Innate Dance Class
**What is Innate Dance?**
Innate Dance is a joyful approach to movement, which invites deeper embodiment and self-connection through butoh inspired movement, Noguchi Taiso exercises, the Seki Method, somatic attention and imagination. We shake it out, breaking up stuck energy held in the body, and explore new movement possibilities from a place of alignment and sensitivity. Thanks to our open awareness we can be surprised by lesser-known parts of ourselves and come to appreciate our innate wisdom in movement. Through exercises, explorations and improvisations we build trust in the body that knows how it would like to move and express itself, and when we follow our innate dance, it just feels good! There is also time and space to dance freely, to enjoy the music in your body and to let go! Ultimately, it's about feeling more 'in' our body and grounding joy.

**Who teaches the course?**
Jess is a dancer and psychotherapist (humanistic and integrative), who loves shaping classes that offer the space to explore the many facets of being human. Sometimes this learning involves physically embodying non-humans like trees, fish and wind, so we can get out of our limited-human-thinking-mind and into the bigger wisdom available through imagination and our body. At other times it's about dancing textures, sensations or taking on the energy of parts of ourselves so we can know them better. Jess has danced all her life and has been exploring butoh dance for the past eleven years alongside her psychotherapeutic practice. She is co-author of *The Seki Method - Basics* (now available to buy online via website), is a Seki Method Facilitator, and was a 2024 student at the Im_Flieger Schule researching dance and healing.

Introduction to Argentine Tango
Argentine tango has nothing to do with the tango you've seen on TV.
No dramatic dips. No fixed choreography to memorize. No performance.
Real tango is a conversation. Two people, close together, listening to each other through touch and weight and breath.
The leader proposes. The follower responds. The dance emerges from that - improvised, alive, completely in the present moment.
It is one of the most direct ways I know to practice presence.
In this introductory evening, you'll learn the basic structure of the embrace and a few simple steps.
More importantly, you'll begin to feel what tango is actually about: connection. To your own body first, then to another person.
You don't need a partner. You don't need dance experience.
You need comfortable shoes with a smooth sole and an open mind.
I've been dancing tango for years, and I come to it from the same place I come to everything else I teach: the body knows things the mind doesn't. Tango is one of the ways we learn to trust that.
Partners are rotated during class so you practice with everyone.
Teachers and organizers are Sara & Nemanja, competitive dancers and teachers, who discovered their love for tango, and now they want to share it!
For Students under 28, there is a discount.

VDSG meets WiAI Austria: Building AI-Ready Data in Insurance & Healthcare
Dear Data Enthusiasts,
Come to the joint event with Women in AI Austria at UNIQA on the **29th of April** to explore how fragmented, heterogeneous data can be transformed into governed, AI-ready foundations that drive real impact. This evening we will hear how these challenges play out in two very different domains: managing workforce data at scale in insurance, and unifying multi-modal clinical data to support better patient outcomes in healthcare.
**From Fragmented to Foundational: People Analytics at UNIQA**
How do you turn fragmented People Data into a trusted, AI‑ready data foundation? This session shows how UNIQA uses Databricks as a core data platform for people analytics, integrating multiple sources into a governed People Datawarehouse. We will explore how to enable a single source of truth for workforce data to support responsible analytics, scalable dashboards, and AI‑ready datasets.

**Talk Details:**
**Talk 1:** **TiRex: Zero-Shot Forecasting Across Long and Short Horizons with Enhanced In-Context Learning**
TiRex is a compact pre-trained forecasting model for zero-shot time series forecasting across both short and long horizons. Built on an xLSTM backbone, it combines recurrent state tracking and strong in-context learning with contiguous patch masking and masked inference, enabling robust forecasting and efficient uncertainty estimation. This talk outlines the key architectural and training choices behind the model, including data augmentation strategies and large-scale pre-training. Results on public benchmarks show strong zero-shot forecasting performance together with fast inference and a low memory footprint. The talk also highlights how TiRex representations transfer to downstream tasks such as time series classification, illustrating the promise of forecasting models as broader foundation models for time series.
**About the speaker:**
Sebastian Böck is Lead Researcher at NXAI, specializing in Deep Learning, Sequence Modeling, and Time Series Forecasting. He received his PhD in Computer Science from JKU in Linz and his diploma degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Technical University in Munich. Long before his current focus on the efficiency and scalability of foundation models, he pioneered the application of recurrent neural networks (RNNs) in Music Information Retrieval—spanning onset detection, beat tracking, and polyphonic transcription. This early work cemented his deep expertise in state-tracking and recurrent architectures. Today, his research at NXAI centers on overcoming the fundamental scaling and inference bottlenecks of modern AI through the extended Long Short-Term Memory (xLSTM) paradigm and its application across diverse modalities.
**Talk 2:** **Combining technological precision with social responsibility in training data preparation**
This presentation introduces Responsible Annotation Services (RAS), a specialized All-Austrian provider of high-quality data processing. Founded as a spin-off of the non-profit Responsible Annotation, RAS leverages a unique workforce of neurodivergent experts to deliver exceptional attention to detail, pattern recognition, and perseverance - helping to create reliable, ethical, and effective AI systems.
Three distinct case studies will be presented demonstrating the versatility across modalities and industries:
Bank Foyer Safety: A strategic collaboration with KEBA to refine their AI assistant, KeBob. This involved the meticulous labeling of human postures and mobility aid usage to enhance real-time emergency detection in semi-public banking environments.
Text Annotation: A dive into our natural language processing project with Newsadoo, showcasing how our team structures complex textual data to train advanced language models with high semantic accuracy.
Air-Vehicle Surveillance: A large-scale project with Frequentis involving the annotation of approximately 5 million video frames for airport monitoring, transforming raw footage into precise training data.
**About the Speaker:**
Andreas Schachl is a seasoned tech leader and open source enthusiast who believes that creating a better future requires action — not just ideas. Together with his friend Hans‑Peter Kranewitter, Andreas co‑founded Responsible Annotation Services, an AI‑focused venture that streamlines the entire data pipeline. Their key to success is a neuro‑diverse team of annotation experts who consistently deliver top‑tier results at high speed, even over prolonged periods.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at our April Meetup.

Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Richard Ades**
**Band: The McKenzies**
**Clinton Heights Lutheran Church**
**15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/)
Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
