Open Draw

Mavericks Bouldering — A Casual Climb & Hangout in Berlin
A small NEXUS gathering built around movement rather than discussion alone.
This is for high-bandwidth Mavericks who spend most of their time in conceptual thought and need some physical counterweight. Why bouldering? Because it’s deliberate: short problems, full focus, and immediate feedback. You’re on the wall, solving something tangible. The mental noise drops instantly!
Conversations happen naturally in between climbs. No pressure, you move at your own pace. Some exchanges stay light. Others go deep. Both are fine. This is not about athletic achievement. It’s about presence, recalibration, and being around people who don’t require you to shrink or translate yourself.
Come as you are. Try some bouldering problems. Rest when needed, and engage where it makes sense.
**Bring comfortable clothes and climbing shoes if you have them (rentals are available at the gym).**
*Registration equals commitment. If you sign up, you show up. Read the group description first and decide consciously. For context about NEXUS, visit our* ***[website](https://thenexusformula.com)*** *and* ***[newsletter](https://news.thenexusformula.com)****.*
Tandem Deutsch Spanisch
German Sprachcafé at Denizen! From A1 to B1 *Read Description
**Hi everyone!**
We’ll now be meeting twice a week at Denizen House (Köpenicker Str. 40, 10179 Berlin), on **Mondays and Wednesdays**!
* **Mondays:** levels A1 to B1
* **Wednesdays:** levels B1 to C1
We work with dedicated materials tailored to each level, so everyone will have a place to practice and improve.
**Event schedule**
* **18:00 – 18:30** Arrival and registration
* **18:30 – 19:50** Sprachcafé
* **19:50 – 20:00** End and clean up
Please be aware that the moderated event starts at **18:30**. Before this time, we are busy setting up the space.
Registrations usually take place around **18:15 / 18:20**.
Participants are kindly asked **not to arrive too far in advance** at the house.
If someone arrives much earlier, Denizen may ask them to pay either for a drink (consumption) or for a **day pass**, as the space is a co-working environment during the day. **Please remember, our event is only happening from 18:00 to 20:00**
**How the Sprachcafé works**
We use different materials to help participants gain confidence in German. Together with whiteboards and our volunteers, the Sprachcafé is based on **interactive conversations** in small groups.
**Participation fee**
The Sprachcafé has a **participation fee of 5 €**, which helps cover organizational costs and **includes one soft drink for free**.
Tickets can be purchased directly on the day of the event, card and cash payments are accepted.
As the Sprachcafé has become very popular, we now need to **limit the number of participants**. Please understand this measure; it ensures that everyone has a comfortable space to practice.
We kindly ask you to be **rücksichtsvoll** and only RSVP “Yes” if you are certain you can attend.
If your plans change at the last minute, please update your RSVP so someone on the waiting list can take your spot.
Getting your ticket early can help secure your place.
**Please note**
Our event will begin **promptly** at the scheduled start time.
If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee your participation, even if you have a ticket or have RSVP’d.
We encourage all guests to arrive on time to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Read Editing: Monthly Writers Meetup for Sharing, Feedback & Co-Creating
\*This is a free event, but please [donate through Eventbrite](https://www.eventbrite.de/e/read-editing-monthly-writers-meetup-tickets-1981513291596?aff=oddtdtcreator) to support our collective if you are able!
Please join us on the 2nd Monday of every month for this event, built for all of your “in between works“ by the [Read Wedding](https://www.instagram.com/readwedding/) collective.
Most events for writers are focused around ***creation or performance***. Much comes between this, yet we do not always hold each other through that phase. It is perhaps expected that all of those self-questioning, unsure, multi-path moments between lightbulb idea and snap-inducing performances are to be personal and private -- but they do not always have to be. We therefore offer you a space for everything unfinished. Needing bouncing around. Ready for a test run.
We will meet in a more traditional meetup format than our open mic -- without any set format of facilitation. We will determine the approach to each session based on who's arrived and what their goals are. You may expect some combination of solitary writing time, sharing and feedback, and guided exercises. We'd love for you to show up however you are, and with some writing materials (including your phone, if you prefer). However you arrive, so long as you are feeling curious and open, we will have something for you and your work.
See you there!
Brooks, Bubamarrë & Johanna

