Introduction to Tantra - a workshop for beginners
Introduction to Tantra - a workshop for beginners
What is Tantra? How does Tantra differ from other spiritual or self-development practices? What is the role of sexuality in Tantra? What are the core principles of Tantra? Can Tantra be practiced alone or is it mainly for couples? How does Tantra enhance personal and spiritual growth? This 4-hour workshop is designed specifically for beginners who are curious about Tantra and want to get a first taste of its profound teachings. With the aim to demystify, we’ll address common questions and misconceptions through both discourse and direct experience. After the introduction round and discourse, you’ll be invited to practice a series of guided exercises designed to deepen your comprehension of Tantra's core principles. These practices include active meditation, energy practices and both solo- and partnered exercises, allowing you to tap in to an embodied experience of the teachings. You will gain tools that can be applied in your daily life, enhancing both your personal and spiritual growth. **What to expect** * **Discourse and Q&A**: learn about Tantra through discourse and ask your questions * **Guided practice**: experience Tantra through guided embodiment and meditation practices, both solo and with partners * **Conscious connection:** explore yourself through the meeting with others. Learn new tools and skills to initiate deeper intimacy. * **Sharing**: integrate your experience through sharing with others. * **Cozy studio setting**: enjoy a comfortable and intimate environment. By the end of the session, you are likely to leave with a renewed sense of peace, a deeper connection to yourself and others, and a more profound understanding of Tantra. This workshop serves as a gentle yet powerful introduction, equipping you with the knowledge and experience needed to explore Tantra further. **What to bring:** * Wear comfortable clothing * Water bottle to stay hydrated **Tickets:** 55€ per person Please purchase your ticket via [sophieheldens.com](https://www.sophieheldens.com/tickets?utm_source=meetup&utm_campaign=introduction) **Location:** Praxis Köpi Köpenicker Straße 175 10997 Berlin Kreuzberg Walk to the second courtyard and take the stairs to the front door on the left **Please note:** Praxis Köpi is located on the 5th floor and there is no elevator available. Only book a ticket if you can walk the stairs. The benefit: a beautiful private studio with loads of natural light. **!! Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time !!** Once we start the session, I can’t let you in anymore because it disturbs the class. Please do yourself and the group a favour by coming on time. Thank you! **Workshop facilitator** Hi! My name is Sophie. My passion for Tantra is rooted in a deep spiritual yearning and an inner knowing that Tantra is my path. My desire to teach Tantra has been sparked by having witnessed my own growth and healing as a result of these practices and it is inspired by a vision to create a more beautiful world. I create a space that is loving and nurturing, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that you feel save and supported. My workshops are gentle yet transformative, spiritual yet grounded and always heart-centered. I'm passionate about bridging the wisdom of ancient Tantra with modern-day practices. For more information, feel free to visit my website: [www.sophieheldens.com](https://www.sophieheldens.com?utm_source=meetup&utm_campaign=introduction) *PS. despite seemingly low attendance on Meetup, these events always take place with sufficient participants unless communicated differently*
Conscious Lap Dance: Own your Sensuality - Tantra inspired (WOMEN ONLY)
Conscious Lap Dance: Own your Sensuality - Tantra inspired (WOMEN ONLY)
Come back home to your body and your sensuality, stepping into delicious self-expression. No performance, just dancing for your own pleasure. Explore, embody and express your sensuality from a place of self-love and discover what you need to drop in more fully. It's not about looking a certain way or moving a certain way- it's about you feeling comfortable in your skin and celebrating your aliveness, your beauty, your radiance - and allowing yourself to be witnessed as this alive, beautiful, radiant being As women we often feel unsafe in our sensual and sexual expression. Afraid that it might be seen as an invitation or that it will be used against us. The truth is that when a woman is connected to these parts of herself, she is immensely powerful. When you think of a lap dance, you might think of a strip club where men seem to have the power and women are dancing for their pleasure. **This workshop aims to redefine the dynamics of a lap dance** where the dancer dances for his or her own pleasure while the receiver holds space for their process. Together we explore the qualities that support or diminish your sensual expression. The goal is not to seduce the receiver - though whenever you are fully dropped in, this becomes inevitable. **This is a Tantra inspired event.** The dynamics of a lap dance offer a perfect representation of the eternal love story between Shiva (divine masculine) and Shakti (the divine feminine). In this workshop we will play with masculine and feminine energy - exploring their qualities and how they interact and fuel one another. You’ll be invited to embody both. This is not a dance class where you learn steps. You are always invited to follow your own flow, exploring your unique expression. **Become a more fully and expressed version of yourself and discover yourself through the art of lap dance.