To celebrate English Wine Week, Searcys are hosting a Dinner in the elegant surroundings of Surveyors House, in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. **The menu will be paired with sparkling wine from Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Surrey**. **This dinner brings together four well known English houses, and each Brand Ambassador will present their cuvée and talk about their approach and style**. We will also have an introduction from a representative of GB Wines. Alongside this, Searcys chef has created a British menu designed to work with the wines and highlight seasonal ingredients. He was a passionate advocate for the American Revolution, and provoked both controversy and admiration when he published a bestselling pamphlet on the subject in February 1776 (*Reflections on Civil Society…and the War with America*). In the run-up to the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, this event offers a chance to bring Price’s distinctive voice and ideas back to life, and to reflect on their relevance to contemporary and still-urgent debates about freedom, rights and society, including in America itself. Sir Roly Keating is a former Chief Executive of the British Library, Controller of BBC Two and founding Controller of BBC Four. Since 2023 he has lived in the house on Newington Green which was home to Richard Price himself from 1758 to 1787. Joining Roly for a panel discussion and Q&A after his talk with be Michael Goldfarb, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s upcoming series *Mr Jefferson’s Library* and the podcast *First Rough Draft of History*, and Bee Rowlatt, author of books including *In Search of Mary* and founding trustee of the human rights education charity the Wollstonecraft Society.

Hello fellow tallies, **and by tallies we mean women over 5\`9 and men over 6\`2**. This is the one chance a month for us to meet up in person literally face to face in London. We are moving back to our old central London meeting place at **The Marlborough Arms** for a few months. **The Marlborough Arms is at 36 Torrington Pl, London WC1E 7LY**. It is Just a few minutes from Goodge Street tube station and a 10 minute walk from Tottenham Court Road, Russell Square and Euston Square tube stations. **The Tall Persons Club have been meeting in London on the last Friday of every month for over 30 years** so there tends to be more people there than just who is on this Meetup group. Come and experience the back straightening joy of standing alongside people who are taller than you and learn a whole new body posture, that accompanies that - cheaper than a Chiropractor! You are welcome to bring a non tall partner or friend, but one of you MUST be tall! **PLEASE NOTE:** this is a tall persons meet up where we tallies get a chance to talk to other tallies so there is a **minimum height requirement of 6\`2 for men and 5\`9 for women**. The venue is a Greene King managed pub with their own range of beers, gins (!) and spirits. Classic pub grub is available.