**NOTE: Excluding select, small workshops, Read Wedding has hosted entirely free events since we started. If you have the means and would like to support us, it goes a long way. There Must Be a Lilac: EventStorming with Alberto Brandolini
He's back! The inventor of EventStorming is once again joining the Berlin Collaborative Modeling Meetup for an evening of massive learning, massive laughter, and no doubt a massive number of sticky notes.
Here is the agenda:
**Collaborative Reverse Roadmapping**
We'll put future events on a timeline to build the future we want to happen and make it tactically sound. We'll leverage ideas from
* EventStorming (surprise!)
* Futurespective
* Traditional planning
And we'll explore a tool that will enable strategic planning and overcome deadlocks.
This is a rare opportunity to spend time with a true thought leader in the DDD community and the person who contributed to the world the whole premise of our meetup. He's full of insights and stories, wit and wisdom, and we are lucky to have him drop by to share them with us. Don't miss this one!
**Please do not RSVP if you do not intend to come. For this event only, we have to limit attendance.**
As always, everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a software engineer to participate. In fact, it would be great to have more people who aren't software engineers. We're here to solve problems cross-functionally, not get into implementation details. As long as you care passionately about getting things right, then you belong here!
This is a hands-on workshop. Be prepared to participate fully and add to the energy of the room. Looking forward to seeing you there!

In this interactive AMA session, Valentina Scipione will answer your questions about careers in tech.
Bring anything you have been wondering about, for example:
* navigating the current job market
* what hiring managers actually look for
* career transitions within tech
* job search strategy
* how AI may reshape roles in data and engineering
No slides. Just your questions and an open conversation.

**Talk 2: Solving real life problems with basic Python**
**Abstract:** 2 years ago I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting an amazing person who invited me to join the Python en Español community.
This community is mainly aimed at people who have 0 to no knowledge about the language and they want to learn. The recurring problem for many of these practitioner is to find good real life examples to practice their skills.
Did you know that you can solve 90% of business problems with only prints and inputs?
well, maybe that was a lie but not far off from the truth.
In this talk I want to guide you on how you can solve a real life case scenario of a business wanting to adjust the prices of their articles base on real time demand. Starting with a few variables an input and a print and slowly grow into a real time system consuming from different sources, to answer the hardest question there is.
Was it worth it? or should we have stopped at reading from files 7 iterations ago?
**Speaker:** Eric Rishmüller
**Bio:** Eric works as a Lead Data Engineer at Thomann Musikhaus. He has been living in Berlin for the past five years and is originally from Argentina. Eric started sharing his passion for Python seven years ago and is quite active in Spanish-speaking Python communities.
**Lightning talks**
There will be slots for 2-3 Lightning Talks (3-5 Minutes for each).
Kindly let us know if you would like to present something at the start of the meetup :)

Building Agents with Microsoft Foundry
We will show a variety of methods for building agents that run in Microsoft Foundry. This covers the different types of agents: Prompt, Multi, and Hosted, as well as the development lifecycle using evals and traces.
CBusData - Discover the Power of Window Functions
Window functions have nothing to do with the Windows operating system but provide a “window” to a result set when used in SQL queries. They are powerful, set-based methods to view data in unexpected ways. Window functions provide easy, set-based solutions to solve some common problems:
* Using running totals
* Performing operations in intervals
* Identifying data gaps and islands
* Performing aggregates without losing detail
Many people are confused by window functions and do not know how to use them properly. This session will explore window functions, how they work, and how to use them. Demonstrations with several examples will solidify how window functions can simplify queries and make them more powerful.

Do you have a game that you would like to get critical feedback on? Would you like an excuse to work on a game with other talented artists, programmers, musicians, designers, and writers? Digital, table-top, non-experienced developers, and the like are welcomed! We'll provide signage for your game to help others learn more about your work. Wifi, outlets, tables, and seats (though standing tables also) are available.
Come to the Prototype and Play workshop to collaborate and meet local game developers for an evening of epic and raw game play fun! Play works-in-progress, show off your own game, work with others to add polish to a game, or even lend your talents to other fellow developers.
Can use South Garage at the Gateway with a $5 voucher on your way out.
