Join & Play! 16 April
Join & Play! 16 April
Our traditional "Join & Play" event is on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of each month. As always, it's free to come & play with us. How does it work ? ‱ The events are open for beginner to advanced gamers. If you're new here they're the perfect gateway to discover what we do! ‱ Those who want to host a game are asked to share in the comments below which game, & for how many players you can run your table. ‱ For others, if you see a game you'd like to join just respond to the host in the comments below and we'll reserve a spot for that game for you. ‱ Don't worry if you're new to boardgames or simply don't know the games being hosted this time around; you can simply show up and the event host will sort out a spot at a table for you! *But please make sure to arrive by 19h30* at the latest *so we can take the time to find you a suitable spot.* ‱ The rules for the games will be explained by the table host before the game starts. No need to study them upfront, although several hosts post a video link to rules or background which can enhance your enjoyment of the game if you have the time to watch beforehand. This is never mandatory, however. ============================================== Games on the night: **\-\-\-\-** **Corrupt Bargain** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Mislav (host) Spot 2: Miklos Spot 3: Miklos +1 Spot 4: Wafa **\-\-\-\-** **Infamy** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Cyril (host) Spot 2: Cerebral Spot 3: Spot 4: **\-\-\-\-** **Letters from Whitechapel** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Toby (host) Spot 2: Oliver Spot 3: Bianca Spot 4: Yoann Spot 5: Priscilla **\-\-\-\-** **Epic Spell Wars** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Leo / sorac (host) Spot 2: Spot 3: Spot 4: **\-\-\-\-** **Tiny Epic Mechs** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Pedro Rafael (host) Spot 2: Huyensa Dam Spot 3: Boris Spot 4: CĂ©dric Timmermans **\-\-\-\-** **Heat** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Peter/bufferunderflow (host) Spot 2: Sarah W Spot 3: Yarince Spot 4: Spot 5: Spot 6: **\-\-\-\-** **TABLE** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Spot 2: Spot 3: Spot 4: **\-\-\-\-** **TABLE** **\-\-\-\-** Spot 1: Spot 2: Spot 3: Spot 4:
Python Game Workshop #2 — Organizing Your Game with Functions
Python Game Workshop #2 — Organizing Your Game with Functions
[French version below] In our first workshop, we built Mouse vs Cheese — a keyboard-controlled terminal game where a mouse navigates a grid to reach the cheese 🧀. If you missed it, no worries! We'll get you up to speed in the first 10 minutes. Right now, the game works, but the code is written as one long sequence of instructions. Everything happens in the same place, which makes it harder to read, reuse, and improve. In this session, we'll refactor the game by organizing the code into functions. This will make the program clearer, more modular, and easier to extend. By the end of the workshop: * The game will allow you to play again without restarting the script * The code will be split into small, reusable functions * You'll see how organizing code properly makes programs easier to maintain and grow 👉 This is Session 2 of an ongoing Python Game Workshop series, but it stands completely on its own. You are welcome even if you didn't attend the first session. 🧰 What to Bring \- Your laptop with Python 3\.x installed \- A code editor \(VS Code recommended\) \- Enthusiasm and curiosity\!

Blood on the Clocktower (Beginners welcome) @ Pestana Brussels Schuman
**Please update your attendance if you can not join as this game as we need to know the exact number of players.** We'll (probably) be playing the original *Trouble Brewing* variant, suitable for beginners. Here are a few helpful links: * [How to play video](https://youtu.be/M-aZP47Nm9g) * [Gameplay video by Good Time Society](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-aZP47Nm9g) * [Characters description](https://wiki.bloodontheclocktower.com/Trouble_Brewing) Blood on the Clocktower is a game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception for five-to-twenty courageous players and one devious storyteller. A social game played in person, seated in a circle, each player receives either a ‘good’ or ‘evil’ token with their unique character on it. Good players share information to solve the mystery whilst evil players lie about who they are and what they know. The good team wins if they can piece together their knowledge, trust each other, and execute the demon. The evil team wins if the demon can sow distrust, evade detection, and wipe out the village.

This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise. We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration. Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team. **YouTube Link** TBD
Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders

Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords

IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
Prompt vs. Paintbrush
Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s? This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation? We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee. Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
