"Gay Aprons Only": the most sassy cooking class in town
"Gay Aprons Only": the most sassy cooking class in town
The "Gay Aprons Only cooking class is back this May. If you are looking for something fun, cheeky, and a little different for your Saturday night? Don’t miss this. This is a playful and social cooking experience designed for gay men who enjoy great food, learning something new, good company, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We’ll kick off the evening with a glass of bubbles and a selection of antipasti to break the ice. Then, together, we’ll dive into preparing a traditional Italian dish from scratch. This time, you’ll learn how to make *Pasta allo Sparone*, filled with ricotta cheese and wild herbs, a unique recipe from the Abruzzo region — known not only for its bold flavours, but also for its unconventional preparation and presentation. It’s definitely something you won’t forget. The class takes place in a cosy private flat near Victoria Station and is limited to a small group of up to 10 people, keeping things intimate and relaxed. Cooking together is the perfect way to meet like-minded people, share laughs, learn new skills… and maybe even flirt a little šŸ˜‰ And yes — as the theme suggests — we’ll be cooking wearing only an apron (provided on arrival). **What’s included:** * All ingredients for the recipe * Welcome aperitivo with antipasti and a drink * Unlimited Sparkling wine during the class * Aprons and cooking utensils * Cooking tips and guidance * A fun and social evening **Important information:** * Full details will be shared a few days before the event * This experience is for gay men only * Duration: approx. 3 hours (though guests often stay longer to socialise) * Feel free to bring extra drinks if you'd like to continue the evening. * A minimum of 4 participants is required. In the unlikely event of cancellation or rescheduling, you’ll be offered an alternative date or a full refund. **Come hungry, curious, and ready for a memorable night.** Happy vibes, Luca
Saturday Tabletop Games at Premiere Cinemas
Saturday Tabletop Games at Premiere Cinemas
It's **Saturday** & our main night of the week & the fun & games are just getting started here at DWL! We're located here in the Cinema (which can be found on the 3rd floor of the Mercury Mall Shopping Centre) on: * **Tuesdays & Thursdays**: From 17:30 to 22:00. * **Saturdays**: From 12:00 to 22:00 🦁 And we're still running every Monday 6pm to 11pm at the Golden Lion Pub too. šŸŒā˜• There are hot & cold food & drink options available from the cinema at low prices! Supporting Premiere Cinema by buying their food & drink IS supporting Dicing With Life! The cinema has been very generous to us by bringing us into their space & our way of showing our gratitude is by sending some business their way. And their menu is surprisingly cheap! Especially compared to any other cinema. Here's some cool examples of some great **offers**: Buy a large **Popcorn** (it's a huge bucket!) or a large **fizzy drink** & it'll initially cost you Ā£4, BUT, take your bucket or cup back to the bar for a **refill** & the cinema will refill it back up to the top for just Ā£2! šŸæšŸ„¤ That's half price Popcorn & Pop! This also applies to **Ice Blasts** too (Ā£5 initially but to refill it's just Ā£3). There's also Hot Dogs, Nachos, Pick n Mix & many other treats in store too! Check out their menu šŸ˜‹ If you have any questions, please ask & let the fun commence! šŸŽ²

šŸš€Stargazing With Wine, Telescopes & DJ Space Anthems šŸŒ•
🌌Ever look up and marvel with insatiable curiosity at the beauty and wonder of the **universe?** That wild sobering thought that somewhere in the chaos of creation - through the emergence of us - the universe became **conscious** enough to look back in time and not just ask the existential questions, but try to answer them. šŸš€ Join fellow big picture and deep thinkers to take a look at **Venus,** **Jupiter** along with planet's potential life‑harbouring **moons**, iconic beautiful **star fields**, the remnants of supernovae witnessed by our earliest ancestors, **multi‑star systems** reminiscent of the twin suns of *Star Wars* and even **Tau Ceti**, a star hosting two Earth‑like worlds in its habitable zone. All of this under the spring evening - with drinks, engaging conversation, and good‑natured banter — this May. In between observing - we'll have **drinks and engaging chats** on all astronomy related topics for those inclined: Space exploration \| Fermi Paradox \| Astrobiology \| Cosmology \| paleontology\, \| SETI & Drake Equation for alien civilisations estimates \| exoplanetology etc as well as non space chats and banter too\. No doubt we'll hear the usual jokes we've all heard before\! If those don't make you laugh\, my impersonation of Los Angeles ET will\! šŸ‘½ And to help set the mood and make the night feel even extra stary, I’ll put my DJ hat to play some space‑theme tunes and songs about the stars! You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie **==== ITINERARY =====** We will meet outside H&I Station in Highbury Islington. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the local park 5 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related. **After Drinks:** Unless I have a very important 9AM Tue deadline for a unfinished client presentation or something - most of us usually head to a cosy bar for a drink. If so - I will annouce the pub when we leave the park **==== What Can You Expect To See (this time of year)? ====** * Orion Nebula * Jupiter and 4 moons * Meteors * Andromedia Galaxy * Star clusters such as the Pleiades & Owl Cluster etc * International Space station fly by * Binary & tripple star systems (think planet *Tatooine in* Starwars!), * Neptune * Uranuus * Our moon * A look towards the galactic centre of the Mlikyway where that supermassive Ā£22b Labour black hole sits (Sagittarius A) More here from Jodrell Bank Observatory/Astrophysics Centre: [http://www.jb.man.ac.uk/astronomy/nightsky/](http://www.jb.man.ac.uk/astronomy/nightsky/) Guide to viewing the cosmos for beginners: [https://phys.org/news/2018-05-universe-distant-starstips-cosmology-backyard.html#jCp](https://phys.org/news/2018-05-universe-distant-starstips-cosmology-backyard.html#jCp) **===Weather Dependent=====** The event is subject to clear skies forecasts on the night so if on the actual afternoon of the event the weather forecasts looks unsuitable beyond doubt then I will postpone so please check the event status on the day of the event . If this event is still listed here at 5PM on the day, it will be going ahead at the designated day and time! Lucas Skywalker - The Singin, Dancin, DJ-in Astronomer

šŸ”® **Join us as we explore Barbican’s new immersive exhibition, a major work by Liam Young, blending film, sound, design and storytelling.** Please book your ticket on the link below for the 23rd May at 2.45pm (we will meet at 2.30 and will wait 15mins for everyone to arrive) šŸŽ« ** [Book your ticket here.](https://tickets.barbican.org.uk/choose-seats/3431214)** About: The show presents immersive, imagined futures shaped by real-world technology and climate challenges. Rather than dystopia, it invites us to explore the possibilities ahead, offering a thought-provoking glimpse into how today’s choices might shape tomorrow’s world. **We will meet by the information desk, near the entrance and will wait 10-15mins for everyone to arrive.** ā˜•ļø We will take about 1 hour to go through the exhibit then we will go for coffee somewhere inside the Barbican.

Everyone welcome šŸ˜Šā€Øā€©Important to note:

1. We typically socialise at cafƩs after the exhibit, nice, independent ones, not chains and not at pubs. If the event is late on a Saturday we go to a nice bar/pub for drinks after. This meetup is inclusive and everyone is welcome to join.
2. If you get there before everyone and you're not sure what to do or where we are, post a comment on here and I will let you know our whereabouts.
3. Once we go in we may separate, feel free to explore the exhibit by yourself, we don't have to be together. Some people like chatting to others while exploring and other people prefer to be with their own thoughts. You are welcome to express yourself and do whatever helps you feel free.

4. If you are late or if you’ve booked for an earlier or later time don’t worry just go in and you’ll find us inside. Keep an eye on the comments as I’ll be posting updates.
