancer. Heâs the best ballet dancer that ever lived, and if I get a good chance Iâll kill him with my bare hands." - W.C. Fields
In *City Lights*, Chaplin's Little Tramp meets a blind girl selling flowers who mistakes him for a wealthy man. When he learns that an operation may restore her sight, he sets off to earn the money she needs to have the surgery. He also befriends an alcoholic millionaire who only recognizes him when he is drunk. When the blind girl and her grandmother fall behind in the rent and face eviction, he tries working and even enters a boxing competition to raise the money they need.
Regarded as Chaplin's masterpiece, *City Lights* has been ranked on more than seventeen "100 greatest movies of all time" lists. Orson Welles cited it as his favorite picture.
*City Lights* is available for streaming on Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBOMax, Tubi and PlutoTV. The Columbus Library lists three copies on blu-ray and eight copies on DVD. Watch the movie on your own, then join us upstairs at East Market to discuss the film.
If you want more, *Unknown Chaplin* is a three-episode lost-footage documentary available on Youtube. It covers his time on *City Lights* beginning at the twenty-six minute mark of episode two: https://youtu.be/f8960Uc15hI?t=1558
