Samba gives a great cardio work out and introduces to Brazilian culture. Each month Noah Gitlis teaches a different Jazz Standard with emphasis on melody, harmony, accompaniment, and rhythm. The goal of the class is to help students boost their jazz repertoire, and build the skills required to feel confident in a jazz jam session. These classes are a lot of fun and a great way to get out and play with other people while learning some really fun music. All instruments and skill levels are welcome but students should have basic proficiency on their instrument to get the most out of the class. Ben Mauger's Vintage Jazz Band brings hot swing to the DC area - come on out and don't forget your dancing shoes! The PRJC welcomes back a club favorite - trumpet and cornet virtuoso Ben Mauger, who has been pleasing audiences performing throughout the East Coast for over 25 years. His Pennsylvania based Vintage Jazz Band brings a program featuring a mix of classics from Louis Armstrong, Bix Biederbecke and hot trad jazz swing. Known for their energetic take on hot-jazz, Dixieland, and swing-from roaring '20s dance numbers to classic "Saints"-style tunes-this band delivers toe-tapping music and vibrant nostalgia. It'll be an afternoon of bright horns, swinging rhythms, and plenty of party-ready energy-and though Mother's Day will have passed, it's still a perfect way to celebrate our beloved Moms. This year.
