Your cat might be under 21, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t drink! We are bringing the cats to the beer garden. Feel free to come with or without a cat and get ready to socialize and raise a glass with fellow cat lovers! 🍻 This is a great opportunity to make new friends. I will be bringing one or both of my cats and they would love to meet you! If you bring your cat, make sure they are wearing a collar, harness, leash, in a backpack, carrier, and/or stroller. We will be meeting in the side tent called the “special events tent” opposite of the entrance. We have the tent fully reserved for our group! This is our monthly guy’s happy hour, a relaxed spot to grab a drink, meet new guys, and see what Choros is all about. Choros is a men’s social app that connects small groups of guys around DC for real-world hangs like trivia, hikes, TopGolf, board games, and brewery nights. Now in its 10th year, the [The Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards](https://www.strathmore.org/nurturing-artists/bernardebb-songwriting-awards/ "Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards") showcases some of the most compelling emerging songwriters from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Finalists take the stage at Strathmore to perform their original work before judges select this year’s winners. The competition awards a $10,000 grand prize plus studio recording support, along with a $2,500 award to one talented songwriter under 17. All finalists in both the adult and youth categories receive additional cash prizes. Love Riot is a Baltimore-based indie rock band started in 1993. In 1994 Love Riot won MusicQuest, a worldwide contest sponsored by Yamaha, traveling to Japan and taking grand prize. They released four critically acclaimed albums before going on a hiatus in 2000. Now Love Riot is back, with a new album, Better Now, set for early 2026 release. Bring a chair. We will sit near the front to the right facing the stage.

Hey all, this year we are returning to a favorite spot to once again celebrate Chapter Two's very own, Tim. As you can see from the photo, Tim is a lucky man and it may seem sometimes like his birthday is every day, but his real one is coming up, and we are going to party at his favorite taco joint, this side of Taco Bell. So come join us the evening of Sat, April 25th at Plaza Oaxaca Rockville to raise a glass to Tim (or at least a taco shell). We will be at the high tops near the bar. If Tim's past bdays are an indication, there's likely to be dancing too, until the youngins arrive and shame us off the dance floor (or make memes out of us to share with their friends). So come one, come all, to wish our favorite seaman (a title Tim would particularly appreciate) our best wishes as he puts another year in the books and grows even wiser. Lastly, if you don't know Tim, still come for the margaritas, tacos, and great company.
