Reading Party ☕️📚
\*\*\*\*\*\*
***For address and more details see the website www.pausify.org***
\*\*\*\*\*\*
**Event Info:**
Bring along your **current book to read** (or something **creative** to work on ) and join us for this mix of a shared focus time + discussion.
\- 11:00\-11:30 \- Meet & greet
\- 11:30\-12:30 \- Silent focus time
\- 12:30 \- Discussion of books/ projects over coffee \(**Drinks & snacks are included** ☕️)
Afterwards, join for lunch if you'd like (optional).
* **To reserve your place, a ticket (€9,90/event) or a community pass (only €19,90/MONTH) [from the website ](https://pausify.org/)*www.pausify.org* is required**
* **Attendance here doesn’t show sign-ups from other platforms. We usually have about 50 to 100 people at each event.**
***FAQ: Why does it cost money if I bring my own project?***
Because we rent a beautiful, central space for every event. Ever thought your monthly apartment rent was too high? Well, multiply that – that’s what commercial spaces in big cities like Berlin cost *per hour*.
Of course, if all you want is just some quiet time, your home or a library is perfect. But if you’d like to focus & connect with others in an inspiring space – with drinks, snacks included – that’s what your ticket helps to cover.

**SPECIAL OFFER FOR NEW USERS**

* Valid for this trip or any other trips available on our website.
**WHY GO?**
Berlin is often thought of as a flat city, but Grunewald hides a surprising landscape of wooded hills and sweeping viewpoints.
This hike follows sandy woodland trails and quiet paths along the Havel River, gradually climbing through the forest to reach some of Berlin’s best vantage points. We’ll climb the steps of the historic Grunewaldturm before stopping for a relaxed break at Kaisergarten am Grunewaldturm, a traditional beer garden overlooking the river.
From there, we continue through the forest and up to the summit of Drachenberg, where wide views open out across the Grunewald and the distant Berlin skyline.
It’s a chance to leave the busy streets behind, enjoy some fresh forest air, and spend the day exploring one of Berlin’s most beautiful landscapes with a group of curious explorers.
**WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?**
**Grunewald:** Berlin’s largest forest, filled with sandy trails, glacial hills, and quiet lakes. A favourite escape for those looking for nature just outside the city.
**Havel River:** One of the major rivers of the Berlin-Brandenburg region. Here the river widens into large lakes and peaceful bays surrounded by forest.
**Grunewaldturm:** Built in 1899, this historic observation tower rises above the forest overlooking the Havel. Climb the steps to enjoy wide views over the lakes, woodland, and the distant Berlin skyline.
**Kaisergarten am Grunewaldturm:** A classic German beer garden beside the tower. With views across the river, it’s the perfect place for a relaxed break, a drink, or a snack.
**Drachenberg:** One of Berlin’s best viewpoints. From the top you’ll see a sweeping panorama across the Grunewald, Teufelsberg, and the Berlin skyline. We’ll aim to reach the summit in the early evening, with the chance of catching sunset — a memorable way to finish the hike.
**WHAT IS THE PLAN?**
* **10:00 AM-Option A: Meeting in Alexanderplatz S Bahn Station:** Meet at Alexanderplatz station and take the S Bahn to Nikolassee Station.
* **11:30 AM-Option B: Meeting in Nikolassee S Bahn Station**: Arrive at Nikolassee station and kick-off with brief introductions before starting our hike into Grunewald Forest
* **12:30 PM-Scenic Hike Along the Havel:** Continue hiking the hilly forest trails along the Havel, taking breaks as desired at any of the numerous benches with beautiful lake views.
* **03:30 PM-Lunch Break at Grunewaldturm Biergarten:** Arrive at the Kaisergarten am Grunewaldturm Biergarten for a well-deserved lunch and climb the Grunewaldturm
* **05:00 PM-Hike Towards Teufelsberg & Drachenberg:** Continue hiking through the peaceful Grunewald Forest and over Teufelsberg towards Drachenberg
* **07:15 PM-Sunset Views from Drachenberg:** Reach the top of Drachenberg and take a break to soak up the panoramic views and sunset
**WHAT IS INCLUDED?**
* Community leader & guide for the entire duration
* Access to Google photos album dedicated for this trip for sharing all your amazing pics & videos from the trip.
* Access to a WhatsApp group for confirmed participants.
**OPTIONAL ADD-ONS:**
* Entry to the Grunewaldturm viewing platform is optional. Participants who wish to climb the tower can purchase their own ticket at the entrance. Please carry cash of 5 euros for tickets at the entrance.

Sunday Tech Coffee Meetup
Welcome to Sunday Tech Coffee. This is a **networking** event for those in the tech industry in Berlin.
We are usually inside and to the right. Ask the barista/bartender if you can't find us.
Portrait Drawing on Sunday Afternoon
This group is for everyone who is interested in drawing portraits!
For me, drawing has been a wonderful way to gain a new perspective on the world and the people within it.
Whether you are just starting out or have been drawing for ages — all levels are welcome :)
How it works:
1\. We meet at The Castle pub in Mitte and do short sittings of 15 minutes for each other\. The first sitting is divided into 3 warm\-up sketches\, 5 minutes each\.
2\. Before we start\, everybody writes their name on a blank card \(provided by the organizer\); these cards are then used to randomly pick the model every 15 minutes\.
3\. Usually we do 8 sittings\, with a 15\-minute break in the middle \(so after 4 sittings\, or 1 hour\)\.
-> The participation is free, but it is expected that everybody orders something from the bar to support the lovely location.
Get out your pencils and let's start!
Please bring your own art supplies!
Silent Reading Club
Ditch the old book club, where everyone has to read the same book...this is better!
It works like this: Bring your own book. Come chat, have some tea or coffee, get to know your neighbors. Then we quietly read together, side by side, for about one hour, each one reading their own book, and afterwards we talk with each other about what we are reading.
The usual agenda:
- Arrival and introduction (~20 minutes)
- Silent reading (~1 hour)
- Discussion (~30-40 minutes)
- Join us for a bite at a local restaurant afterwards, if you like!
You may read in any language, you may read any book. We are a group of international residents of Berlin from many different countries, of all ages, and we converse in English. We welcome you!
No registration needed – the event is donation based. All funds support the Offenes Wohnzimmer.

