Connect to your joy: a full moon cacao & drum ritual
=== [Confirm your your presence](https://hipsy.be/event/213471-connect-to-your-joy-a-full-moon-cacao-drum-ritual) ===

When life feels overwhelming or a season of transition leaves you feeling disconnected from your own body, finding your way back to center can feel like a heavy task. But returning to yourself doesn't always have to be hard work.
Anchored by the comforting, rich warmth of ceremonial cacao, we will create a grounding space to help you land safely back in your physical body. From this place of deep, earthy coziness, we’ll use gentle rhythm to invite in a sense of lightness and simple, child-like play.
This experience is designed to help you peel back the layers of stress and rediscover your "inner smile"—that stable, quiet joy that lives beneath the noise. If you are ready to shed some weight, reconnect with who you are, and leave feeling lighter, you belong here.
✨ This ritual is an invitation to pause, step out of the daily rush, and simply let yourself *be*.
While cacao is traditionally known as a medicine of the heart and love, in this space, we will lean into its comforting warmth to help us gently relax and open up. It gently expands our capacity for inner listening, creating the perfect earthy foundation for joy to naturally arise.
Supported by breath, sound, movement, and community, this ritual offers a safe, grounded space to:
* release the physical tension of overwhelm
* reconnect with your body in a gentle, nourishing way
* embody inner joy—not as an abstract idea, but as a lived experience

Cutting Clutter, Planting Intentions
**Cutting Clutter, Planting Intentions**
Spring is nature’s ultimate reset button. As the earth sheds the frost to make room for new growth, it invites us to do the same. But before you can plant something new, you usually have to clear out the weeds. What mental clutter is taking up space in your head right now, and what do you actually want to cultivate in your life?
Join us in the cozy, backyard of a lovely local bookshop for a warm, friendly, and hands-on afternoon. Through a series of collaborative writing and drawing activities, we will explore ways to dust off the winter cobwebs and map out our intentions.
Then, we'll get practical. We’ll be decorating plant pots with personal intentions, before filling them with soil and planting real plants. You'll leave the bookshop with a tangible, living reminder of what you’re choosing to grow this season.
Whether you want to dive a bit deeper or just have some fun—all are welcome.
Get ready to experiment, play, meet others, and have fun!
All materials will be provided.
***Ticket €5-10 cash at the door***
Covers cost of materials and some snacks.

Intervals Workout Session 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻 Hippodrome de Boitsfort
We do cycles of 4-6 weeks, with a progressive intensity, and the last session is lighter.
Program:
15’ warm up
**To be defined**
Cool down to get back to the starting point… or more
S=All out sprint
RF = Run fast, at MAS (Maximum aerobic speed)
CF = Run comfortably fast (1h threshold)
J = Jog, recuperation
Notes:
It should take about one hour in total, as the cool down will end when we reach back to the meeting point.
It's NOT required to have an activity tracker or smart watch to be able to follow the program, as I'll be giving signals with a whistle.
For the "run" part, you can follow your own pace and we'll be regrouping in the "jog" part.
Intervals training is not advised for total beginners. To have an idea, the average pace at the warm up is around 5'45"/km-6'/km so this pace should feel very comfortable

*In the three years of hosting this coffee group, I have met many people who struggle with anxieties when coming to an event for the first time. Sometimes, it took them more than one attempt before being able to join.*
*Occasionally, people reach out to me before the event, and I have always been grateful for that as it offers the opportunity to communicate with each other and to find the best and most gentle way for that person to join the group.*
*I would like to encourage everyone who struggles with this to contact me before. It would really be too bad if you can't join us, as it mostly gets better the second or third time you come.*
*In addition to that, if you arrive and notice any signs of nervousness or fear, you can always let me know right then.*

