Underwater Rugby Practice and Game (Beginner's welcome)
**Welcome to our group! We hope to see you out at the pool soon. We play Fridays 8:30-10pm at Riverdale Collegiate Institute pool. Wilder Series: The Wilder Loop
Wilder Series: The Wilder Loop
**Please note the only way to register for this adventure is on [our website.](https://www.wildernessunion.com/adventures/wilder-loop-26)** **Welcome to the original Wilder Series adventure- a very challenging hike through a wild, secret location.** The Wilder Loop is 20 km of remote, rugged terrain through one of Ontario’s most untouched landscapes. Right from the start, the trail throws you into the wild: the first 5 km have everything we love about backcountry hiking; twisting forest paths, sweeping granite ridges, narrow boardwalks, and multiple beaver dams to scramble across. No two kilometers are the same, and every twist in the trail feels like a secret waiting to be found. Once we hit the loop section, things get much quieter. This part of the park sees very few visitors as human footprints give way to moose tracks, and the rustling in the brush might just be one of the many beavers that call this area home. Though the total elevation gain is relatively modest (about 260 m over the whole route), the trail’s difficulty comes from its remoteness, terrain, and ever-changing conditions. That said, for those willing to take it on, the reward is huge: sweeping views, total solitude, an unfiltered experience of Ontario’s boreal beauty... and a well-earned sense of pride by the time we make it back to the trailhead. ***Secret Location*** This is one of Wilderness Union's 'secret' hikes. As a group, we visit some truly special spots that are undiscovered by the wider world. We like to keep them pristine and only share them among our members- we ask that you do the same! We reveal the location to registered members in the days before the trip. **Highlights** **Untouched Wilderness-** Step into a landscape that feels frozen in time; wild, windswept, and wonderfully remote. Just you, the forest, and the sound of your boots on the trail. **Wildlife Spotting -** Bears, moose, beavers and loons are just some of the creatures that call this area home. You'll have a chance to spot some from a safe distance for a magical encounter. **Beaver Dam Crossings -** The area we're visiting is shaped by beavers. Tiptoe across nature’s original bridges- muddy, meticulously built, and surprisingly sturdy. **Event cost: $60+HST - optional transport available.** **Register [here.](https://www.wildernessunion.com/adventures/wilder-loop-26)** **About Wilderness Union** Wilderness Union is deliberate about building an outdoors community that connects you to the life-changing magic of the outdoors and helps you find your people. Members range from 20-40 years old. The group is a mix of GTA locals and newcomers to Toronto from within Canada and abroad. Attendance numbers on Meetup don't reflect our actual event attendance - we typically have 15-20 community members at each event. Large enough that there's someone new to meet but small enough that it's not overwhelming! ***Learn more at our website [www.wildernessunion.com](https://www.wildernessunion.com/)***

Urban Canvas Walk and drinks later!
Urban Canvas Walk and drinks later!
Join us for a relaxed and colourful walk along Toronto’s famous Graffiti Street, where art quite literally lives on the walls. This stretch of vibrant laneways has evolved into one of the city’s most photographed spots, showcasing artworks created by talented local and international artists. The area is often associated with Graffiti Alley, about a kilometre stretch near Queen Street West that has become an iconic destination for street art lovers. What makes this space unique is that much of the artwork here is legal. Artists typically receive permission from building owners, transforming what was once seen as graffiti into respected urban murals. Whether you love photography, art, or simply exploring hidden gems in the city, this is a perfect way to spend time outdoors and experience a different side of Toronto. We’ll stroll, pause to admire the murals, and enjoy the colourful atmosphere together and then head to a bar to argue which one was the coolest!
🌸🌊 SPRING WALK OF THE TORONTO ISLANDS (9KM) 🌊🌸
🌸🌊 SPRING WALK OF THE TORONTO ISLANDS (9KM) 🌊🌸
🌸🌊 SPRING WALK OF THE TORONTO ISLANDS (9KM) 🌊🌸 Lakeside Paths, Skyline Views & A Full Island Escape There’s something about the Toronto Islands that feels like a mini getaway — even though you’re just minutes from downtown. Join us for a relaxed, scenic spring walk across the Toronto Islands, where open water, quiet pathways, and skyline views come together in one of the city’s most peaceful settings. The Islands have a rich and layered history — once a sandbar peninsula connected to the mainland until a storm in 1858 separated it, creating the island chain we know today. Over time, it’s been home to cottages, amusement parks, and a tight-knit residential community that still exists on Ward’s Island. On this walk, we’ll move from the quieter, more open spaces of Hanlan's Point, through the lively areas of Centre Island, and end in the charming residential feel of Ward's Island. This is not a formal tour. It’s a social walk with fresh air, beautiful views, and time to connect. 👉 **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) 🚶‍♂️ What We’ll Do We’ll take the ferry together to Hanlan’s Point and begin our walk across the islands. The route is flat, easy, and beginner-friendly — perfect if you’re easing back into walking or just want something relaxed. We’ll pass beaches, open green space, and some of the best skyline views in the city (perfect photo moment 📸), making our way through Centre Island before ending at Ward’s Island. Feel free to bring a snack to enjoy along the way — or even something small to share. You’re welcome to leave at any time or stay and explore after we finish. 🌦️ Weather & Expectations This walk will happen in typical spring weather — which means sun, wind, or light rain are all possible. As long as it’s not extreme conditions, we’ll be going ahead. The islands can feel cooler and windier than the city, so dress in layers and be prepared. Comfortable shoes are a must. Also — this is NOT a guided or historical tour. I’ll share bits of history casually, but the focus is on enjoying the experience together. 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: Inside the ferry terminal beside the bathrooms 🫎 I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat ⏰ Meetup Time: 11:00 AM 🚢 Ferry Departure: 11:15 AM (Hanlan’s Point Ferry) PLEASE BE ON TIME. Once we’re on the ferry, it will be very difficult to catch up. 🎟️ Ferry Ticket: $9.57 You must purchase your ticket in advance. [CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS!](https://secure.toronto.ca/FerryTicketOnline/tickets2/index.jsp) 🎟️ Meetup Fee: $5 cash in person or e-transfer to 📧 \*\*[mathewmaclean@hotmail.com**](http://mathewmaclean@hotmail.com%2A%2A/) This helps support the group and allows us to keep hosting events like this. Thank you for supporting community! 💖 🎒 What to Bring Water Comfortable walking shoes A snack (or something small to share!) Layers (it can be cooler by the water 🌬️) Sunscreen or sunglasses (on brighter days) Please also use the washroom before arriving, as stops are limited early on. 🌈 Who Is This For? This group is open to anyone who wants to be social and make friends — whether single or not. We also host: 🎬 Movies 🚶 Walks & hikes 🎭 Arts & culture outings 🍽️ Restaurant gatherings There’s always something happening. R EMEMBER: You’re welcome to just show up on the day if you’re unsure about your schedule. And as always, sometimes plans shift and events may need to be canceled — please keep an eye on updates. 👤 Organizer: Mathew Questions? Post on the event wall or email 📧 [torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com](mailto:torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com) Come for the fresh air. Stay for the skyline. Leave feeling like you took a trip — without ever leaving the city. 🌊✨

