Magical Writing Workshop
Our monthly magical writing workshop is appropriate for writers of all levels and types (poetry and prose). Join TaraTheBard in a guided discussion about magical writing practices, ancestral connection and creativity, seasonal writing practices, publication luck magic, putting craft into storycrafting, and more. Each session focuses on the theme of a tarot card.
This inclusive workshop provides support to new and experienced writers, a thematic prompt, in-workshop writing time, and space to share ideas and results. Paper notebooks, laptops, and tablets encouraged. Bring your best writing tools, your favorite blanket, a cozy cup of tea, or whatever you need to connect with the spirits of writing. \*\*New attendees welcome!\*\*
This month, we plan to create and enact a group spell, discuss the Lovers theme, and explore how that theme could appear in our writing. Please note that "Lovers" can be interpreted broadly depending on the reading, and does not have to focus on romantic love.
FOCUS: February's Magical Writing Workshop focuses on The Lovers -- a major arcana card of the tarot. Please bring your favorite tarot deck's Lovers card (though you may also borrow a store deck if needed).
Writing Review: January's Magical Writing Workshop focused on winter creativity and the tarot symbol of the hermit and their lantern. We will devote part of the time to discussing our Hermit writing.

Circlesinging Together ** Elwood Smith Community Center, Rockville **
We are meeting in person at Elwood Smith Community Center, Rockville.
\*\*\*
The community-singing event where where everything's made up and the point — to sing for our lives — matters.
Our leaders will teach you parts to sing for spontaneously-composed choral pieces. We play a variety of listening/music/singing games, and create safe opportunities for participants to improvise as little or as much as they might like.
Good for all skill levels, shower-singers to seasoned pros, no sheet-music-reading required.
This month we welcome special guest and co-leader [Micah Hendler](http://micahhendler.com/), a musical changemaker building community through song - with Palestinian and Israeli youth in the [Jerusalem Youth Chorus](http://jerusalemyouthchorus.org/), here in the DMV through [Community Sings at Levine Music](https://www.levinemusic.org/performance/community-sings/), and more.
\*\*\*
We usually meet on the second Sunday of the month, and will continue to meet in-person as long as it makes sense. We encourage and provide masks.
We will also plan on continuing our Zoom circles from time to time. So please check the day before/day of the meetup each month to confirm date & details.
This world needs more song; join in the fun, and be the music you want to hear in the world.
Hope to see you there!

MONTHLY Love at First Bite Diners!
Welcome to a new feature going into 2026, the Monthly "Love at First Bite Diners". This will be a gender-balanced dinner/lunch/brunch that will cross all cuisines, locations, and price points.
This month, we will visit Patsy's American for Lunch. I have a table reserved for 8 ppl. so that we can all get to know one another. While I will not be "pairing" people up, I'll do my best to get an equal share of genders and ages.
This is how we will do this:
The RSVP's will not be open. You will actually be added to the Waitlist, and I will accept your RSVP according to what I need to keep everything balanced, as well as your past participation in these LAFB (Love at First Bite) events. If there is someone you are interested in who is on the Waitlist, let me know, and I will see what I can do. :-)
NOTE: Since spaces are limited, I will require a refundable deposit of $20 from all new attendees. I will be contacting you individually with more information.
