As you face Simla House from the street, the entrance we use is on the left hand side of the building. The drawing session starts at 7.00pm. If possible, I would be grateful if attendees could arrive 5 to 10 minutes before this time. All abilities are welcome to draw and meet likeminded people. Two hours of active dynamic poses from 2 to 25 minutes. £12.00 for the session. The group is run on a drop-in basis. Pay on the night. Cash or card. Hello all! IT'S BEEN A WHILE! **But the neurodivergent artist meet ups are back!** Come along to meet fellow neurodivergent artists, share your work and chat about your art! I'd love to \*finally\* put on an exhibition next year to showcase neurodivergent artists' work - so it would be great to get your thoughts on this too so I can start planning. **Please RSVP if you can make it! First, we will visit the exhibition Enthoven Unboxed: 100 Years of Collecting Performance. This exhibition marks 100 years since Gabrielle Enthoven founded the theatre and performance collection at the V&A, and the display explores an A–Z of themes to show how performance continues to entertain, provoke and inspire. There is a huge variety of items on display ranging from Elton John's glasses through modern concert posters through to late 19th century theatre themed artwork. Next, we will walk through the museum to the Theatre and Performance Galleries. These galleries contain exciting theatre and performance collections, including rock and pop posters, theatre and ballet costumes, puppets, stage sets, Stars Wars costumes, and more. We should expect to spend around 45 minutes at each of the two legs of the visit. If we finish early, there are numerous other galleries in the museum, and we can pick another one or two to visit depending on timings. I already have a note of what's on. After the exhibition and galleries, the meetup ends, but it would be great if most if not all of us, stay for an entirely optional tea, drink, or snack in one of the many establishments in the area or the cafe at the V&A if that is still open. This will offer a great opportunity to relax and chat socially after what should be an interesting afternoon. The exhibitions are free, but the usual £1.50 group maintenance fee applies and is non refundable. Please note that Meetup now adds about £0.60 to this as well. (If you pay cash on the day, it’s £2.50). As always, you are participating at your own risk. Here’s how to purchase your tickets: \* Option 1 – In Person: You can purchase at the ticket counter anytime during operating hours. Just mention you are with the Columbus Movie Group for the discounted rate. \* Option 2 – Online: If you prefer to purchase online, you can do so by going to the link below and following these instructions: 1. Click the link below. 2. Click the little TICKETS box then click BUY TICKETS. 3. If you are a Drexel Member, you can log in here to receive the Member/Group rate, which is the same. If you are not a Drexel member, click “No” and the $40 Rate will pop up. But, don’t fret. It’s a little hard to find but there’s a “Promotion Code” section on the screen. Click the “Know a Promotion Code?” box, enter “CMG2026” (case sensitive) and submit. Select the appropriate number of tickets in the Discount Rate section and click “Add.” Next “Proceed to Checkout” then “Checkout” and enter your credit card info. There’s a $1.50 online service fee but it’ll save you a trip to the Drexel. (If you don’t already have one, you will need to sign in or create an account first.) Sellout possible so please purchase yours as soon as possible in advance! ARRIVAL: Doors open for CMG at 5:30pm so that’s when we’ll plan to meet! That’ll give us plenty of time to fill out our Oscar Ballots, pick up some free popcorn, candy, and something to drink, mix, mingle, take some photos, pick up your Newfangled Kitchen Meal Deal, grab a seat in our CMG Reserved Section, then settle in to enjoy the Academy Awards on the Big Screen! PICTURES: We’ll take pics throughout the evening and the Drexel Paparazzi will be on hand as well. We’ll also take a big group photo around 6:40 near the entrance before the show begins. If you happen to take some good shots yourself, be sure to upload them on the Oscar Party Meetup event! VEGAN MEALS: As previously mentioned, the food vendor does NOT have a vegan option at this year’s Oscar Party. However, we DO have a solution! If you are a vegan, plan to attend the Oscar Party and did not receive an e-mail from me, please reach out via private message post a note below. I’ll provide details off-line. And while there won’t be a vegan meal option this year, I think we do have a workable solution. And, all other plans are usiness-as-usual: popcorn, sodas, candy, on-site paparazzi, decorations, bar drinks (including your first drink on the house), the Drexel’s Annual Oscar ballot contest, along with the Big Show on the Big Screen and a fun group of Movie Group friends to watch ‘em with!