Drawing Cafe [#14] Coffee & Sketching in Berlin
We meet and sketch each other in Berlin. This is just an art gym that we also exercise our social skills. Afterwards usually we go for lunch as a group.
**How Does It Work?**
This event is simple, we meet and sketch each other doing portraits. Most of the participants use pencils or watercolors. Main aim is to socialize while we draw. There will be plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. We have to mention that this event is suitable for all levels. Many have started to draw in our event actually.
**Structure**
A. Warmup Phase: We pose to each other for 1 minute.
B. Main Phase: We pose to each other for 10 minutes.
C. Showcase Phase: We show some of the drawings we did to each other.
**Who We Are**
Creative Sessions is an art events group located in Berlin.
**Is it Free?**
The event is free of charge.
It is advisable to get a drink though. This is a cafe, we need to have at least half of the people on each table with a drink. They accept only cash and most hot drinks cost from 2.50 to 3.50.
**How to help or donate?**
The event is provided for free but many people help this be a regular thing. We also need people to volunteer and help for minor tasks like the serving of the drinks or cleaning up. Just send us a message.
If you want to donate and keep this event from happening, via Paypal to the host (Miltos) :

**Art Materials?**
Bring your own art materials.

Berlin Networking und Business Strategy Meetup
Hi, This is Sagar here. This is my first ever group and just the second event. The point is: to come open-minded and look forward to meet some Berliners interested to learn, grow and build. Or help others to Learn, grow and build. As I said earlier, I am someone with an itch to get into entrepreneurship, but lacking the exact directions, and failing myself in some of the very basic things. I am sure there are many, sailing in the same ship. Building a business needs a bit of everything : Digital literacy, knowledge of the bureaucracy, taxation, network building, social media skills, Tech- aptitude, AI-competence and what not. Lets meet and find out who can help whom with what. At the end, there is nothing to lose. We all will make friends and learn a thing or two. Cheers.
Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Hey everyone!
I’m organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂
To ensure that we have both **socialising** AND **working**, we will be using the so called “Pomodoro” technique:
**50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks.
It’s an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique).
Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background.
I (the host) speak English and German, so either is fine :-)
——————————————————-
AGENDA:
* **15min Intro**
* Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today
* **Pomodoro Session** (3x) - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...*
* ...**50min** of uninterrupted “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, no phones)
* ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc.
* Repeat
* Conclude and celebrate your progress
Share your progress, socialise and get to know others 😊
————
We'll be at the Social Hub Berlin (they have a food menu in case you get hungry). The structured part will end at 2:30pm, but you're welcome to stay longer, go for lunch together, or leave earlier. See you there 🩵
**\*\*We'll reserve the long table. Please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***

Reading Shakespeare Socratically (The Merchant of Venice Acts 3, 4, & 5)
New members are always welcome. It's ok to have missed any or all of the sessions involving other plays.
Current Reading: **The Merchant of Venice Acts 3, 4, & 5**
Completed Plays: Julius Caesar, The Winter's Tale
GUIDELINES:
***Participants should complete the reading before each session. It's no problem not to have understood everything, but without some familiarity with the text prior to meeting it will be difficult to have a conversation.***
***Also, it's not necessary that English be your first language in order to join, but your command and understanding of English should be that you're able to participate confidently in discussions about ideas, feelings, and abstract things.***
**"Reading Shakespeare Socratically?"** \-\- This means we'll put questions to the text and try to make it speak\, as though it is a living person and we are its interlocutor\. We'll ask it questions about what the text has said and then try to find answers\. Mostly\, this just means having a discussion amongst ourselves but there are a few guidelines that\, in my experience\, have proven immensely helpful to having a substantial conversation:
**#1** Avoid Outside Sources; interpretations you read on the internet about what the play really means, academic papers/lectures (unless they are your own), personal stories/anecdotes, biographically-driven analysis of the text, interpolations about Shakespeare's personality, facts about Shakespeare's life., etc.
**#2** Try to ground what you say in the text -- it's not necessary to quote something every time you speak, but referencing passages, etc. will create great conversation.
**#3** Be conscious of your own speaking time. If there are 10 people and 120 minutes of event time, then people have roughly 12 minutes each to speak. Nobody will keep track, but it' a good reference point to keep in mind.
We also strive to practice [the principle of charity when considering another's point of view.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principle_of_charity)
**My Role/About Me:** I will moderate the discussion and begin each session by asking an opening question that should serve as a point-of-entry into the text. I don't posit myself as an expert or authority. Nor do I claim to have the "right" answers, but I do have a lot of experience participating in such discussions and a solid background in reading Shakespeare.
This is a free event.