Quiet Forest Walk
Quiet Forest Walk – The Clear Space
This is a quiet, low-stimulation activity. It may suit people who feel overwhelmed in typical social settings or who prefer a calmer way of being together.
Hi everyone,
On Sunday 31 May, I’m organising a quiet forest walk for The Clear Space. We’ll walk together in silence for about an hour, in a calm and gentle way.
This is not about performance, conversation, or doing anything special. It’s simply a chance to be outdoors together in a quieter way — with space to breathe, notice, settle, and just be.
Sometimes silence can feel more natural than talking, and walking side by side can feel easier than a usual social setting. That is very much the spirit of this walk.
When: Sunday 31 May
Where: Herrmann-Debroux metro, straight ahead after leaving the platform
Time: We start walking at 14:10 sharp, so please come a little earlier if possible.
Please wear good shoes, especially if the weather has been rainy, as the forest can be muddy.
Afterwards, if people feel like it, we can have a drink at Rouge Cloître. You’re welcome to join, but there is absolutely no pressure.
If you’d like to come, or if you have any questions, you can message me at 0474 60 83 70.
You are very welcome.
Sunday Electronics Workshop
This workshop series is a **follow-up to the ESP32 Robotics workshop**, but with a different concept. Here, there will be no subject set in advance, instead **all participants are welcome to join at any point and at any level, from beginner to expert**. Beginners will be guided though the basics (C programming, how to use measurement tools, soldering, PCB design, etc…) and can get advice on what tools and kits to start with, others can come with their own projects to get help or share some knowledge.
## Requirements
* Bring your own laptop (Windows, Linux or Mac)
* Any microcontroller/dev kit to develop your project(s). If you are a beginner and don’t know what to buy, come and we’ll find the best starter kit for you !
* A strong desire to learn stuff, good mood and some patience !
Boost Your Improvisation Skills – Atomic Toastmasters Workshop
Improvisation is not just for comedians.
It is a practical skill you use whenever life does not follow the script: during a meeting, a job interview, a difficult conversation, a presentation, a Q&A session or an unexpected challenge at work.
On **Saturday 30 May**, Atomic Toastmasters invites you to a practical workshop designed to help you **think on your feet, stay calm under pressure and respond with more confidence**.
The workshop will be hosted by **Nayara**, an aviation expert who knows from professional experience what it means to adapt quickly, communicate clearly and make decisions when circumstances change.
During this two-hour session, you will practise simple and effective techniques to:
* respond more naturally when you are put on the spot
* structure your thoughts quickly
* speak with clarity even when you have little time to prepare
* become more comfortable with uncertainty
* use improvisation as a communication skill, not as a performance trick
This is a hands-on workshop. You will not only listen. You will practise, experiment and learn in a supportive environment.

Photoresk at Zinneke Parade: Brussels street photography walk + social
Join Photoresk for a relaxed afternoon of street photography at the Zinneke Parade in Brussels. We meet in front of Café Metteko before the parade, photograph together for about two hours, then come back for a drink and chat.
The Zinneke Parade returns to the centre of Brussels on Saturday 30 May 2026, and it is exactly the kind of colourful, surprising city moment that is fun to photograph together.
We will meet at 14:30 in front of Café Metteko, Boulevard Anspach 88, 1000 Brussels.
The parade starts at 15:00. The different Zinnodes move through the centre in a loop, so from one good spot on the route we should be able to see the full parade between 15:00 and 17:00.
https://www.zinneke.org/parade-2026/infos-pratiques/
Afterwards, from around 17:15, we will meet again at or near Café Metteko for a drink, a chat, and maybe a first look at our favourite shots.
All levels are welcome. Bring any camera you like: DSLR, mirrorless, compact camera, analogue camera, or phone.
The idea is simple: enjoy Brussels, photograph together, and meet other people who like photography.
Practical details:
Date: Saturday 30 May 2026
Meeting time: 14:30
Meeting point: in front of Café Metteko, Boulevard Anspach 88, 1000 Brussels
Parade photography: 15:00-17:00
Social get-together: from about 17:15 at or near Café Metteko
Nearby public transport: Bourse, De Brouckère, Gare Centrale
A small note on comfort and safety:
The Zinneke Parade is colourful, busy and often loud. Some places, especially around Bourse and Grand-Place, can get very crowded. Please travel light, keep an eye on your belongings, and respect the parade teams, stewards and other visitors. For close portraits, please ask first.
Photoresk is a friendly international photography group. New faces are very welcome.
