Bridging the Implementation Gap in AI for Stroke Interventions
**Join us for our next Machine Learning in Healthcare meetup in Berlin — proudly sponsored by the QUEST Centre!** Pizza is still back! We are very happy to announce our speaker **Frank te Nijenhuis**, who is a PhD candidate at the ICAI Stroke Lab at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. With a background in medicine and computer science, he develops deep‑learning models to support real‑time clinical decision-making during stroke treatment. **His talk´s title is:** **Bridging the Implementation Gap in AI for Stroke Interventions: Challenges and Opportunities** **Abstract:** In recent years, rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have led to a proliferation of AI models in medical imaging. However, despite promising performance in research settings, many of these models have yet to translate into meaningful clinical impact. In this talk, Frank will highlight several AI models developed for stroke imaging and examine the barriers that hinder their implementation in clinical practice. He will explore potential pathways to overcome these challenges and conclude with an interactive discussion on co-creation as a strategy to bridge the gap between innovation and real-world adoption. *** 📍 **Location:** “Atrium” conference room, 5th floor, Spreepalais, Anna-Louisa-Karsch-Straße 2, 10178 Berlin 🕕 **Doors open at 6:00 pm** — Talks start **at 7:00 pm!** * 6:00–7:00 pm — Arrival, food, and networking * 7:00 pm — Welcome by the hosts, followed by the talk + Q&A * 8:00 pm — More networking (and possibly more pizza) ⚠️ *Pro tip:* Sometimes only one of the four elevators is working! 📢 **IMPORTANT:** If you RSVP but later realize you can’t make it, *please release your spot* so others can join. *** This meetup is made possible with the kind support of the **QUEST Centre for Responsible Research at BIH**, who are providing both the venue and the delicious refreshments. Mixed Friendly Football @ Mauerpark - Lousy & Lazy
Mixed Friendly Football @ Mauerpark - Lousy & Lazy
Do you like to play football - but relaxed and not with competitive or aggressive players? Are you a bit lazy, a bit old, a bit unfit or not so talented? Then Lousy & Lazy Football is the right thing for you! We are a group of friendly people who just want to have a relaxed kick. All genders, ages (+18) and nationalities welcome. Feel free to join the waitlist even if it seems long - sometimes we make the event larger and play on two pitches (24 players, four teams) or even three pitches (36 players, six teams), depending on demand. Note: We do not allow high-studded football boots during our sessions. To avoid injuries, we only play with "Multinocken" (multistuds) or shorter. Please have a look here: link. Lousy & Lazy rules: 1. **Don’t be competitive - fun only! Enjoy the workout, nice people, wonderful weather and magic ball moments** 2. **No emotional shouting, no telling other players where to go and what to do** 3. **No hard tackling/sliding** 4. **Avoid injuring yourself and other players at all costs: Tight situation? Give up the ball rather them going all in** 5. **Support less fit and less skilled players by giving them the time and space to play the ball, don't intercept passes to and from them. Bonus points: Make them shine!** 6. **Don’t dribble past multiple players (trying to take on one player is fine)** 7. **Don’t close down the defenders too quickly. Give the team a chance to play the ball out.** 8. **Rotate the goalkeeper** 9. **Be a teamplayer** 10. **Come regularly and be reliable with your RSVPs**
Watercolour Basics
Watercolour Basics
**Saturdays, 13.6. - 11.7.** 18:15 - 21:00 This workshop is designed as a calm and welcoming space to slow down, paint, and reconnect with the joy of making things by hand – while also building a strong foundation in the essentials of watercolour painting. Through guided exercises and individual support, you’ll learn everything from how to work with water and pigment through brush pressure, layering, and colour mixing. The sessions are designed to help you switch off mentally, focus on the rhythm of painting, and settle into a relaxed creative flow without the pressure of perfectionism. This is not a “copy exactly what the teacher does” type of class. The aim is to help you build confidence and control with watercolour, develop a stronger eye for colour and observation, and create paintings that feel personal to you. The atmosphere is intentionally relaxed and open. You can join regularly throughout the full workshop period or simply come when you need a creative evening to reset, focus, and paint alongside others! **[Book your tickets here with Maximiliana!](https://www.tickettailor.com/events/maxmartiskova/2203970)**

Rust Berlin on location 🏳️‍🌈 - Edition 014
Rust Berlin on location 🏳️‍🌈 - Edition 014
**Rust Berlin on location 🏳️‍🌈** is a new, informal in-person Rust meetup group in Berlin. We are a interactive meetup format interested in mob coding, deep diving and problem solving together. We build toy projects, share experiences, discuss technology and learn new cool stuff. And you are welcome to join! No matter if you are writing Rust production code every day, if you already contribute to Open Source projects or want to start doing so, if you use Rust in hobby projects or if you are just curious what the hype and buzz is all about, you are very welcome! To coordinate and plan activities, please join our **[Rust Berlin on location 🏳️‍🌈](https://rust-berlin.zulipchat.com/join/gap4pdbz7xsquliiz7tgcyuk/)**[ Zulip chat](https://rust-berlin.zulipchat.com/join/gap4pdbz7xsquliiz7tgcyuk/)! **Planned programme** Being an informal meetup, we are open to anything between just meet and talk, explore nerd snipes and rabbit holes, mob code together, plan and build fun projects, tinker with electronics, and presentations with Q&A. With the [introduction](https://berline.rs/2026/04/01/berlin-talks.html) of the new [Rust Berlin Talks](https://berline.rs/about#rust-berlin-talks) meetup series, **[Rust Berlin on location 🏳️‍🌈](https://berline.rs/about#rust-berlin-on-location)** strengthens its focus on social community experience, the exchange of knowledge, ideas and perspectives, and the joy of spontaneity. This time, Florian Gilcher will give a small **workshop on structured and safe usage of *\`unsafe\`***. We will look at some common use-cases and how common hazards can be avoided. Anyone is invited to bring their projects and questions, show something, ask something, or explore a topic together. The best conversations and deepest rabbit holes can emerge out of seemingly nowhere. **Projected upcoming meetups** We schedule regular meetups on Thursday evening every four weeks, using the slot between the Berlin Rust Hack and Learn online meetup (every two weeks), and the Rust Nuremberg online meetup (every four weeks). 