Let's find our happy place, on the dance floor! Every Monday night. Swing dancing is a HUGE scene in this area! With ton's of live bands and dance opportunities every week! (Especially with Summer coming up on us!) so lets jump in and have some fun! New 8 week beginner lessons kick off TONIGHT! (5/4), 7pm at Colvin Run Dance Hall just off Route 7 in Great Falls. (between Tysons and Reston) These are super fun classes and no partner is needed. It's also inexpensive compared to dance studios! Registration is on the Gottaswing website. Thursdays 7:00-8:30 pm May 21st, May 28th, June 4th, June 11th (jam session), June 18th This class is designed to help aspiring flatpickers learn essential skills, concepts, and techniques for Bluegrass Guitar. This is a great class for beginner to intermediate players looking to get into bluegrass. Students will learn the basic chords and melody of one or 2 classic Bluegrass songs and how to approach playing them in a jam setting. Over the course of about an hour the class will play the tunes several times as a group exploring different possibilities for kickoffs, solos, endings and more. At the end of the class we open up the jam! Justin plays guitar and banjo with Cherry Blossom Special and runs jam sessions along and runs jam sessions along with mandolinist Nick Cameron and fiddler Mari Carlson.