** **What to expect** * Introduction & sharing * Warm up exercises to connect with the group, to land in your body and to gradually prepare you for the lapdance * Playful boundary exercise * Exploration of feminine and masculine qualities * Lap dance experience * Reflection on what supports and diminishes your sensual expression **Program (subjective to change)** 15.00 - 16.00 Introduction & sharing 16.00 - 16.30 warm up & connection 16.30 - 17.00 embodiment practice 17.00 - 17.15 playful boundary setting practice 17.15 - 17.30 short break 17.30 - 18.15 exploring masculine and feminine qualities 18.15 - 18.45 lap dance practice 18.45 - 19.00 closing circle **What to bring** * Wear anything that you feel comfortable, sensual and confident in; maybe something that feels nice on your skin, something that allows you ro move easily, or- it can also be something sexy. If you are unsure what to wear, you can simply bring the outfit you are unsure of and slip into it whenever it feels right. * Water bottle * Journal (optional) **Testimonials** *I highly recommend going to Sophie’s offering Conscious Lap Dance. It was almost like a beautiful women’s circle plus expressing and connecting to ourselves and other women through the art of dance. I learned so much about space holding and taking space in the most beautiful mutual and safe way. I got to experience how dancing staying connected with myself can feel. Very empowering :)* **\- Maria L** *Sophie facilitates her events with passion, presence and so much integrity. I felt really seen and safe in the lap dance event and did connect with my inner goddess and playful spirit. Also my fears in the beginning were welcome and I could integrate some wounded parts within me. Every exercise is really an invitation to get to know yourself and your pleasure better while being able to connect in small steps with other participants.* **\- Sophia Lara** **Tickets** 45€ per person [purchase your ticket here](https://www.sophieheldens.com/tickets?utm_source=meetup&utm_campaign=lapdance) [ ](https://www.sophieheldens.com/tickets) [ ](https://www.sophieheldens.com/tickets)**Location:** Praxis Köpi Köpenicker Straße 175 **Please take note:** This event takes place at a beautiful studio located on the 5th floor. There is no elevator so please only sign up if you are able to walk up and down the stairs. You’ll find the studio in the second backyard. Take the outdoor stairs up to the front door of the building. **Please take note:** This event takes place at a beautiful studio located on the 5th floor. It's my greatest passion is to create spaces in which individuals and couples are able to (re-)connect with the beauty of life, the beauty of humanity and the beauty of being themselves. I have been teaching Tantra for over 3 years. I'm double certified as a Tantra teacher (700 hours by the esteemed Ma Ananda Sarita) and have studied with teachers in Greece, Thailand, India and Ibiza. Mavericks Bouldering — A Casual Climb & Hangout in Berlin
Mavericks Bouldering — A Casual Climb & Hangout in Berlin
A small NEXUS gathering built around movement rather than discussion alone. This is for high-bandwidth Mavericks who spend most of their time in conceptual thought and need some physical counterweight. Why bouldering? Because it’s deliberate: short problems, full focus, and immediate feedback. You’re on the wall, solving something tangible. The mental noise drops instantly! Conversations happen naturally in between climbs. No pressure, you move at your own pace. Some exchanges stay light. Others go deep. Both are fine. This is not about athletic achievement. It’s about presence, recalibration, and being around people who don’t require you to shrink or translate yourself. Come as you are. Try some bouldering problems. Rest when needed, and engage where it makes sense. **Bring comfortable clothes and climbing shoes if you have them (rentals are available at the gym).** *Registration equals commitment. If you sign up, you show up. Read the group description first and decide consciously. Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Hey everyone! I’m organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂 To ensure that we have both **socialising** AND **working**, we will be using the so called “Pomodoro” technique: **50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks. It’s an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique). Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background. I (the host) speak English and German, so either is fine :-) ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **15min Intro** * Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today * **Pomodoro Session** (3x) - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...* * ...**50min** of uninterrupted “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, no phones) * ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc. * Repeat * Conclude and celebrate your progress Share your progress, socialise and get to know others 😊 ———— We'll be at the Social Hub Berlin (they have a food menu in case you get hungry). The structured part will end at 2:30pm, but you're welcome to stay longer, go for lunch together, or leave earlier. See you there 🩵 **\*\*We'll reserve the long table. Please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***

Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association: They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other church–state issues in public schools. The presentation will cover SEA’s early wins and hard lessons, what we’re seeing nationally right now, and how local advocates can play a meaningful role in protecting public education. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the landscape — and practical ways to get involved. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. Data & Analytics Wednesday - Google Analytics Alternatives
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Google Analytics Alternatives
**Google Analytics Alternatives** Is it finally time to make the switch away from Google Analytics? Two-and-a-half years ago Jason Packer asked this question at Columbus Web Analytics Wednesday. Since then: Google’s Universal Analytics has been sunset, we’ve changed our name to Columbus Data & Analytics Wednesday, and Jason has released two editions of his book “Google Analytics Alternatives”. Fresh off the release of the 2nd edition of his book, we thought it was time to re-open this conversation. While people love to complain about it, GA’s market share has remained relatively constant (at least in the United States). Why is that? You won’t find any complaints about GA4 in this talk, but rather an overview of what’s currently available in the market and how to frame your decision-making process. We’ll also be giving out some free copies of Jason’s book! So even if you’ve got a “GA4Lyfe” tattoo (no judgement), there’s free books to go with the free pizza and beer. Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
This is a free, in person meeting. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
