After-work bike ride: Ostkreuz → Köpenick and back. Shake off the workday with a relaxed evening ride to Köpenick. We'll cycle there, walk by the river, and stop at Freiheit Fünfzehn — a lovely summer garden where we can grab a snack or drink, chat, and relax. Then we head back via a different route. Any bike type works. No special experience needed - just show up and enjoy the ride Köpenick is a small town on the Spree. It's a great spot to walk along the river, explore the historic old town, catch a film at the outdoor cinema, or just have a beer at one of the riverside beer gardens. The ride itself is scenic too — you'll cycle through the beautiful Treptower Park and pass some atmospheric abandoned industrial sites. • Start & End: S-Bahn Ostkreuz • Distance: \~24 km (12 km each way) • Terrain: Flat, paved bike paths • Pace: The one you are comfortable with — we are here to relax after work, it's not a race • Recommended to bring: water and lights • Equipment: Up to you but you're responsible for your own safety. We will depart at 10:00 (sharp) and drive to a parking space near the lake. From there it is a 10 minute walk. I have to be back in town by 15:00. Note that the place is remote. There are no facilities. The practice of meditation is a simple, yet profound practice that helps us to connect with ourselves and gives us tools to release experiences of distraction, agitation, and stress. In the Buddhist tradition, meditation is more than just a way to end the mind´s distraction - it is what helps us to bring our mind home to its true nature. What better way to experience the colourful facets of meditation than with a group of like-minded people? Hence our open meditation sessions always have a social element as well - we like to have a tea and share about our meditation experiences, or whatever else we want to explore. On this Sunday we a planning to open a new season of easy hiking with Wade. We are going to discover the south-western corner of Brandenburg - the Schlosspark Wiesenburg. These scenic castle and large park were established in XII century, and are easily accessible by regional express (free with D-ticket). Our meeting is at 10:00 at Berlin-Friedrichstrasse station. At 10:12 we take RE7 (direction Dessau) to Wiesenburg. If you prefer to take train at other stations, you can also join us at Alexanderplatz, HBF, Zoologischergarten, Charlottenburg, Wannsee, or even in Postdam. We will hike the famous Fairfax County Cross County Trail (CCT). We’ll depart from the Lake Audubon pool area and follow the CCT trail north for three miles and back three miles for a total of 6 miles. The route features a pleasant mix of dirt, gravel, and paved surfaces, with a few gentle hills—none exceeding 200 feet. Along the way, we’ll also enjoy a one-mile stretch of the W&OD Trail. After the hike, we’ll head to Lake Anne Brew House, an award-winning spot known for its small-batch beers and beautiful views overlooking Lake Anne.
