{Hiking Series}Indonesia - Rinjani (3,726m) via Torean. Beautiful + Epic hike!
{Hiking Series}Indonesia - Rinjani (3,726m) via Torean. Beautiful + Epic hike!
**\*If interested, please whatsapp** [wa.me/+6588842635](http://wa.me/+6588842635) **or +65 8884 2635! Sign-ups *are only confirmed after contacting us and joining the WA group! \**** It is about damn time we organize a Mount Rinjani hike, one of the most beautiful and famous hikes in South-East Asia. Mount Rinjani (3,726m) is often on everyone's to do list. It is the 2nd highest mountain in Indonesia, with a good combination of beauty and challenge. Situated in Lombok, the hike over 3 days lets you experience a whole array of terrains, experiences and most likely emotions! From the lush savannahs, to trudging up volcanic scree, to climbing down boulders and rocks, active craters, crater lake, waterfalls etc. Little words can fully describe a Mount Rinjani hike until you've experienced it. If there was 1 hike I dare say someone should do in South-East Asia, it would be Rinjani. There are fantastic views not just at the summit, where you can see Mount Agung (Bali) across but also along the hike. You'll see a large caledera, crater lake known as "Segara Anak", a small active crater, as well as hot springs! The only downside is the fact it is extremely commercial, so seeing many other hikers and tents will be part of your view too. For this trip, we are not looking to do the traditional route, which is Sembalun/Senaru, but to explore the exit route via Torean instead. Our Rinjani itineraries have been always 3D2N because the extra night of camping is just a few hours away from a comfortable bed and toilet. Rinjani is often a litmus test to your perseverance and mental strength. It is usually everyone's first experience with volcanic scree. Although not technically difficult, the volcanic scree slope to the summit can be extremely tiring and challenging, especially to first-timers. To maximize one's success, it is important to have a good level of fitness and mental strength. Experience in full day hikes, or overnight camping would help also. **Who is this for?** > > * Challenge of doing Mount Rinjani, enough said > > * Experience camping > > * Experience an overnight summit push > > * Experience volcanic scree > > * Multi-day hiking > > * Experience 3,000m mountains with beautiful views > > * Huge step-up from other Malaysia hikes or hikes like Batur **Can Beginners do it?** Depends on what kind of beginners, If you are adventurous and fit, I would say it is technically possible. However, would be good to have some hiking experience at least! You have to be open-minded and mentally strong to keep hiking a full day for 3 consecutive days. Some experience and good fitness is encouraged, if not have lots of mental fortitude. If interested, do RSVP or Whatsapp. A Whatsapp group will be set up to coordinate further details and for a more detailed brief and instructions **Trip Information** Trip Duration: 5D4N Trek Days: 3D2N Brief Itinerary: Day 1: SG -> Lombok Day 2: Rinjani Hike Day 1 Day 3: Hike to summit, and down to crater lake. Day 4: Crater lake -> Exit via Torean, stay in Lombok Day 5: Lombok -> SG **Pricing:** Cost: 575 SGD per pax Minimum Pax: 6 Price Includes: LMT Trek Leader Transport from Airport on Day 1 Shared Accommodation in Lombok before and after hike (Day 1, Day 4) Transport back to Lombok on Day 4 All associated mountain entrance fees Mountain Guide Porter for Tents/Sleeping Bag/Food Meals during the Trek Price Excludes: Flights Travel Insurance Tips to Driver/Guides/Porters Personal Porters (For your own equipment) Transport back to Airport for departure to Singapore Meals outside of the trek Any other Personal Expenses Personal Equipment for Trekking This trip is organized by Little Monsters Travel Pte Ltd TA Number: 03117 Contact: +65 8884 2635

Our Fortieth Walk!
Our Fortieth Walk!
Hello everyone! Place to Meet: Farrer Rd MRT Passenger Service Control Centre Time: 5pm 1\. Dinner at Farrer Rd MRT 2\. Walk along Farrer Rd/Dunearn Rd/Stevens Rd/Scotts Rd/Orchard Boulevard/Napier Rd/Holland Rd/QueensWay/Commonwealth Ave/North Buona Vista Rd/Portsdown Rd before ending at One North MRT\. The route may be modified during the walk to better suit the group’s pace and fitness levels. The organizers will make adjustments as needed to ensure the walk remains enjoyable and manageable for all participants. Do drop me a message via whatsapp or via meetup if you will be late. You may consider the following: 1\. Comfortable Clothing • Moisture-wicking fabrics: Avoid cotton, as it traps moisture and causes chafing. Instead, choose clothing made from materials like polyester, nylon, or merino wool, which keep you dry.

 • Comfortable socks: Opt for moisture-wicking socks with cushioning to reduce the risk of blisters. 2\. Proper Footwear

 • Well-fitting shoes: Ensure your shoes are properly broken in and provide enough support, especially if you're walking long distances. Sturdy hiking or walking shoes with good arch support are ideal.

 • Blister prevention: Consider blister-resistant socks or pack blister pads to address any discomfort before it becomes a problem. 3\. Hydration

 • Water bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the walk to maintain energy levels and prevent dehydration. 4\. Snacks

 • Energy bars or trail mix: Portable, nutrient-packed snacks high in carbohydrates and protein—perfect for refueling during breaks.

 • Nuts or dried fruit: Easy to carry and great for providing long-lasting energy. 5\. Umbrella
• Umbrella: Bring one in case of rain to stay dry and comfortable\. 6\. Optional Gear

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries.
