Cognac - from basics to world class bottles
Join me on a journey to understanding and appreciating brandy and Cognac to the fullest extent. We shall taste the wine that eventually becomes “eau de vie” and a delicious Armagnac before enjoying a few of the world’s greatest Cognacs. I’ll explain each step, definition and label so that you will be a true expert by the end of the evening.
We’ll understand terms like marc, fine, pommace, alambic, head/tail, paradis, hors d’âge, fins bois, brouillis… and delve into the influence of Cognac on popular culture.
What’s more, the food has been specially chosen to pair beautifully with the bottles: dark chocolate, desserts, fruit, blue cheese, charcuterie, and fish can all accentuate the flavours, and be improved themselves.
Astonishingly, this extraordinary experience will cost you just 40 Euros!
Santé ! Sean

The Meadow – Orga Circle 🦋 Social Butterfly Club
Would you like to support and engage in building a social club for newcomers in Berlin?
Every year, thousands of people move to this city knowing almost no one. The Social Butterfly Club exists to help newcomers find connection, belonging, and an active social life — and The Meadow is the weekly organizing circle where this work happens.
**The Meadow** is a calm, recurring meetup for people who want to help shape and sustain the club together. It’s a practical working circle for those who enjoy showing up regularly, taking responsibility, and contributing to something that grows over time. No prior experience needed — just reliability, curiosity, and a willingness to engage.
About
The Social Butterfly Club 🦋 is a Berlin-based community that has been bringing people together for over three years. Each gathering is part of a larger framework designed to help friendships grow through shared experiences in the city — with a long-term vision of turning Berlin itself into a shared, playful experience.

Pilgrimage Hike: Around Lehnitzsee (16 km) – Listening Beneath the Noise
This pilgrimage hike invites us to step out of everyday noise and practice attentive walking. Moving along water, forest paths, and forgotten places, we create space for silence, listening, and noticing what is usually overlooked.
📅 **Date & Time**
* **Date:** Saturday, January 24, 2026
* **Start:** 9:43 AM at Oranienburg Train Station
*(Travel via RE6 from Berlin Gesundbrunnen at 9:23 AM; arrival also possible via RE5 or S1)*
* **Duration:** Approx. 5–6 hours
* **End:** Lehnitz Train Station
*(S1 back to Berlin every 20 minutes; return from Oranienburg also possible)*
🗺️ **Route Highlights**
* [Komoot tour](https://www.komoot.com/tour/2734537596)
* Walking along the shore of Lake Lehnitzsee
* Paths beside the Oder–Havel Canal
* Forest sections near Schmachtenhagen
* Stories and background about the history of the places we pass
🤔 **Why This Hike?**
Listening and silence are essential when we want to orient ourselves for a new year. This pilgrimage invites reflection on questions such as:
* What do I actually perceive when things become quiet?
* What usually gets lost beneath daily distractions?
* Can I allow silence without immediately filling it?
There is no pressure to perform, achieve, or “optimize” anything. We simply walk – attentive, open, and together.
This pilgrimage is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature, and reflect on life’s important questions. We’ll walk at a relaxed pace, share thoughts, and take time for moments of silence – about 30 minutes to an hour– to listen to nature and our inner voices.
🔔 **What to know & bring**
* It’s winter, dress for the season and the weather. Important: hiking or running shoes, warm layered clothing, hat and gloves.
* Bring enough food and water for the whole day, as we won’t stop anywhere to buy snacks or drinks. A thermos with hot tea or coffee is highly recommended!
* Don’t forget your public transport ticket for the way there and back.
* There may be an option for a quick winter dip. If you’d like to try it, bring swimwear, a towel and extra clothes to warm up afterwards.
📩 **Questions & Registration**
If you have questions or need help with planning your trip, feel free to reach out. You’re also welcome to join our WhatsApp group for updates and connection before the hike.
Feel free to contact Pilgrim Guide Alexander via WhatsApp message (+4915757652601) or email (alexander.steinfeldt@outlook.com).
**Waitlist = You're in! 😊**
Currently, only 10 members can officially register on Meetup (due to the restrictions of the free version). However, you’re welcome to join the hike by joining the Whatsapp group for this event (Message me directly to confirm your participation and get the link for the Whatsapp group).

Free event with **[registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien1/w04-2026/)**
Loneliness can arise when people have few opportunities to experience genuine connection with others. This is where the group comes in, creating spaces in which a sense of belonging can be actively experienced. By working together on personal topics, a social space of resonance emerges that replaces isolation with relationship and contact. Through the structured sharing of experiences, loneliness becomes visible, discussable, and therefore open to change.
Through facilitated interaction, shifts in perspective, small experiments in experiencing contact, and shared reflection, participants develop new forms of connectedness and strategies for social effectiveness. The group functions not only as a source of support, but also as a learning environment for shaping relationships. In this way, resilient connections are formed that extend beyond the individual meeting and help to sustainably reduce loneliness.
**General Information**
This group consists of a maximum of 15 participants.
