FULL - Puppy Cuddles & Playtime | London 20s and 30s
**We don’t do boring Wednesdays, so on 24th June - we’re excited to be hosting the perfect activity night to brighten up your work week!** Yep and for our next edition of midweek social fun, we’ll be heading for our latest **Puppy Therapy Night** 🐾 To kick things off, we'll be heading to a nearby pub to give you a chance to get to know your fellow 20s and 30s, before heading over to meet the pups. If you haven’t tried this before, Puppy Therapy is a facilitated session filled with cuddles and playtime with puppies - guaranteed to lift your spirits and melt your heart ❤️ Studies show that playing with puppies can boost levels of serotonin and dopamine - whilst also great for the puppies to socialise too! Over the evening, you’ll have plenty of chance to cuddle and play with the puppies in a safe, facilitated space - complete with toys and treats. And so it’ll be a perfect chance to make lots of new friends - both the human and puppy kind 🐶 While puppy therapy experiences in the city can normally cost £35+ per person, we’ve scored a fantastic deal - so you can enjoy **the whole evening of puppy love for just £19.35pp!** It should be a really enjoyable night but as always, places are limited and so do nab yours ASAP to avoid missing out! \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- **WHERE/WHEN** To start the event, we will be meeting at a pub for social drinks **from 6:45pm.** However, we'd ask you arrive **no later than 7:15pm**, so that we can head over to the venue together in time for the start of the experience. **Pub Address**: The Rosy Hue, 6 Ash Ave, London SE17 1GQ ([https://maps.app.goo.gl/WbEg4chM7eaQwWqv6](https://maps.app.goo.gl/WbEg4chM7eaQwWqv6)) **Closest Tube stations**: Elephant & Castle (5 min walk) **End Time**: 9:30PM (Approx) **\- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \-** **JOIN THE COMMUNITY** Set up in November 2021, our community project was set up to help 20s and 30s in London meet, connect and hopefully build lifelong friendships. **Note: The cost is increasing for 2025 to cover increased court and shuttle costs** Central Badminton Club is a long-established, sociable group who enjoy badminton at an intermediate level. A reasonable standard of play is expected: guests should be regular players with a few years’ experience – no beginners, please. Join us for two hours of friendly, competitive badminton with like-minded enthusiasts. We use four courts, but even so we need to limit numbers so that everybody gets a fair number of games. We play from 8 to 10pm, with optional drinks and socialising in the pub afterwards. The cost of £12 per two-hour session includes feather shuttles. You can pay in cash at the session, or via bank transfer: * Account name: Central Badminton Club * Account number: 25977568 * Sort code: 30 98 97 Our commitment is to ensure that you have an enjoyable evening. However, since we are a non- profit club with tight finances, we expect that once you RSVP you commit yourself to play. You may cancel up to 24 hours before the the session to avoid any attendance charge and to allow other people on the wait list to play. If you do not show without notice we reserve the right to charge a full non-attendance fee if you come again and persistent offenders may be blocked from our club. So please be thoughtful and let us know in good time if you cannot attend.
TRE® Tension Release to Relax
TRE® Tension Release to Relax
This class offers an opportunity to learn simple and profound techniques to calm the body's stress response and reset the nervous system so that it is more relaxed, balanced and stable. We will work with the tools on our own and if desired, also offer support and consensual, healing touch in pairs. There will also be an opportunity to discover how the subconscious mind impacts the nervous system, our thinking and our behaviour and how we can work with the subconscious mind to live more freely. TRE® is one of the tools we'll explore. It uses simple and safe exercises that enable the body to access and release deep tension, stress and trauma patterns from the body. The exercises safely activate the natural and innate reflex of vibrating/tremoring/shaking in the muscles to release tension and calm the nervous system. When this movement happens in a safe and controlled environment, the body can find its way back into balance. This class is for you if: * you want to feel more connected to your body and less in your head * you are interested in learning a powerful technique that you can use for the rest of your life to manage stress and tension as nature intended * you want to let go of narratives, stories, limiting beliefs and find more freedom to be yourself For more information and to book, please click [here](https://www.outsavvy.com/event/17739/tre-tension-trauma-releasing-exercises-with-andy)
INTRO TO WOODWORK – BASIC WOOD JOINTS
INTRO TO WOODWORK – BASIC WOOD JOINTS
**Bookable via our website ➡️** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodwork-basic-wood-joints-74/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodwork-basic-wood-joints-74/) ⋆⋆⋆ A beginner's course that goes straight to the heart of woodworking. This five-week evening course will focus on timeless variations of wood joints that can be used for an endless amount of woodwork projects. Develop your skills with a saw, chisel and plane so that you can measure and mark out your work, cut, fit and glue joints accurately, ensuring your woodwork is strong, durable and darn good-looking. Learn these classic wood joints while you hone your making ability, and set free your ideas for furniture, box-making and all things fabulous. During the course, you will learn the uses and advantages of each joint as you construct a framework of sample joints. This project is a classic learning method. The **half-lap joint** can be used to make frames for pictures, perimeter door frames for panel or glass doors, dust dividers in cabinets and in many other situations. Because the half-lap does not add any thickness to the pieces of wood being joined, there are virtually no limitations for using it. The **mitred half** lap is an elegant yet strong corner joint, with its diagonal cut constructed with an internal half lap, The **tee halving** is a versatile joint which is often used in internal cabinet frames and simple framing and bracing. The **half dovetail** is a very strong type of joint because of the way the ‘tails’ and ‘pins’ are shaped. This shape makes it difficult to pull the joint apart and virtually impossible when glue is added. This type of joint is used in box constructions such as draws, jewellery boxes, cabinets and other pieces of furniture where strength is required. All use of tools and materials included. Perfect for beginners.

Neurodivergent Women Navigating Midlife Changes - Sleep, Rest, and Connection
Sleep, Rest & Connection: Building Our Community Together Join us for the next gathering of The Pause Collective — a supportive meetup for neurodivergent women navigating perimenopause, menopause, burnout, overwhelm, and life transitions. Since many of us haven't yet had the opportunity to meet, we'll begin by getting to know one another and sharing what brought us to this community. We'll also explore one of the most common challenges many women experience during this season of life: sleep. Whether you're navigating insomnia, waking up in the middle of the night, racing thoughts, night sweats, exhaustion, burnout, or simply not feeling rested, you're not alone. This will be a relaxed, low-pressure coffee shop meetup focused on connection and conversation. No need to prepare anything. No pressure to share. Come as you are. Together we'll: • Introduce ourselves and get to know one another • Share what brought us to The Pause Collective • Discuss sleep, rest, and energy during perimenopause and menopause • Exchange ideas, experiences, and support • Explore what topics we'd like to discuss in future gatherings • Continue building the kind of community we'd like to create together This space is neurodivergent-affirming, self-diagnosis-friendly, and supportive of different communication styles and energy levels. Quiet participation is welcome. Listening is participating. Whether you're looking for support, learning, friendship, or simply a place where you don't have to explain yourself, you are welcome here. I look forward to meeting you. — Dawn
