Join our Saturday badminton session from 5:20pm to 7:20pm at Richard Challoner School, New Malden, KT3 5PE! This is a mixed session open to all levels and genders. Our group is part of a social comunity playing in other locations as well. Some sessions are overbooked via Watsap so you won't find them on Meetup. One of the three courts will be used for coaching by our coach Ken. Feel free to enquire if you need more details on how to join that one. Our regulars already joined us on WhatsApp at the time of posting this event. Playing with good quality feathers shuttles and the fee is £8.5 for 2 hours. To give everyone enough play time we are limiting the number of players to not more than 5-6 per each court. Please make sure you are using badminton shoes to avoid injuries and also to not leave black marks on the floor. *We take video recordings of our sessions, and by joining, you agree to be filmed. The second of our two summer tournaments, the feathers players will take to the courts at Reynolds between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday 27th June The entry for this tournament is going to be restricted to lower intermediate and above, we usually get some strong players and not for beginners. For that we will have our Casuals tournament on previous week. Payment will be taken up front so please contact myself and we will be creating 6 teams of 6 players, with an even distribution of skill levels across the team. Therefore each team will have more skilled and less skilled players, to improve the fairness of the bouts. We will be prioritising our existing members for this reason (i.e. we have a more accurate assessment of their skill level). We will then proceed in a league format then followed by a small knockout semi-final & final. Again a reminder that payment will be taken in advance. Everything is going to be first come first serve.

The 2025 Reach Indigenous Advocacy Indigenous Advocate of the Year has worked tirelessly to provide access to Cherokee culture in Ohio through partnerships like her work with Fort Ancient Earthworks & Nature Preserve — part of the UNESCO-listed Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks. Since 2024, Renata has led hands-on workshops at Fort Ancient, giving visitors the opportunity to experience Cherokee traditions as living, evolving practices.
