**Start Time:** 11am
**Distance:** 75 km
**Pace:** About 20 km per hour (moderate pace)
Beautiful forecast for this Sunday. Time for a - well overdue - start to the 26 cycling season.
Kick off with a standard loop down to the beautiful lakes of Potsdam, Werder. Stopping at my favourite beer gardens for a late lunch and swim for those who want to. If the mood is right we might even catch a band at the Weder Bluten Fest as we loop back to Potsdam station.
We will meet on Templehof, head out down the Teltopw canal towards Potsdam, then down to the lunch stop near Caputh. Plenty of opportunities to drop and get the train home for those who need to be home early or don't want to cycle so far.
**The Cycling**
We are a not a racing bike group, but the pace is reasonable. Expect between 18 and 22 km per hour depending on who comes on the day.
Bring a good bike (doesnāt have to be special just in good order. All sports bikes can take part from tour bike, racers to mountain bikes. Heavy 3 speed city bikes would not be appropriate however).
**What to Bring**
Bring swim stuff, suncream, spare inner tube for your tyre size, cash, waterproofs
SNACKS

See you there

Park Volley āļø š š“ @ Hasenheide
**Join us for outdoor grass volleyball in Hasenheide park!**
This event is not suitable for complete beginners.
We play with two nets. The "chill court" is for mixed-level play with 3v3 up to 5v5. The "competitive court" is for higher-level 2v2 play with beach rules.
Be sure to wear suitable sports clothing and perhaps bring a drink.
There are no facilities such as changing rooms and showers in the park. A nearby public toilet is also available, but it might be closed, dirty, or not have toilet paper.
**Location**: We play in the narrow clearing, located between the two paths in the center of Hasenheide park, on the southern side. Updates will be posted in the WhatsApp group, which you can join via [https://tinyurl.com/ParkVolley](https://tinyurl.com/ParkVolley)
**RSVP**: Put yourself on the waitlist, even if other people are already on there. The waitlist is not chronological, so even if there are 30 people on there, you still have a chance! If you get a spot, you will be moved to the attending list and notified by Meetup. This is a free event with limited space. **If you can't make it, promptly update your RSVP to NO** so others can take your place. If you do not show up or cancel last minute, you will be marked as a no-show, reducing your chances of getting off the waitlist in the future.
**Payment:** This event is free, but you are invited to make a 2 EUR donation towards equipment.
**Attending**: Do not join if you have an infectious disease. You need to be on the attendee list to attend; **being on the waitlist is not sufficient**. Do not bring friends that are not on the attendee list. **Showing up without having a valid RSVP will get you banned**.
**Safety**: Mind the terrain. The grass might be uneven and contain items such as bottle caps. It is not suitable for diving or playing like on a beach. Be careful not to twist your ankle. Keep an eye on your belongings since we are in a public park. We do *not* have a full first aid kit available. Please inform the organizer of any medical conditions that might require attention during the event.
Some things you *might* want to bring:
\* Drink
\* Snacks
\* Insect spray
\* Sunscreen
\* Toilet paper, if you wish to use the public toilet

**Our Community Backyards workshops are FREE and a great way to participate in the rebate program. Our workshops are typically 1 to 1 and a half hours long and held in-person. Our workshops cover the same content as the online course, but they are more detailed and allow the chance to ask questions and have discussions with the presenters and other residents. We occassionally have "advanced topics" classes where you dive deeper into one topic of Community Backyards such as invasive vs. native plants or rain gardens.**
**Registration is encouraged but not required.** You can register in advance to receive your voucher at the workshop. If you don't register in advance, that's okay - you can still show up (unless otherwise noted - which is very rare) and sign up for a voucher at the class, and we will send you one via email or mail within a few business days after the workshop.
**"Do I have to be a resident of that community to attend that workshop?"** Nope! Our workshops are open to everyone (unless otherwise noted - which is extremely rare). You can attend a workshop that best suits your schedule even if it is in a different community than your own.
