Guitar jam in Hyde Park (weather permitting)
Guitar jam in Hyde Park (weather permitting)
We meet up in Hyde Park (Just to the West of the Rose Garden - see pin on the map). The guitars will give us away so we can recognise each other in the mass of other people. From there, we sit on the grass, and after some introductions, we start jamming. My genres are: rock, blues, folk, singer-songwriter but anything goes. For jamming, we'll pick a chord progression, something not too complicated and then we take turn to improvise melodies on top of it (both guitar solos but also vocalising). Intermediate level and above ideally but any level welcome but you should probably be able to play some chords (to get the most out of it). Other things we will do: 1. We can play songs - whoever wants to, not going to go round the circle forcing people to play. The songs can be either originals (your own songs) or known songs. 2. We can chat about music or other things 3. Have a drink - bring your fave drink (wine, beer, non-alcoholic) 4. Food goes too (bring your own) When we've had enough, we say goodbye and go home. People can leave early too if they've got other stuff to do or the whole thing is not their vibe (no hard feelings). All of that is weather permitting. If it rains, it's not happening - unless someone suggests a free venue (I don't know one :-)
Masterclass with Mozes Rosenberg
Masterclass with Mozes Rosenberg
## **Part of the London Gypsy Jazz Festival 2026, presented by Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club** An exclusive masterclass with internationally acclaimed gypsy jazz guitarist **Mozes Rosenberg**. Born into the legendary Rosenberg dynasty, Mozes began playing guitar at just six years old under the guidance of his father Mimer Rosenberg, his brother Stochelo Rosenberg and his uncle Waso Grünholz. By the age of seven he was already performing on Dutch television with the Rosenberg Trio. Since then, he has developed into one of the most exciting and authentic voices in contemporary gypsy jazz. This intimate session offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from a master of the Django Reinhardt tradition. Whether you are a guitarist, jazz musician or dedicated listener, this masterclass will give you invaluable insight into the technique, phrasing, rhythm and musical philosophy that define the gypsy jazz sound. Details and booking at [https://toulouselautrec.co.uk/etn/masterclass-with-mozes-rosenberg/](https://toulouselautrec.co.uk/etn/masterclass-with-mozes-rosenberg/) PLEASE NOTE that this event is not organised or hosted by the London Jazz Guitar Society. Masterclass with Chris Corcoran and Artie Zaitz - "outside" sounds on the blues
Masterclass with Chris Corcoran and Artie Zaitz - "outside" sounds on the blues
**Chris Corcoran** continues his monthly series of masterclasses at Ain't Nothin' but the Blues in Soho. This month he's joined by our friend **Artie Zaitz** to look at bringing some "outside" sounds into your blues and jazz playing.. I've been a regular at Chris's masterclasses over the last couple of years. He's a great player and teacher. If you're interested in the music of Charlie Christian, Barney Kessel, T-Bone Walker and Tiny Grimes, you'll enjoy Chris's style. **Chris Corcoran** is one of the UK's finest exponent of the early swing, jump blues and R&B guitar styles, and has been performing across the British Isles and Europe for the last 20 years. Hailed by *Blues in Britain* magazine as an antidote to the plethora of blues/rock acts currently dominating the UK blues scene, the Chris Corcoran Trio and the Chris Corcoran Band perform a repertoire of jump blues and swing revival music dating from the 40s and 50s, covering artists such as pioneer and innovator of the jump blues T-Bone Walker, and American jazz guitarist and composer Bill Jennings. **Saturday 18 April 2026** **12pm start** **Ain't Nothin' but the Blues Bar, Soho** **£40 via PayPal to chris@chriscorcoranmusic.com**

Over the years, he has forged a distinctive voice within the Django Reinhardt tradition, blending deep respect for the roots of gypsy jazz with a rich harmonic palette and lyrical sophistication. This rare, intimate session offers a unique opportunity to study with a world-class artist whose career has taken him from major international festivals to iconic concert halls across Europe and the USA. Full details and booking at the Toulouse Lautrec website: [https://toulouselautrec.co.uk/etn/masterclass-with-paulus-schafer/](https://toulouselautrec.co.uk/etn/masterclass-with-paulus-schafer/) PLEASE NOTE that this event is not organised or hosted by the London Jazz Guitar Society. LondonJamSessions x TAM MIC DROP (20 Second Chain) #35
LondonJamSessions x TAM MIC DROP (20 Second Chain) #35
I am proud to announce that we having our jam at the Temple Of Art & Music in Elephant & Castle!! 20 Second Chain: A structured improvisation format where a musical “chain” unfolds organically, with each player responding to and building on what came before. Lineup (on stage together): - 2 guitarists - 1 bass - 1 drummer - 1–2 singers - 1 additional instrument (sax, trumpet, percussion, etc.) How It Works: 1. All musicians on stage are assigned a number, which determines the playing order. 2. Playing order, a key (and available chords) is written on a whiteboard opposite the stage. 3. Number 1 begins alone with a simple idea for 20 seconds — leave space for others to build. 4. Every 20 seconds, the next numbered musician joins one at a time, layering something that complements what’s already happening. 5. Once everyone has entered and the full band is playing, the group improvises for 5 minutes, developing the groove — complexity and solos can grow naturally. 6. No on-stage planning — listen and respond in real time. 7. After the timer ends, the group rotates and a new chain begins. The Temple Of Art and Music is a live music venue and bar in Elephant & Castle so I encourage anyone attending to bring friends as it will be great fun for them even if they are not playing. The venue has a PA system, drum kit, mics and guitar/bass amps. There is no guarantee that there will be cymbals or drum accessories with the drum kit at the venue. Drummers please being your own if you can. Like all our other jams it will be a chance to jam with other musicians playing the music that you love in a gentle environment with no judgement and no pressure. This jam also uniquely gives the opportunity to play in front of a crowd! Tickets are **£10 online** message us let us know what instrument you play and we will confirm if there is space and send you the Eventbrite link for the jam. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about this jam and London Jam Sessions. At London Jam Sessions we have an active community on WhatsApp where we all discuss the upcoming jams and future events. Everyone in the community is encouraged to ask questions and bring forward new ideas. Dm me and I can add you to our Whatsapp group.
