A month into spring already, summer may be just around the corner, and for those that have the Dublin Marathon on their dance card later this year, thoughts must be switching to the Training Plans. For the rest of us, not that we don't welcome marathon buds, we still want to enjoy a leisurely run with friends on a wednesday evening, followed by a few beers and chat with fellow travellers. This week, whether you are a future marathoner, or simply want a little bit of exercise, (we only run around 4kM,) and to meet new friends, we will be running to **Murphy's Pub in Rathmines.** so come along and enjoy the craic For newcomers, our Group Runs are great fun, safe for all, and once the run is complete, we can share a beer, have a good chat, make new friends, and look forward to the following week. Join for the group for a 10km run in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday evenings. We start running at 6:15pm SHARP. The pace will be approximately 5:30/5:40 mins/km, ideally you will need to be able to run at this pace to stay with the group. **Description:** The weather is too good to spend the evening indoors! Join us this Wednesday for a mid-week stretch as we take on the Poolbeg Lighthouse trail. It’s one of the best ways to clear the head after work, enjoy the sea breeze, and see the city from the bay. **The Plan:** * **Meeting Point:** Sean Moore Park entrance, Irishtown (see below) * **Time:** 6:00 PM * **The Route:** From Irishtown out to the red lighthouse and back (Approx. 2 hours). * **Post-Walk:** For anyone interested, we’ll grab a coffee or a quick bite nearby afterwards to chat and refuel. **What to bring:** Comfortable walking shoes and maybe a light layer—the breeze can pick up once we’re out on the wall!

About us: The Tibetan Dharma and Meditation Group is part of a Buddhist organisation based in Taiwan, which is centred on one of the greatest living Rinpoches (teachers) in the world at the moment. It aims to introduce people living in Ireland to Buddhist teachings and practices that have been passed to Rinpoche through his masters and their masters going back many, many generations in order to benefit and bring peace to all sentient beings. Location: We hold our meetings in the small hall at Sandyford Community Centre, Lambs Cross, Sandyford, Dublin 18.

Mix of paces in this group from 6:30 min per km to close to 5 min per km. For those that want to do a longer distance, they will probably start earlier and link up with us for 9AM If you are doing one of the earlier runs (Such as Harry's run), please sign up for this too. Ideally we will run the trails if they are not too wet. Meet near the bus stop at the visitors centre car park. If you have any question, please get in touch. We will start the session with some light stretching exercises to warm us up, and help to prepare us for the run. The pace of the run will be steady, depending on who is running with us on the day. Days when we have a large group we may break into multiple groups, each operating independently at their own pace. Saturdays are good for intermediate runners, and is usually a 10km run, again at a steady pace. If you're looking to get into running, come along on Tuesday or Thursday mornings and I will coach you, at your pace, to get you up to running (jogging) to 5km without stops. The only thing I will ask, if you're a beginner, is that you're able to walk for approx 30 minutes at a relaxed pace. PLEASE NOTE: That, if you RSVP a particular event, then please ensure that you attend, as there may be other members relying on you for company on the run. IMPORTANT NOTE: Any run or activity that you participate in with the group will be at your own risk. Usually we have a post run (after our cool down) coffee in the Dash container at the Hole in the Wall pub.

This event is for anyone seeking a social run with like minded people. It will consist of 2 loops. the first loop will be run at 6 20 - 6 30 per km pace and will be about 7 km in length. We will then join with the main Dublin Runners group at 9:00 am back at the Visitors Centre (VC), where a variety of pace options will be available. This second loop will be approximately 10 km to 12 km. So you can choose to join at 8 15 am or 9 00 am. Please arrive 5 mins early as we are firm about start times. We usually finish with tea and cake in the cafe in the VC. If your pace is lower than 6 30 per km for about 8 km this run may not be for you. Some people are using this to prepare for the Dublin half marathon on the May bank holiday weekend. if you have any questions contact Harry.

Should you find yourself free then why not join us for a walk along the Grand and Royal Canals. Taking in the Famine Way, the Phoenix Park and the Irish National War Memorial Gardens. Meeting at 10am Weston Airport entrance, parking along the cul de-sac. Approximately 35klm so bring some nibbles and liquids of choice, plenty of coffee stops along the way for lunch.

Explore Hollywood Forest Loop in County Wicklow. * Meeting Point : Connolly Station, Dublin. * When: 12:10 PM, Friday, 24th of April. * Arriving : 13:35 PM to Hollywood, Wicklow. We will be meeting at Dublin Connolly Train Station for 12:10 PM (Inside the train station beside Pret A Manger), Waiting time 8 Minutes After the 8 minutes of waiting we will be walking outside and walking to Connolly Station Bus Stop (Stop Number 135121). It is beside the Luas Stop We will be taking the 132 Tullow Bus which is scheduled for 12:30 PM (Bus Eireann). Bus Duration, 1 Hour and 5 Minutes (3 Stops), Connolly, Tallaght and Blessington. Arriving in Hollywood, Wicklow at 13:35 PM, it is a 6 minute walk to the starting point of the trail. There is a coffee shop in Hollywood called Hollywood Cafe, there is indoor and outdoor seating and a toilet. Trail Loop (Moderate) 5.3 KM, Duration 1 in a half to 2 hours. **Discaimer** We have to be back to the Hollywood Bus Stop for 15:21 becuase that is the only Bus returning to Dublin at Customs House Quay 16:26 PM. If we do not get the returning Bus, we will find it really hard to get back to Dublin. Every event is 5 Euro's, you can pay by using Revolut or Cash. I hope to see you there,

Throughout the session you will get to experience a variety of climbs as well as take of an exciting abseil or two! These sessions very much welcome complete beginners. We will meet in Killiney Hill Car Park, our Black Go Beyond Adventure Van will be parked at the back of the car park. The meeting point is only a 10 minute walk from Dalkey Dart station for those of you coming by train. We'll hike 3.4 miles on the Killdeer and Yellowlegs Trails - both out and back gravel trails. If we want more mileage we can repeat an out and back. Pace of around 3.5 mph, no one left behind and those who want to go faster sure can! As always optional lunch after. This is the second Metro Park in the lineup for me - with 21 to go (plus more are being added).

**Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!** **We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. Pace of around 3.5 mph but no one left behind.** **If there is an interest we can grab lunch nearby afterward at Prost Beer and Wine Cafe. Www.prostcafe.com**