Ride the Toronto Loop
Ride the Toronto Loop
After a half century(!) it’s time to close The Toronto Loop. [TORONTO COMMUNITY BIKEWAYS COALITION](https://www.communitybikewaysto.ca/) is producing and leading this epic spring ride. Volunteer marshalls will support the ride. The Loop trail is an ALMOST complete 72km circuit of trails that includes the waterfront, Humber River, Finch Hydro Corridor, and Don River trails. Unfortunately, there are about ten small gaps that undermine the value of The Loop Trail for everyday/utilitarian, recreational, and tourism cyclists. The Loop Trail is part of the city's Ravine Strategy, although the gaps are all on roads. The Loop was first announced by the city in 2020, but there has been little progress -- until the launch of the TCBC advocacy campaign and ride in November 2025. You can ride with us for the full 72km, or join us at various locations **Estimated Itinerary:** 9 AM The Well, in front of Fix Coffee & Bikes - they have Bromptons & great in-house made pastries! 9:40 Foot of Humber bridge \~ group photo 10:10 James Gardens off Edenbridge \~ washroom break 10:55 West Humber Gap \~ ascend stairway :( 12 noon Finch at Weston Rd SW Corner Parking Lot \~ snack break & staging area for Finch rail underpass route 1 PM Esther Shiner Community Centre \~ Lunch & washroom break 1:45 Finch at top of East Don Trail 2 Sheppard at Leslie 2:10 401 Underpass crossing 2:30 exit from Betty Sutherland Trail at Duncan Mills Rd 3:15 Brickworks at Bayview Ave \~ washroom break 4:15 Return to The Well We expect 50+ people to ride with us! TCBC estimates 6.5 hours (I think it'll take longer) with lunch & washroom breaks so bring water, snacks, stamina, and reality if you cannot ride this ride or at a pace to keep up. **CHECK** your bicycle's brakes, air, and chain prior to the day.

Say hello to Don....don river
Say hello to Don....don river
**MeetUp Location: Finch Subway Station** Toronto is filled with great nature to explore! So we are off to visit Don,; don river who connects nature throughout toronto and runs far. \*City Hike along the Old Rail Corridor Trail and East Don River\* This 15+ km trail starts and ends at subway stations, winds through lush ravines with river views, and offers spring greenery in mid-April that's vibrant after winter. In mid-April, Toronto's ravines burst with fresh green leaves on maples and oaks, wildflowers like trilliums start blooming, and the Don River flows actively from snowmelt, creating small cascades. Expect clear valley views, birdwatching (woodpeckers, herons), and possible deer sightings in the wooded sections—far more vivid than winter's bare trees. This time avoids summer crowds and bugs while highlighting spring's renewal, with mild temperatures perfect for a perfect outing. \*Trail Overview\* Begin at Finch Station on Line 1 (Yonge-University). Head northeast via nearby paths into Newtonbrook Park, then connect east to the Don River trails in East Don Parkland. The route follows German Mills Creek and the East Don River south through forested parklands, passing interpretive signs and memorial trees, before reaching Leslie Station on Line 4 (Sheppard). Total distance is around 15-18 km one-way, taking 4-5 hours at a moderate pace. \*Practical Tips\* Pack water, snacks, and layers for variable ravine microclimates; trails are mostly flat with some moderate hills/roots, suitable for trail runners or hikers. Check TTC for service (frequent on Lines 1/4)
