Our selected film screens on Saturday of the films festival, and features an additional Screening by a club affiliated director, Danielle Weinberg (Invasion “53). The Group will be assembling in the Nova Cinema Bar, at 6:15PM sharp. If your new to the club, or your curious about us, please also consider attending a meeting so we can meet you ourselves. New turnups welcome on the night too, so no pressure! After the film, please join us as we proceed to a nearby Cafe (Brunetti) to discuss the film and enjoy the atmosphere! The hilarious Birdman Rally is a long-held Moomba tradition that sees competitors hurtle themselves off a platform over the Yarra River to see who can fly the furthest before splashing down. The rally runs from 11 am to 12 pm on Sunday, 8th March, and the platform is usually on the North side/City side of the Yarra, so it's best photographed from the south side. Our meeting point will be behind the Alexandra Gardens Skate Park on Boathouse Drive at 10:30 am. My aim is to bring together a like-minded community to junk journal and craft alongside one another, in a low pressure environment.🧵🎨 While I deeply love analogue, hands-on creative practices — and recognise how personal they can be — they can also lead us to spending *too* much time alone. I think many of us can feel that sense of community and connection slowly slipping away. I feel passionate about bringing creativity and community together. There is a real hunger for spaces where people can gather, make, and simply be — together. I want to create a group where you can bring whatever you’re currently working on creatively. Whether that’s junk journalling or another craft practice, the focus is on coming together and creating collectively. There is an open invitation to share your work if you feel called to, but absolutely no pressure — this is a gentle, supportive space first and foremost. This space is shaped by the understanding of how powerful creativity can be when held in community and I hope for us to build one together. Jewellers can hire a desk in our workshop to make or finish off their own pieces. This workshop is self run, you need to attend a health and safety induction before working daily unattended. Basic jewellery making tools are provided and some consumables such as flux, borax, tumbling polish, lathe polish and some drill bits. Howdy all it's been ages since I've had a chance to host a horror meetup but thought I'd kick it off again for 2026. We are into the 7th Scream, I'm that old I remember seeing the first with all my teen friends. I'm not expecting a masterpiece, but the last one had some really good scenes. Sidney Prescott-Evans (Neve Campbell) must protect her teenage daughter, Tatum (Isabel May), when a new Ghostface killer terrorises their quiet town of Pine Grove. As the past resurfaces, Sidney faces the masked threats once more to end the bloodshed for good. Join us on Sunday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking! • What we'll do Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at noon on Sundays. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 12:00 - quick intros. 12:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 1:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 1-1:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session.
