Dramatic Arts Theatre

This is just a studio session, with no Zoom. We will have a life model in the same pose for three hours in the afternoon, usually for two consecutive weeks. This is an untutored session run by a professional painter who will always be happy to give advice. Other than model breaks, usually every 25 minutes, we break for tea and cake at 3.30pm for twenty minutes. Our studio is divided up into workstations or ‘positions’ and whilst each position has a good view of the model many artists prefer to be front and centre. (Actually, you often get a more interesting composition to the side of the room). You can also just turn up at the studio on spec and find a place to paint. Despite his military success, he despises the common people and refuses to flatter them for political gain. Urged to seek public office, his arrogance alienates citizens, leading to his banishment. In anger, he allies with his former enemy Aufidius and marches against Rome. As destruction looms, his mother, Volumnia, pleads with him to spare the city. Moved by her words, he relents, choosing honor over revenge. His decision saves Rome but seals his fate, as he is killed for betraying his allies in return. We have a life model in a single pose for **three hours**. Usually **the same pose is repeated the following week so that you can give six hours** to your work, remember to book the same position for both weeks. The session is not formally tutored although all of our sessions are run by artists and advice is always available, just ask – otherwise you will be left to get on by yourself. Our studio is purpose built and well equipped with easels, drawing boards, clips and so on. We sell materials at reasonable prices so if you forget anything we should be able to help you out. We have professional lighting for the models and and full spectrum lights for the studio to give you a good experience. Join us for an engaging and inspiring life drawing sessions at the Toynbee Art Club in Aldgate Shoreditch, London. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner looking to explore your creative side, this session welcomes all skill levels. Our friendly and talented life models will strike poses for you to sketch and paint in a nurturing and supportive environment. This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you! MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE.
