Welcome to Melbourne Volleyball Academy. đŸ€— **[[WHAT]]** This session is specifically for games only (no training). There will be a cap of 18 players, allowing for 3 teams of 6. Games will be played to 15 points, with a cap at 18 points. These games are intended to be played at a high-intermediate(BB)/advanced(A) level. Please see an explanation of skill levels on our website here: https://melbournevolleyballacademy.com.au/skill-levels-explained **[[WHO]]** The session is intended for Intermediate players. Players should be able to: * Have strong fundamentals for all volleyball techniques * Serve receive a majority of serves well & serve over the net consistently * Basic understanding of 5-1, and 6-2 systems (we do not play a pass middle 4-2 system in this session) * Have an understanding of base defense * Know all/most volleyball rules Players that are not of the intermediate(BB)/advanced(A) level will be asked to leave as we want to ensure that all players have an enjoyable time playing. **[[HOW MUCH $$]]** $14 card payment will be processed on the day via square reader (EFTPOS). **[[WHEN]]** The stadium is booked from 7 PM-9 PM weekly, every Monday. However, feel free to come early and stretch as the Community Centre is open earlier. Last minute dropouts and no shows will have a zero-tolerance policy going forward. All players are expected to update their RSVP at least 24 hours in advanced if they are unable to attend. This applies to players on the going list and the waitlist. **[[OTHER DETAILS]]** Only those on the “going” list are permitted to play. If you are on the waitlist, or not registered at all, you will not be permitted into the gymnasium.

Hello Climbers! Just meet at the yellow sign and introduce yourself :) From there we pair up to climb. If we have an odd number of people, we can make a rotating group of 3. There is also a self-belay area if you want to get in more climbing if in a group of 3 or arriving earlier. If the event you are planning to go to only has one or 2 people on the ‘attending’ list, we encourage organising a climbing partner in advance so you can make sure you have at least one other person there to climb with! Feel free to reach out on the event wall or message a host :) Meet up will start at 6pm but if you want to start earlier you certainly can, but again you will need to organise a climbing partner in advance. New climbers are welcome, however your mandatory induction takes about 15/20mins. Harnesses, shoes and chalk bag can be hired also. We are trialing a new weekly Catan Meetup to be run at Marche Board Game Cafe at 63 A'Beckett St, Melbourne VIC 3000. The venue is within walking distance of Melbourne Central and Town hall station. We will be running from 6:00pm-10:00pm every Wednesday but you can stay or leave whenever you want. Games can take quite a while once one starts so try to get there early to secure a spot if possible. All skill levels are welcome. Come along whether you play Catan every week or even if you have never played before. We are more than happy to teach. The event will cost $6 to be paid at the door just to generate business for the cafe. People are also encouraged to buy food/drink from the cafe as it helps them out. Please respect the venue and others when attending this meetup, abuse will not be tolerated. Hope to see you all there! :)

Guided Drawing is a sensorimotor art therapy practice developed and taught by Cornelia Elbrecht that helps us to reconnect with our emotions through movement and sensation. Our emotions live in the body and when we practice listening inward, we can feel more grounded and regulated. This approach gently supports parts of our life experiences that may be difficult to access through talking alone, especially memories and feelings beneath conscious awareness. The session begins with a short introduction and gentle warm-up. With your eyes closed, you will use both hands to map out sensations within your body and to draw out any movements that your body might need, allowing your embodied self to guide the process. I will demonstrate the activity while also offering suggested shapes and interventions during the process. The explanation of what to do, how to connect with my body and examples of how to express myself and tap into my own feelings, made the session feel so aligned to exactly what I needed. You will need to pack a lunch for this ride, we will be departing from Yarraville Station where there is an abundance of Melbourne’s best cafes to purchase lunch but you will need to do this before we depart at 10 am. Also, if you would like a coffee before you get on the road you will need to arrive before 10am where you can enjoy the best of Melbourne’s best yummy cafĂ© coffee and food and then be ready to go at 10 am. We will take Ballarat Street to Stoney Creek reserve then get on the federation and other Western trails which will take us almost continuously to Point Cook Coastal Reserve and Historic Homestead. After lunch and maybe a beach walk to the Eastern tip of Point Cook we will cycle the coastal trail back to Altona. For those who have parked at Yarraville they can catch the train back to Yarraville. At Altona we can get on the train at Altona Station, however, an early dinner in Yarraville at Teroni’s is a possibility so we may choose to cycle the coastal trail via Williamstown etc to Yarravile. Point Cook can be windy so bring woolens and an all weather jacket even if there is a forecast for sunny weather. This ride is for those who are as good at listening to others opinion as they are at expressing their own opinion.
