Wellness Wonder: Taekwondo Forms @Tamar Park
Curious about martial arts but donโt know where to start? Join us for an outdoor Taekwondo Forms session led by **Sophian Ben**, a French Taekwondo practitioner who teaches in English, Mandarin and basic Cantonese. This class focuses on forms (patterns) โ coordinated sequences of movements that build strength, balance, focus and body awareness. No sparring, no pressure, just a friendly space to move, learn and have fun.
Whether you are a complete beginner or you have some martial arts experience, you are welcome. The pace will be gentle and progressive, with attention to posture, breathing and mindful movement. Think of it as a moving meditation plus a light workout.
**What weโll do**
โ Short warmโup and joint mobilization
โ Introduction to basic Taekwondo stances, blocks, kicks and hand techniques
โ Learning and repeating simple forms (patterns) step by step
โ Short coolโdown and stretch, with time for questions and sharing

Sophian is a French martial arts enthusiast with years of Taekwondo practice and teaching experience. He speaks French, Spanish, English and Mandarin, and can give simple cues in Cantonese, so international and local participants can all follow along.

In the world of first responders, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." While high-intensity training gets the glory, **Zone 2 Heart Rate training** is the silent engine that powers human performance.
This session, hosted by **TacticalFitnessHK**, is designed to build your aerobic baseโthe foundation that allows you to recover faster, stay calm under pressure, and sustain physical output for longer durations without burning out.
### What to Expect
This is not a "balls-to-the-wall" sprint session. We are training for **longevity and resilience**.
* **Briefing (10 mins):** Weโll start with a short talk from our founders (local first responders) on why aerobic capacity is critical for emergency preparedness and mental clarity.
* **The "Talk Test" Jog/Walk (60 mins):** We will move as a group in Kowloon. The goal is to keep your heart rate between **60-70% of your maximum**. You should be able to hold a full conversationโthis is where the community building happens!
* **Knowledge Share & Cool Down (20 mins):** Weโll wrap up with light mobility work and a Q&A session on emergency kits, situational awareness, and staying "ready" in an urban environment like Hong Kong.
