The first band at Brookside Gardens summer twilight concert series is the Olney Big Band. The Band specializes in performance of classic swing, dance and jazz music from the Big Band Era of the ‘30s and ‘40s in addition to arrangements from the '50s to present day. Bring a chair.

Rehearsals 6/1, 6/15, 6/29, 7/13, 7/27, 8/17 - Potluck Performance Jam 8/24 Learn to jam Grateful Dead songs in a group setting, exploring the balance between song structure and impromptu improvisation that made their music complex and fun for both players and listeners. Over several rehearsals students will rehearse a set of classic Grateful Dead songs in preparation for a potluck performance/ party. Open to all instruments and skill levels, this workshop will use songs selected by the class to create opportunities for all participants to play and grow.