11 June 2026 is our fourteenth meeting Our next projected meetings are going to occur on the following dates: * 9 Jul 2026 * 6 Aug 2026 * 3 Sep 2026 * 1 Oct 2026 * 29 Oct 2026 * 26 Nov 2026 **Location** Our meetup location is the new shared office community space of Ferrous Systems, Slint and KDAB in Berlin Mitte, for up to 25 people. We are expecting to use this space as our default location for the time being, with the IN-Berlin e.V. community space in Moabit as backup. Regardless, as our group might eventually outgrow the locations' size limit, we are low-key looking for bigger locations. If you know a fitting location, then please let us know in our Signal group! Another workable way might be to split the meetup into smaller, interest-specific sub-groups instead. As the no-show rate on Meetup.com is rather high, consider showing up even if you are on the waiting list. We can't promise that there is any space left, but usually there is. So give it a shot! **Accessibility** The location has an elevator and a wheelchair accessible bathroom. Please note that the bathroom is two floors down from the meetup space. On our quest for a bigger location, we are going to pay special attention to accessibility. **Community** We aim to create a safe place for everyone and adhere to the [Berlin Code of Conduct](https://berlincodeofconduct.org/). Inclusivity is very important to us. If you are curious about Rust, but unsure if you are welcome to join: Yes, yes you are. Please come to the meetup! If you have special needs, please get in contact, we will try to accommodate you as best we can. We are part of [https://berline.rs/](https://berline.rs/) and like to hang out in the **[Rust Berlin on location 🏳️‍🌈](https://rust-berlin.zulipchat.com/join/gap4pdbz7xsquliiz7tgcyuk/)**[ Zulip chat](https://rust-berlin.zulipchat.com/join/gap4pdbz7xsquliiz7tgcyuk/). AI Meetup (June): Secure AI Agents
Important: Register on [AICamp website](https://www.aicamp.ai/event/eventdetails/W2026061814) is required for admission. **Description:** Welcome to the AI meetup in Washington DC. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI, GenAI, LLMs and Agents, hands-on experiences on code labs, workshops, and networking with speakers and fellow developers. **Agenda:** \* 5:30pm\~6:00pm: Checkin, Food/drink and networking \* 6:00pm\~8:00pm: Tech talks and Q&A \* 8:00pm: Happy Hour at Courthouse Social (cross the street) **Tech Talk: Secure Developer Environments in the Age of AI Agents** **Speaker:** Patrick Brown (Coder) **Abstract:** Federal engineering teams are under pressure to ship faster while meeting some of the most demanding security and compliance requirements in the world. In this talk, Patrick Brown of Coder explores how cloud development environments (CDEs) give agencies a foundation to accelerate software delivery without sacrificing control — and why that foundation matters even more as AI-powered coding agents enter the workflow. He'll cover how CDEs keep source code off endpoints, enforce zero-trust access patterns, and provide the consistent, ephemeral infrastructure that both human developers and AI agents need to operate safely at scale. **Speakers:** Stay tuned as we are updating speakers and schedules. If you have a keen interest in speaking to our community, we invite you to submit topics for consideration: [Submit Topics](https://forms.gle/JkMt91CZRtoJBSFUA) **Sponsors:** We are actively seeking sponsors to support AI developers community. Whether it is by offering venue spaces, providing food, or cash sponsorship. Sponsors will not only speak at the meetups, receive prominent recognition, but also gain exposure to our extensive membership base of 5,000+ AI developers in D.C and 500K+ worldwide.

The End of Human-Scale AppSec
The End of Human-Scale AppSec
For decades, application security has been built around a simple assumption: humans are the primary producers of software. We train developers, review their pull requests, model threats in design meetings, and build controls around human decision-making. That assumption is rapidly breaking down. As AI coding assistants evolve into autonomous software agents, organizations will gain access to an effectively unlimited engineering workforce capable of producing software at a speed no human team can match. The pressure to adopt these systems will be driven not by curiosity, but by competition. Companies that successfully harness agentic development will ship faster, iterate faster, and potentially outpace those that do not. This shift forces a fundamental rethinking of application security. The future of AppSec is not securing developers—it is governing an agentic workforce. Threat modeling, code review, security testing, and change management will not disappear, but they will need to operate at machine speed and increasingly be performed by systems rather than people. In this talk, Ken Johnson, CTO of DryRun Security, explores what the next decade of application security may look like, the assumptions that will no longer hold, and why security professionals must understand these systems deeply if they hope to influence the future rather than react to it.
